I'm not happy with the service at all
Too many pickup changes 3 times, then price change 3 times again this point.
It started with $800 for the water pump change
Then I got another calling saying there’s another charge of $200 for flushing which I believe should’ve been part of the water pump change already but they charged me for that.
Then I got another calling and thwyrw telling me I need a thermostat change and that one is $1668.91.
First they says I’ll get it same day, then not then they told me I’ll get it at 10am in the morning and then not, then they told me next Tuesday or Wednesday ?
I’ve brought them two cars now, one was a hot mess that hadn’t moved in 3 years but was a newer car with less than 6 thousand miles, they took the extra step of washing the car down before giving it back. Second car had a giant crack in the windshield I forgot about and was due for an inspection. Nico’s way facilitated my glass replacement for me and went through my insurance. From previous experience I know how hard the front glass on this car is to get and they had the glass installed by the end of the day and followed with my inspection and oil change the following day. Amazing turn around time and I didn’t even have an appointment. Thank you very much guys
I recently wrote a review about Nico’s way that expressed my discontent with our first experience as my husband took his car there for a standard oil change, but came back with a hefty bill after being told not by the Mechanic, but by the receptionist that he needed additional work which was made to sound like it was something crucial.
Within 24 hours the shop had called us back, very apologetic and asking to re-examine the bill. Not only did they admit to making a mistake which was honestly my first time experiencing a company hold accountability for themselves, but they also reassessed what my husband was told he needed work on by the owner himself who had not been at the shop when my husband first went. It turned out that the individual who was trying to help my husband was new to the job and all was an innocent mistake. Unfortunately, based on my past experiences with other companies, I did not think it was worth calling them prior to writing the review however, I do regret that decision now. nicos way is definitely a trustworthy establishment with Steve being an incredibly generous and kind manager, who made it very clear that his priority is to make sure his customers are happy with their experience and that’s rare to find. If you go here especially when Steve is there, you will be in good hands.
Steve at Nico's way is so knowledgeable and affordable compared to other shops in the area.i have going there for years. Car always fixed the first time. Very friendly shop overall.
Nico was super honest unlike other mechanics, friendly pricing and an overall great experience. He communicated clearly and guided me step by step explaining why he was doing what he was doing. Other shops turned away from me but not this one! I highly recommend these guys!

I needed an oil change in a hurry, so I went to Nico's Way. The shop didn't appear open; I was about to leave whe n Merideth came to the door asked if I needed help. Well it's been Nico's Way ever since! The service is wonderful and the staff is just as wonderful! Highly recommended!

I have been going to Nico’s for the last seven years. It’s not just an automobile repair shop, they treat you like family. Meredith is the receptionist And is always so pleasant and helpful. I cannot say Enough good things about Steve. In this day and age it is very hard to find somebody honest and reputable. I consider Steve a friend. His two mechanics Robbie and Jared Are always courteous and professional. I highly recommend Nico’s Way and is the only mechanic I would go to. Steve is full service And doesn’t try to sell you things you don’t need. He stands behind his work. Give Nico’s a try you will not be disappointed.

I cant say enough good things about this shop. They are professional and get the job done right the first time. From the owner to the staff they all treat you like family. I brought my Gen 1 CTS-V to Nico’s Way and the entire crew could not have been better . Steve and Meridith were organized and efficient and most importantly knew that she was my baby. I would trust them implicitly with any work on any car!
Motorcycle inspection!
I was looking all over for a shop that was open on a Monday for my motorcycle New York state inspection safety inspection. I just couldn't find a place nor one that would do it today or have any room for it or would do anything I kept getting rejected.
I was referred to Nico's from the bike shop ATV store just a few doors down.
This place is perfect I called and the woman was so nice on the phone so kind. Really welcoming on the phone. 1:30 appointment sure!
I rode the bike there and she was even more welcoming in person. I love shops like this where they make you feel like you're at home. Several of the other customers coming in she greeted them by name. It's like the cheers of automotive shops.
I walked outside to leave and there was a gentleman with a beautiful land cruiser there right hand drive leaving it for some work. And we struck up a conversation super nice guy talked about my bike and his truck. Really just the all-around great experience.
I had my motorcycle inspected in no time whatsoever I think I was there 15 minutes maybe.
I will definitely be back with any of my automotive needs for the shop.
It's a nice little waiting room. I never would have found this place if I weren't for that other place.

