Just watched the CIS in Southport drop our donations into the trash bin while we were still standing there. There were some nice decor items and some clothing with tags still on. Never again will I donate or shop in that store
I went to the salvation army in Southport to donate some kids toys and I received a very negative response from the employees/volunteers. But this place! Oh this place has the most welcoming, heart warming staff and that is rare these days...it was that original southern hospitality flavor!. I think it was Debra, Donna, and Carol. Absolutely the best!
The store has an ok assortment. Leaving a review because there is NO restroom for paying customers. Terrible shopping experience when you’re 6 months + pregnant.
On vacation I saw this thrift store and stopped. SO GLAD I DID! Wonderful finds and staff was great! Loved it so much, I drove 45 minutes out of my way on trip home to visit this store again! Definitely make the trip... ?
always good finds here.. selection of clothes is huge, lots of children's clothing and always new stuff. the employees are always so nice and have even given me discounts on name brand bags(which are behind the counter on a shelf btw) the only thing i would change is that there are no signs marking what is what or sizing, but it is very organized besides that and if you know the shop it's easy to navigate.
Great thrift store~ Store is quite big and has a very good selection of items from knick knacks, clothing, appliances, craft supplies, and more. Prices were very reasonable on all items that I saw! Clothing was organized by size and then by color which was beautiful ? Very easy to find clothes in your favorite colors! There wasn't a public restroom though~
We were traveling a far distance out of town to visit the thrift shops in the area. CIS thrift shop had no restroom for public and advised me to go to the Asian restaurant which is in the (Next parking lot over). My sister asked next door, I'm handicapped and walk with an upright walker luckily the next door, Carolina Health Care products was sweet enough to accommodate me. Thank you CHC nice place. But no thanks CIS your prices are high as well. They're open Mon.-Sat, 10am to 5pm. Sun. 12-4pm
As much as I want to keep this place all to myself, the CIS thrift is just too good! If you think of scattered merchandise and sketchy settings when you think thrift, get ready to change your mind - everything here is neat, clean, and displayed like a boutique but still at thrift store pricing. On top of having quality items at fair prices, they show respect for customers by treating their inventory well (no damaging items with marker or sloppy tagging), and the money raised goes to improve the community, a combination that's hard to beat!
Overall it’s a great store . However we were in yesterday and my 3 year old granddaughter ( potty training 101) announces she has to go potty . My daughter, with merchandise in hand to purchase , politely asks the woman behind the counter if they had a restroom . And without looking at us , and with a snippy attitude she told us “No we sure don’t . Closest one is the Asian restaurant or Hardee’s . “ Never even made eye contact , and went about her whatever she was doing . We were appalled at her curt and dismissive response. You as a store made the decision not to offer your patrons a restroom , but it could and should have been handled differently . I was in customer service for over 40 years . Epic failure on your stores part .
Always a good selection of women's clothes. I used CIS card and got 3 nice pieces of business clothing for $4.00. Can't beat that! Friendly and well organized.
I am a retired teacher so I appreciate a store that not only has an array of very nice merchandise but it's also knowing what cis has done for our schools. I walked out with a big bag with excellent condition clothes. Thanks to all volunteers and employees
CIS stands for Community for Schools. All profits made by this store are 100 % given to the schools to help provude6much needed supplies and after school activities for the kids. They take donations of any type as long as the items are in good shape. They have a wide variety of clothes, shoes, furniture, even throw pillows.
