Great spot near a creek, but site is full of stationed RVs that borderline a trailer park.

The best! We stay here frequently. The sites are private, spacious and well kept, with plenty of trees to hang a hammock. There isn't a bad site in the whole place! Plenty of amenities for the kids - heated pool, mini golf, arcade, pond, paddle boats, bounce house, playgrounds, river, ice cream, train, hayride. The list goes on and almost all are included with no additional fees! The staff is all friendly and everything is clean. We love it!

A very nice campground with wooded sites. The campground is a mix of seasonal campers and short term campers. Unlike a lot of private campgrounds, this campground actually had cable tv and wifi that worked and was usable. The campground offered weekend/holiday activities for the children campers. They have several fun zones including a heated pool, an arcade, miniature golf, and playgrounds. They also have an onsite takeout restaurant. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Including all fees, taxes, and discounts our per night cost was $81.00 for a full hookup back in site.

Our non verbal autistic son limits what we can do as a family. Our son became comfortable with his surroundings and the cabin was perfect and didn't overstimulate him . The owners and staff made us feel like we have know them a life time . My vacation/work stay was made easy by all the different entertainment opinions for my family. So I didn't have to worry about the family as I worked. If you have a child with ASD during the week would be better for you and don't forget to get a cabin. Thank you Rip van Winkle campground!

The campground is nice, but that snack shack is really what blew my mind. That was a really good burger. The mozzarella sticks were so good. They tasted like homemade everything was fried perfectly cooked perfectly. The juice level on the burger was perfect hats off to the couple in the kitchen at the snack shack Really made my afternoon. ;)

Great spot with lots of amenities and friendly staff. Called last minute trying to find a place to park my camper van overnight and they were extremely helpful in getting me a plot. Showers are hot and clean, trails are maintained and while I didn't use many of the amenities there are a lot. Laundry on site, mini golf, a pool and plenty of other things if you bring kids. It's very RV/Camper centric but they have plots in the back for cars/vans/tents. Much reccomended and would stop again if in the area. Extra shout out to Daria in the front office, she is so kind and a huge help.

Awesome place to stay. Everyone is very friendly. There are lot of stuff to do with your family to have fun and make good memories. Very family oriented. I've been going there for years. Every time I go feels like the first time.

This is one of the best campgrounds I have been in recently. The sites are large and level. They are also spaced far enough apart to provide privacy. The roads were well maintained. All facilities were clean and well kept. The staff were professional and friendly. I highly recommend Rip van Winkle campground.

Rip Van Winkle campground is such a special place! My family and I have been visiting the campground for the past five years and we’ve always enjoyed each trip. The grounds are a mix of nature and comfort, from the beautiful, crystal clear Plattekill Creek and shaded sites, to the well stocked camp store and snack shack, private showers, heated pool, and endless activities. Rips is the kind of campground that you never want to leave, once there! We have stayed in both cabins and tent camped and always look for sites along the creek. We have made wonderful memories during their exciting themed weekends like their Christmas in July or their incredible Halloween weekend, but have also marveled at how quiet and peaceful the grounds are during the weekdays. Such a great family campground our family has come to love!

Really nice, well maintained large Campground. There are plenty of trees and lots of cool campsites that have cliffs as a backdrop. We stayed down by the river and found it to be quite nice. Would definitely come back, nice job guys.

Staff is extremely rude! Also if you are looking to even sit near a fire after 10pm go elsewhere. There is no fun allowed after 10pm!!! I do not recommend! There are many other campgrounds in that area half the cost, friendly and want you and your family to enjoy yourselves. Look elsewhere

We stayed here as an over night on a trip. The campground was fairly easy to get to, and not far off the toll road. But once you turn into the campground there is a steep driveway that curves slightly… we took it slow, at one point we had maybe 4” of clearance between the cap and the bed of the truck. We were in spot #9… a pull -thru for up to 45ft. We are 42ft and the nose of our truck was in the bush to right next to the site# sign, and we had about 6” of clearance between our rig and the tree on the left. I would not recommend this site if you are any longer. This is a wooded campground and the roads throughout do curve around the trees at times, so take it slow. The trees are trimed plenty high somee had no issues with scrapping branches. The grounds are well maintained. Water pressure was good. Cell phone signal was great for T-Mobile, and WiFi was good. The campground seemed to be loaded with things to do… I wish we had more time to check it out. Neighbors were close but there’s plenty of trees between to not feel on top of each other. Our site was level.

