I purchased Oborozuki rice, but the quality was disappointing. It did not have the texture or taste of proper white rice.
I contacted the seller and requested a return. They responded by saying they would send me “100% white rice” the next day. However, the replacement I received was the same quality as the original. There was no improvement at all.
I now have multiple bags of this rice, all of which are unpleasant to eat, and I honestly do not know what to do with them. I have been buying this rice for about four and a half years, but the quality has clearly declined. At this point, it is no different from the rice sold at H Mart.
I am very disappointed, not only with the product but also with how this issue was handled.
Even if you file a complaint, you will not get a refund. They simply send the same product again instead of resolving the issue.

This store charges double the USPS published rates. Not only unacceptable they make profit in shipping but customer service fails to respond when you contact them by email.
Amazing selection of different rice and other artisan Japanese ingredients. Staff were very polite and helpful. Exited to buy my rice and ingredients here going forward. Also a great place to buy a gift.
The rice factory is such a gem. Cute hand-written labels, a unique and ever-evolving selection of goods, and a relaxing atmosphere with friendly staff all combine to be one of the most enjoyable shopping experiences I have ever experienced. That’s not saying anything about the rice selection, which is extensive and fun to explore.

After living in Japan for 3 years, I've been searching for a rice shop just like the one down the street from my apartment in Miyazaki. The Rice Factory is exactly that! While I've never visited in person they have a wonderful online store. My orders are always milled and shipped the next business day. The rice is so delicious! I appreciate their rice taste matrix for each offering. Just make sure to take your time washing and cooking the rice properly. You can buy the best ingredients in the world, but if you have no idea how to use them, you won't be getting your money's worth. If you love rice, give them a try!
Absolutely amazing shop for Japanese goods! I should say, good quality Japanese items. Got some organic umeboshi, aged soy sauce, dashi stock etc. Shipping to PA was very fast. Everything was packaged perfectly and safely. Easy to see the importance of detail that they give. I plan to order their rice in near future as well - seems they will it in their property on the spot. Fresh. So lucky to have found them, so hard to find amazing umeboshi and high quality Japanese imported products. 5 stars!
As an American I never understood how good rice could be. But my Japanese partner kept complaining about how lousy even very expensive rice from Whole Foods et cetera was. Then we found The Rice Factory! Truly life changing.

The product they sell here are of very high quality. The cannef fish exceptional quality, when most of us think of canned fish we get, they are of mediocre quality but outside of United States there a lot of high quality seafood product that are canned. The sticky rice I get for sushi rice, get is really good, very huge grain. I can't find Japanese rice in the local Japanese mini mart/ supermarket that is big as this.
You can enjoy real fresh Japanese rice!

So this is an odd little place and I hope it stays in business. They stock many varieties of short grain rice. They stock the varieties as brown rice and the mill it into white rice fresh for you to order. This is sushi snobbery taken to another level an I for one support it. The also stock aged soy sauce, high quality miso, and a small selection of Japanese pottery. Please check them our they are awesome. Also they have the best rice snacks I have ever tried.
The rice factory sells unique crops of special import Japanese rice and refines the rice for you at the time of sale for maximum freshness. If you are looking for the highest quality rice, there is no other comparable store. They have a great home delivery operation, but it's worth visiting the store yourself and picking up some of the other high quality Japanese products like cooking sake, soy sauce, canned mackerel (delicious) or my favorite - the fish-shaped kitchen sponges. I sincerely recommend this store.
The rice is freshly ground, and there's a lot of Japanese soy sauce, sesame oil, canned fish, and all kinds of knickknacks. It's very delicate. The important thing is that the staff here are very friendly and professional and they will answer all your questions and give you guidance. I really like it here and I will come back again

i haven’t actually purchased anything from this store but i went in today and the woman in the store was so friendly and sweet. i will definitely be back. they have a varied selection of rice, dishware, mochi and other ingredients for japanese cooking. all of it is very high quality, neatly organized and it is a very serene store. i love it!!!
