Definitely a great First Day of the New Year hike and will definitely be going back. Trail though icy was very beautiful and scenic.

Great view of the river. Nice place to go with friends, family and pets

The park is great for hiking. I am giving ONE STAR because of the terrible attitude of the parking attendant at the main gate where you pay $8 to park. I was part of a 50+ person hiking group so when I first arrived the attendant directed me to park in the upper lot. At the end of the hike I wanted to drive down to the bottom lot for the post-hike picnic. The woman at the gate was a bit nasty at first telling me I couldn’t drive down to the lower lot. I explained that I had to deliver some items for the picnic and she insisted I NOT drive down there. I told her that I knew some of the hikers that had parked in the lower lot were leaving and I knew there would be parking spaces available. She told me I was not allowed to even drive down there to drop off the stuff. Finally after a few minutes I said I was going to drive down anyway (instead of being held like a prisoner). She told me I must come back right away - I said I’m not coming back if I find a spot. Well when I got to the lower lot there were 3 spots available. The attitude of the parking lot attendant was awful. Apparently I’m not the first person to complain about the attitude of the staff.

A very nice park. Not a typical beach as there is not much sand. More trees, nature, shade, and a rocky coast. A much cooler place to enjoy the outdoors.

It is always a pleasure to come here and look at that view of the Hudson River and all the riverside villages on the other side with the Tappan Zee bridge in the background.

Park is fine for a picnic afternoon. Very beautiful views of the hudson as well in the lower area. Great hiking trails as well. The only downside was that the bathrooms were really dirty and definitely need more maintenance.

Breathtaking views of the Hudson and surroundings! Wonderful 2 mile walk along the banks of this iconic river.

Such a great five-mile trail along the Hudson that stretches all the way to Haverstraw. Loved by dogs and humans alike. Gorgeous views all the while, lots of shade. A great way to cap a day spent in Nyack. 5 stars!!!

Beautiful Mother's Day morning walk along the Hudson Get there before it gets too busy. There is limited parking. But seems to move. I got there before the rush. Hike to Plateau medium level. Didn't go to Hook mountain, knees were complaining.

Great experience beautiful park tranquil no loud music picnic tables by the river come over and take in the views along the Hudson’s River & Tapanzee bridge.

I hiked the Hook Mountain loop clockwise. The first mile was easy. The last half mile to the top was difficult for me today. Views of the Hudson, Tapanzee Bridge, and Sing Sing prison were awesome. The walk along the shore was cool.

Beautiful area to relax by the waterside or hike a trail. Great walking and biking gravel trail along the Hudson River. Picnic tables and barbecue grills just off the parking lot. Men’s & Women’s Bathrooms at lower and upper parking lot.

Such an amazing park, hidden gem. Little beach area very cute and peaceful. It also has a beautiful long trail for running and hiking.

Short drive from NYC to have such a marvelous nature walk on the water (Hudson River Greenway). Four miles, I believe, path around the peninsula. $8.00 entry fee Picnic tables available · Has barbecue grill · Dogs allowed

Haven't done the entire walk, but the entrance has a few benches, tables to sit down and eat at. Great way to spend a sunset.

Great loop trail up the scarp leading to Hook Mountain. It is gentle sloping most of the time, up and down. Parking is limited and paid. The are restrooms and you can just stay on the foot path along the Hudson. Leached dogs are welcome, along the paths. Please beware that doing the loop trail during or just after raining can be slippery.

1st time visiting this place and the trail walk is very scenic along the hudson river. Along the walk you'll see across the river into westchester county the towns of sleepy hollow and tarrytown. You'll also see the beautiful cliffs as you reach the half mark. You'll see some benches and picnic tables along the path. Restrooms are available at the beggining where the parking lot is located. You'll also see few tables at the beggining of the park. Dogs are welcome and the fee to enter is $8 however it is worth it. Park is clean quiet and relaxing place to spend the day. The trail goes up to Haverstraw so you'll have plenty to walk or ride your bike. Overall my visit here was very pleasant, after I walk a few miles I can back and sat down and just took in the beautiful views while listening to the waves which is very soothing. Definitely recommend whether by yourself or friends and family.

Beautiful, scenic location for long walks or some off trail hiking. Biking as well. The longest trail is just about 6 miles long. During the summer the temperature is almost always cool from the breeze off the Hudson River. Public restrooms in the parking area. Only drawback, parking is $ 8.00. Great place to walk, hike or bike.

Nice and easy walk. Burn all the calories but not your feet. Of course you can always hike up the cliffs for a stronger cardio and breathtaking views!

Nyack Beach State Park is easily accessible. The parking lot can get filled fast so I would suggest arriving early. Trail is gravel from start point to haverstraw is 5.5 miles . EasyPark but that all depends on your level of fitness the hills are not very long or steep.

Beautiful little park with 2 parking lots . I assume that on a sunny day they fill up quickly, but if you are like me and go places when it's raining or later in the day- it's nice and quiet. I even got to see a baby deer ? running around:)

Beautiful view and very relaxing! I would give it 5 stars, but the restroom doesn't have any lights! It's pretty scary once dark and impossible to use because it's pitch black.

Extremely serine and such gorgeous views. The sound of the water transports your spirit and makes it easy to let go of hectic day-to-day thoughts. The shoreline trail is an easy walk and the breeze off the water with gentle cresting waves right beside you makes it a must do imo. You get a chance to see nature from a different perspective. It's not every day you see the remnants of a tree resemble a pig from just the right angle!! At least that's what I see. What do you think? Will definitely go back.

There are bathroom stalls available at the N Broadway parking lot! (Another review said there aren’t any which was misleading for me.) I think you have to pay for parking on weekends but I went on a weekday morning and it was free. Very nice scenic area to hang out even if you’re not hiking. We did the Hook Mountain & Nyack Beach trail from AllTrails clockwise which was the perfect length and difficulty for an enjoyable day hike. The elevation was not bad at all and most of the trail is shaded until you reach summit. Stopped for lunch and 360 views at the top. Since it was a weekday, we didn’t see many people during the hike other than a huge group of dogs from @Takeahikewithdogs so that was pretty amazing. Since we went clockwise (teal markers then white), it ended with a nice flat leisurely walk by the water.

Beautiful hiking trails along the Hudson River! We saw hawks, chipmunks, turkeys, deer, turtles, geese and swans. So nice to be so close to both the city and this lovely state park.

An amazing trial to go for a walk or a simple hike with amazing views of architecture as well as nature. Coming from central New Jersey, I never thought that I would see a place like this close to the city. Hopefully my pictures will do some justice for the views I saw there, but you should definitely take a trip to get pictures of your own. There is also a location for fishing, so grab a reel with bate for your trip.

Lovely little beach area with great views of the Hudson. The parked up the hill - where is large green picnic area. A short wooded hike down gets you to the view and beach area. Great views, lots of shaded hiking trails (and biking trails). Great place for a family hangout and connect with nature.

Also known as, "Hook Mountain.". The main trail is unpaved and flat and goes for at least 5 miles following the contour of the Hudson River on one side and the enormous Palisades cliffs on the other side. Trail is great for walking, for dogs, and for off-road cycling. The trail lets out to small cove beaches on the Hudson...my dog loves to get into the water. There are also a lot of small tributary trails that lead up the mountain to a huge plateau near the top. You may need hiking boots for the tributary trails.