Really nice location and the park was very well maintained. The staff is friendly and helpful. Our site was private and clean. We had an excellent experience here. Can't wait to visit again.

Wonderful campground! We had our GIrl Scouts Family camping trip here this year. Wonderful owners, plenty of activities and fun was had by all. Rally site #1 was a great choice for our large group. Pavilion, field area, running water and electric, bathroom close and showers on opposite side of the camp ground but wasn’t terrible to get to.

Up and coming place. Been there forever. Busy. We toured Crowed. Few spots for weekender or weekers. Several playgrounds clean . Pool small fenced dog area. Not a parking lot. Creek and fishing pond. Little cabboses to rent w/ac. We were greeted by the locals every morning. Several duck come out the pond checking leaf littler for bugs and see if we had any donations. We will be back. Great deli down the rd. With Indian take out on Tuesday . We enjoyed. We will be back. Pleasant folks.

Very quiet campground as there were not may people camping. Pool was good, miniature golf was good and we enjoyed the fishing pond. Looks like there are a lot of campers that store there campers here.

Family owned, family friendly campground. Many amenities - heated pool, mini golf, ping pong, RV race track, peddle boats, basketball and volleyball courts, running creek. We will return.

We've stayed at RVW several times now and we always leave with the same thoughts, the sites are large with plenty of space between them and we just love the mature woods! They have all the amenities including a dog park, RC track, fun zones and more. So much for you and your family to enjoy. The showers are still free, water is always hot and the facilities are always clean. We just love it there! If your family is looking for a beautiful place to camp that you'll fall in love with then we highly recommend RVW!

The campground looked nice although a bit pricy ($80 for a single tent site). I haven’t had the time to explore it thoroughly, I was there only for one night, but I had a good overall impression of the park. Only two things left me disappointed: 1) I didn’t see recycling bins in the trash area, only one big container where everyone would dump anything. I found that very disrespectful for the environment, so I preferred to take back with me my recyclable waste. 2) The wood bundles sold at the camp store were wrapped in plastic, which was also quite a paradox. These two things gave me the impression that there was not enough environmental attention, which in my opinion it should be a priority for such a place.

The service at the office was very helpful. Very friendly. The sites were spacious and big. I wish they had a little more stuff for the kids to do during the day and a little more activity for the adults at night. Maybe a DJ or something. Rip rip snacks avoid rip snacks. I mean we got the fish and chips which were fries which were soggy and the fish was hard. It was old tasted old. It was baked not fried and it was hard. Almost broke a tooth but the place is very nice. The campground sites themselves are spacious and comfortable

It was a beautiful campground with plenty to do for families. I stayed at lovers lane which was promised to be secluded from others but it honestly wasn’t. Children regularly rode bikes right by us and played and there wasn’t any wooden area between other campers that stayed next to us. It wasn’t private at all. Other than that it was very nice.

Our stay at Rip Van Winkle was everything we hoped for. The sites are large with lots of trees for shade. I'm not sure if we just timed it right but the campground was fairly empty so it was QUIET! Over the weekend there were a few families but they weren't loud and the kids were great. Our dog enjoyed walking along the path through the campground, and along the Platekill creek. We also took her wading in the creek which she loved. Deer walked through the site next to ours. There were Fun Zones set up all throughout the camp for kids, everything was well kept. We didn't need to use the bathhouses or restrooms as we were in our RV but they seemed to be well spaced out throughout the grounds. We are already planning a return trip.

Family owned not corporate! Very accommodating quiet campground nestled in the woods with plenty of amenities. Facilities are well kept and clean. Amazing egg sandwiches and Philly Cheesesteak and can't forget Perry's Custard ice cream. Well be back!