I went there for a diagnosis on an issue I thought involved the brakes. Very friendly and professional, even offered coffee and drinks! I was reassured there was nothing wrong with the car, I was not lied to just to get money from me, most mechanics makes up stuff just to get paid in my experience. I will be using them in the future for sure.
Update: I was told with written confirmation that rear brakes need to be replaced and months later, today it is the front brake! How can you make such a big mistake? If this is on a human, that is a major problem. I am never going back there, period!
They have appointments available within a day or two of calling, they explain what needs to be done, they explain all costs up front. Car is always returned as quickly as possible, in great condition. Staff is very friendly and approachable, personal neighborhood mechanic vibe.
We bring multiple cars there from our family for simple oil changes, to heat issues, tires, random dashboard warning lights. Would recommend to anyone.
The guys there were a pleasure to work with. They handled my calibration professionally and extremely courteous. I would recommend them 100 times over!!...I'd love To add that, they have made this experience for me. Much more pleasant than I expected and the quality of work is outstanding and I recommend them a 100 times over again.
We have been bringing our cars here for years and have always completely trusted Steve. I had been referred there by a friend and have since referred others there, as well. Most recently, I brought my SUV in because it was sort of bucking when switching gears. Steve called and said it’s the transmission (as we suspected) and quoted me the thousands of dollars it would cost but then added that as much as he’d love to take my money, he suggested that I contact Infiniti as I was just over the 6 year warranty period (I was under on miles). I made a couple of calls to different Infiniti service centers and was told they would not cover it BUT because Steve suggested to contact them, I felt confident to keep asking and eventually I found someone at Infiniti who said “yes, of course we will cover that for you!” I wasn’t believing it until the job was done but I have now picked up my Infiniti which is no longer bucking and did not have to pay a penny toward the repair! Thanks, Steve, for another awesome experience at Nico’s.
I recently had service done, several times, on my automobile at Nico’s Way Automotive repair on Lakeland avenue in Bohemia NY.
I am so happy I found them! Their staff were friendly, polite, and they addressed all my problems quickly , thoroughly and thoughtfully at a fair price. If you need reliable service, they’re the Guy!
I had a disappointing experience with Nicos Way when I brought my vehicle in for a tire alignment. Unfortunately, they were unable to complete the alignment due to two tires needing replacement.
The issue arose when I inquired about the cost of replacement tires during the alignment service. The prices quoted were significantly higher than what I could find elsewhere. As a result, I decided not to proceed with the alignment, as it didn't make financial sense to invest in a service that would ultimately require expensive tire replacements.
While I understand that businesses need to make a small profit on parts, it was disheartening to encounter such a significant price disparity. I had hoped for a fair and reasonable approach, especially considering the reputation of Nicos Way. Their inability to accommodate my alignment needs left me dissatisfied and seeking alternative options.
Have used Nico’s a handful of times now and have been pleased every time! Always willing to accommodate my schedule and work efficiently and quickly. Never overcharged or provided services that aren’t necessary for the sake of adding to my bill. Can definitely trust them with your car!
I was a new customer and I took my car to Nico’s for the first time. I was amazed at the quality of service. My car needed some specific work and they made sure to take care of all the issues well and in a timely manner. Customer service was top notch, too. I would absolutely recommend Nico’s and will be returning when my car next needs service.
Best staff, friendly, chatty. They do excellent work and will stand by it if it isn't adequate (it's ALWAYS adequate). They also will go out of their way to find the means to make the service you need cheaper for you as well.

Was on my way to work when I had a low tire pressure alert. My tire was shredded and they had a new one on within 20 minutes and had me on my way. Great price. Super nice people. Absolutely recommended.

I brought my Mercury Mariner in for service as a new customer and they treated me like family right away.
I work near by, so they allowed me to bring my car in first thing in the morning and they then drove me to work and picked me up later when it was done.
Rich also took the time to explain in detail everything they needed to do before they did it. They showed me the parts they repaired and overall they did a really great job.

The guys at Nico's are always honest, respectful and kind, and are able to make me feel comfortable unlike some other shady auto shops. Besides feeling confident about what I am getting at Nico's, the guys also provide great customer service - even going as far as providing me a ride to and from the shop so I could comfortably and conveniently wait at home while my car was being serviced. I run a business and have 2 commercial trucks that I depend on for my tent rental company, and know that I can depend on Nicos Way if I need a repair done right away in a emergency situation. I also bring my other 3 personal cars to Steve for any service or repair I might need. Reasonable prices with outstanding customer service and knowedgeable mechanics get a A+ in my book.
I've know Steve for several years and know he is highly skilled, broadly experienced and trustworthy. I will gladly drive my car from West Hempstead to Bohemia for any work other than the most simple service. Fair treatment and pricing make the trip worthwhile.
