Ordered all the stuff for my car maintenance visit today. Drove 30 mins to pick it up because it said it’s ready. It was not. Then they proceeded to make me wait 15 mins while they looked for it so now I missed my maintenance visit. Do not go to Mechanicville NY store.
The first issue last summer was non matching colored brake calipers, whatever, returned and sorted out. After that the final straw was the Rear complete struts for my 09 rx350. Installed making noises in the pistons day of. When winter time rolls around, the cheap rubber mounts make every loud squeaking rubber sound imaginable, changing tune the colder it gets. Beginning to understand never put aftermarkets parts these days on your pride and joy, ESPECIALLY SUSPENSION PARTS. And good mechanics will lie to your face when it’s convenient for them, (gas-lit into believing the new noises were not the new complete struts). My genuine advice to this stores manager would be to go through inventory and throw away everything that is certified junk, for the reputation of the store. I’m still in disbelief a year later a company (not oreilly) made these complete struts and thought they were acceptable for any vehicle. Clearly were not tested in cold climates nor bench tested. I’m not even angry at O’reilly’s, just the fact I wasted money, turned my car into a circus mobile in the rear and ruined business with an otherwise decent mechanic, who i think is on account at this store.
These guys have consistently gone above and beyond for my friends and I without fail since this place opened. They're well educated about their products, they're very friendly, very helpful, and their service and expertise is exceptional. I've also never once left without the part or thing I need in hand because they've got everything. If you're wondering if you should go to this store, to that I'd say, you're missing out if you don't. Thank you guys
O'Reilly auto parts has access to a lot of your older vehicle parts when no other part store, including dealers, don't have or can't get the part you need.
Best O'Reilly out there. The Manager, Terry who is called Mags, really knows his stuff. Professional, courteous, knowledgeable and helpful. I won't go to another auto parts store.
First off, I would travel to this oreillys over ANY other one- love coming in to see Christain, great customer service & super knowledgeable. & Can’t forget Walter- the guys here are always laughing & very very helpful. Lou was exceptionally helpful ! We are from CT and out car battery drained. Went tonireilly because my husband works at an O Reilly in CT. Lou tested both the battery and alternator and advised us the problem, helped us find a place to bring it (on a Friday evening)! Very helpful and nice. Thank goodness! Patty and Charlie
Vet very very helpful. Willing to go the extra mile to help in any and everyway possible. Also always always open later than Advance Auto and more knowledgeable workers. Also will always match Advance Autos prices. Can't beat it. So happy they came to town.
Just got off the phone with O'Reilly after completing yet another flawless transaction. Looked all over for a power steering pump, including the standard on-line parts stores, no luck - seems that 1978 parts do not grow on trees.
Not sure why I didn't just call O'Reilly first; probably because I thought the car was too old for them to have parts available. Next time they will be my first call. They had the pump available the same day, price was excellent, and they are having it delivered at no charge to my mechanic. I am embarrassed to not recall the name of the man who assisted me, but not to worry - there are only the best of people working there.
In the past 18 months I have bought 2 batteries there, a few tools, and a steering pump for a 1980 car. I have gotten some great advice and always been treated with respect professionalism and courtesy, even when asking stupid questions :)
Let's make sure we all make a point to purchase there; the store may be part of a chain, but it feels like and runs like everyone there is our local neighbor.
Ask for Chip! It is no overstatement that Chip is the most helpful, handy auto shop expert that I have ever worked with. He really took his time to help me fix my car headlight problem and also understand exactly what the root cause was. Very educational!
Nice place, well thought out and organized. I'm sure one guy at the counter is fine most of the time, but when there's more customers than counter help, to either answer the phone that was ringing off the hook or to help cash customers out.
Called all over for a taillight assembly. They had one at the Colonie store and had it shipped up to the Mechanicsville store within a couple hours. Able to get it installed quickly and back on the road. Thank you!
Has everything you can get at a competing auto parts store.. store brand stuff is good. Staff is knowledgeable. They can help diagnos a problem. Moonlighting mechanics are great for customer service..lol
I have mixed feelings. The staff is wonderful, helpful, and kind, but none of them wear masks, nor do they require customers to wear masks. They also can't trace as some services are free. If you have covid-19 antibodies or have no concerns about the virus, I highly recommend this store. If you have any worries at all about getting the virus, don't go here.