We booked a campsite along the river for the weekend. We arrived late on Friday and had some issues checking in with kiosk and couldn’t find our site. We felt terrible but had to call the help line. I believe it was the owner - he went above and beyond for us. He drove out and checked us in manually and even helped deliver fire wood to our site even though it was 11pm. The campsites along the river are beautiful. It was the perfect spot for us to camp near kaaterskill falls. 10/10 Highly recommend this place and would come back.

We visited RVW campgrounds for the first time as our last camping trip of 2023. It also happened to be RVW’s last weekend of the camping season. We enjoyed our time so much that we intend to return next year and stay longer next time. The entire campground is under lovely shade trees with lots of natural rock formations. It was just beautiful with the autumn leaves changing and falling. We enjoyed the campground roads too, to walk our dogs around. It is a large campground, so we did a few nice walks to tire the pups out. Speaking of pups, they have a dog park with a nice, groomer-quality dog wash station right outside of the dog park! Fortunately, we did not have to use it, but we have never seen a dog washing station at a campground before. Other things that we really appreciated about the campground was that it was gated, quiet, the firewood they sell burned very nicely, the camp store had great snacks and everything you need in a pinch, the staff were wonderful about chatting with us about local attractions, and our large and roomy site was a full hookup, including cable. The seasonals have decorated and maintained their sites very nicely. The campground is close to great hiking and the cute main streets of the towns of Saugerties and Woodstock. Rip Van Winkle Brewing Company is a short ride and they serve delicious beers and Italian food. We don’t have any children, but we noticed the tons of activities available to kids at this campground too. Seriously, go to their website and click on the “Our Park” link to see all that they have to offer. We are actually considering bringing our nephew(s) next time because there is so much to do for children at the campground and in the surrounding area. You have two very happy customers here. Thank you for making our last trip of 2023 one of the best trips yet.

I have not stayed her yet but plan to take my kiddo in the spring! Very friendly owners with a very unique kid oriented camp with tons of activities! I can't wait! Self check in terminal at the office is functional and easy to spot and use. Everything is meticulously kept water fountains and ponds for recreation and parks and bounce houses and giant dinosaur skeletons towing 2 stories! That's just what I saw at the entrance! I've never venture been past the gate yet! Can't wsit!

This is our annual family campground with our popup; we do 2-3 others each summer, but always here! The lots are far more private than other campgrounds, they have lots of things for kids to do, the sites are fairly level and well groomed and the bathrooms are never too far away. Only complaint is that the fishing pond has been very low and not well socked with fish for the last few years.

This is the second time we've been to Rip Van Winkle Campgrounds, the first time we were rained out for most of the trip but the second time was for our elopement wedding. The staff here is beyond friendly and helpful. They truly go out of there way to make sure everything is perfect. The restrooms are cleaned daily and even the restrooms in the very back of the campground are as clean as any restrooms I've encountered at any of the parks I've stayed at. The sites are all spacious and wooded to allow for privacy. We stayed at 15 towards the front of the campground the first time and 90 this last trip. 90 was very spacious and in the back near the creek which was an added bonus. Overall this is one of the better campgrounds I've ever stayed at and we will be back to relive the magical week we just spent here!

Rip Van Winkle is certainly one of our favorite campgrounds within reasonable driving distance from NYC. The grounds feel very safe and the other visitors are all respectful and courteous, never had an issue. We come here often every summer with our children, our dog, and our friends. The sites are spaced out nicely and well wooded. The river and swimming area are so natural and beautiful. The kids enjoy catching lizards, frogs, etc and splashing around in the water. The facilities are well maintained and clean. Bathrooms and showers are always clean, never had an issue. The staff is always accommodating and friendly. They have complimentary coffee every morning to start your day. Most importantly they are consistently good. We come back here often and have never been disappointed. It got to the point where the kids load the car with all our camping gear and beg us to drive to Rip Van Winkle. Such a special spot to enjoy summer days with the family. Take lots of pictures with the forest/river backdrop - looks like a painting. Keep up the great work!
