Terrible place destroying the Finger Lakes region. Let the big cities figure out what to do with their garbage instead of shipping it up here!

This needs to be shut down! I Go to Walgreens at 5:00 and 20 and 441 and a regular basis. I open up my door and all I smell is crap from the dump. I report it and then somebody comes over 2-3 hours later and says "I don't smell anything." It's crazy tht i almost throw up when I smell the trash from that place. Maybe next time I will throw up, put it in a bag and deliver it to Meadows...

I have used this landfill many times in the past several years to dispose of household items and other bulk objects. Years ago, the staff were fair and accommodating to local residence in the area (if I came with my dog, sometimes they would let me in for free) but over the years I have seen this business turn into a company that does not prioritize the local residents, they are too busy making money off of their large contracts with out of state customers. Their prices for the local residence in the area have only gone up over time, I will never use this company again because apparently I am banned from their services because I only had $28 on me when the dump fee was $30, they told me I could drive home to pick up my wallet and go to an ATM to give them the $2, I said that’s ridiculous and they said then don’t come back. They said I am no longer allowed back at their site, all over $2. This is a perfect example of why they need to be removed from Waterloo. They are not interested in helping the local residents, they never have been. If anybody knows how I can get involved in the efforts to see them gone, please let me know. I am happy to appear or sign any petitions that will make this happen. Good riddance.

I was staying at Del Lago Casino and Resort for the night and I could smell the garbage. Normally, you can't smell anything. I guess it depends

Since the landfill in my city doesn't take residential junk and my garbage company wanted to charge me $380, I called Seneca Meadows Landfill. The lady said, yes, I could bring my exercise bike, corrugated metal, toilet, and pallet, even though I'm not a resident of Seneca Falls. If all weighed less that 500 pounds (which it did), it would only cost $30. She gave me clear directions and even treats for my dogs when we arrived. Would highly recommend.

Biggest bunch of dirty "a holes" you will ever come across. It's about money pure and simple. They could care less about the health and safety of Seneca County residents. Leave !!! We don't want you dumping on our beautiful fingerlakes.

Took an educational field trip to Seneca Meadows and was surprised by the efficiency of their operation. Mark was the landfills representation and he took time out of his day to show us around. He was very informative and entertaining!

Visited Seneca Meadows for a school field trip. Very nice facilities and well-run operations. Smell was not as bad as expected, and Mark was very helpful. He was able to answer all of our questions and thoroughly show us how the landfill is run. Definitely would recommend taking a trip here and learning about where your trash goes.

Had nice employees, was a good place to field trip. Would recommend for other people who want to know more about the landfill process.

My AP Environmental Science class recently took a tour of the Seneca Meadows Landfill for an educational field trip. Our tour guide, Mark, honestly deserves a raise. He was very engaging and knowledgeable. He remained professional, but we still had fun and joked around. He explained each and every process in great detail while keeping our attention. For a landfill, it didn't smell as bad as I imagined it would. They are extremely environmentally conscious and they don't receive enough credit for it. Overall, it was a super enjoyable experience and I would encourage other schools to visit.

Last Thursday, my Environmental Science class took a field trip to the Seneca Landfill. As some of my classmates have also mentioned, it was a great and educational experience. I would like to thank Mark, our tour guide, for helping to create this experience. We learned a lot of interesting facts about the way our modern society manages waste, and of how Seneca Meadows Landfill in particular balances efficiency and environmental safety. Thank you Seneca Landfill

My class recently took a tour of Seneca Meadows Landfill, and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Mark gave us a wonderful and insightful tour, inspiring me to throw away more trash. He presented himself professionally and had extensive knowledge about every step in the process of waste management. I recommend everyone takes a trip to Seneca Meadows, it was a spiritual journey with Mark there to guide us every step of the way.

An impressive landfill. Very environmentally conscious, making use of all resources for full efficiency. Mark the tour guide gave me a tour to be remembered. Thank you Seneca Meadows landfill.

Our tour guide Mark was very kind and informative, I enjoyed my experience at this landfill. It was interesting to learn how a landfill really works, aside from my limited previous knowledge. Very environmentally conscious. They use extracted methane to power the surrounding towns. It was truly an experience to remember.

I liked the tour of the location. For a landfill, it seemed rather clean and well-kept (as much as a landfill can be). Surprisingly, the smell wasn't overwhelming as we had assumed. Seeing the operations and daily tasks was interesting. Personally, I enjoyed the use of falcons. Our guide was professional and entertaining. Overall, a good tour. I learned more than I expected and had a good time doing so.

Do you like trash? If so, you've come to the right place. Seneca Meadows is literally a mountain of trash. In fact it's one of the best mountains of trash that you can see or smell for miles around. And don't worry, if you don't want to take the time to go all the way to Seneca Meadows, there's no problem there. You can smell this mountain of trash from anywhere in the upstate New York area. No one in the Seneca area is as committed to creating toxic leachate than Seneca Meadows. If you're looking for some real estate to increase your chances of asthma and autism look no further.

Of course it smells....I can't think of any landfill that wouldn't smell. But I appreciate the ease, location and especially how nice and very helpful every employee is whenever I go there. I will miss this when it is filled and closed. Thank you all employees!

I drove past this landfill for the first time recently and the smell was horrible. I was in the car with all the windows closed and the smell was unbearable. I feel sorry for the people who have to smell that everyday living in the area.

The hours are wrong, look at the other listing below. 6am - 2pm Monday - Friday are the correct hours. And office hours are 8am - 4pm, but phones aren't always manned, so you may need to leave a message.

We're almost to 5,345 feet high! How long until we're the tallest mountain (pile of trash) in New York State! Such a delectable aroma that permeates the entire area!

Would love to take my sons here as they love the garbage dump episode of Mighty Machines on Netflix. I feel it would be a great educational experience. Also, We drive past often for work meetings and love the smell so much. Great ice breaker and topic of conversation when you have new coworkers carpooling with you. Seneca Meadows is such a picturesque name, too. One star off as they don’t do tours.

It’s not the landfill’s fault, but some of the truckers that deliver here are some of the most aggressive, dangerous and scummiest drivers on the thruway. And this is coming from another trucker. Literally every time I am in their vicinity.

Moved to the Geneva/Waterloo area from NC and absolutely loved the area until it rained... This horrible smell filled the air and I soon learned it was from this landfilled miles away in Waterloo/Seneca Falls area. I can't even enjoy the outdoors without getting sick to my stomach. Already looking to relocate which sucks because the area is so beautiful. Definitely will not open my business here.

The Scale house seem to be very angry & dont like to be asked wht to do or where to go aftr weigh in to untarp & use the tipper. 1st time there with big truck & will be the last. Rather drive a lil further thn ever deal with the rudeness & attitude for being a drivers 1st time there & jst wanting to knw the procedure for tht landfill.

Seneca Landfill is where my Aunts friend Lydia works. She does say there's a lot of drama but nevertheless its a great MONEY provider

Why did I go out there on Saturday and was charged to get rid of 600 pounds of waste $24 dollars. Then went with a friend today and it was free? Are the girls in the weight station pocketing money? It's time we clean up Seneca county and wave goodbye to this place.
