I am writing to extend my deepest appreciation for the Home Depot located at 40 west we 23rd street. Two exceptional employees, Tamika and Tia, who turned what began as a challenging visit into a truly uplifting experience. After navigating the store, I made my way to Customer Service, where these two phenomenal women transformed the moment into one of ease, professionalism, and genuine care. Even as the store was preparing to close, Tia and Tamika greeted me with patience, kindness, and dedication. They not only helped me return a damaged product with efficiency, but they also made me feel valued, respected, and seen while upgrading my purchase with additional products on sale. Their positive energy and teamwork reflected a deep commitment not just to their roles, but to the spirit of service itself. Always pleased to encounter individuals who go above and beyond with such authenticity. I’m thankful that Home Depot takes the time to hire employees who genuinely love what they do and it shows. Tia and Tamika embody what customer service should look like: professional, patience, proactive listening, passionate, and purpose-driven. Kudos to these two queens for their excellence, patience, and light. Please extend my heartfelt thanks and recognition to them both. Home Depot is blessed to have such radiant representatives on your team. Anyone who reads this friendly reminder Great people do exist!! Angelic K

Jacob at the Appliance Center was exceptionally patient and helpful this evening. I had ordered a washer and dryer online but had a terrible experience with the delivery team, who struggled to communicate clearly. I went to the store in person to pick up the necessary parts, and Jacob went above and beyond — he thoroughly explained what I needed, helped me gather all the required items, and guided me on the next steps by connecting me with the right person to resolve my online order issue. I truly appreciate his time, expertise, and support tonight.

I hope they didn’t think I forgot about them. I went to this Home Depot due to proximity to where I was. And I was surprised to find exemplary service in the paint department from Tiarra (the pumpkin whisperer) and Kurt who both know this department all too well. I was able to pick up all that I needed to start my paint project. Not only did they know their department we had friendly banter. I’ll be returning and tell Tierra I want to see how her design came out on her Halloween pumpkin. But the friendly courteousness didn’t stop there, upon taking my items up to get checked out it appears that there are multiple staff member at the register who created a great atmosphere: Victor, Petra, Maureesha and Jusiah. Victor rang me up and even assisted me in getting my very first HD credit card. This was very helpful. As he rang me up the rest of the crew were very fun to speak with and clearly know how to blend a good time and getting work done which is rare to see in the service industry (let alone Home Depot). Petra has jokes and Maureesha is clearly an artist how she drew her name with that vibrant design on her apron. Keep up the incredible work guys.

Dee in the blinds section was super helpful and patient. Assisted me with in store shopping and then also helped me with a custom online order. Highly recommend over other nearby options.

Came here a few weeks ago with my bros to look at new washers and dryers for the frat house in Delaware. We looked around at the washers and dryers and decided they were all shit boxes and we r gonna go with a commercial hard mount milnor washer instead. We were trying to be tight asses but knowing how much laundry the frat house produces we need something more industrial. Cool store though I never been to a Home Depot with escalators . That was low key hella cool! We also saw a huge skeleton Halloween decoration and we said howdy to it and the skeleton tipped its cowboy hat at us and said howdy partner. If u don’t say howdy to the skeleton it will bully u and all the employees will laugh at you because you got bullied by a skeleton . Us frat boys got our laundry room all set up. We have 3 60 pound washers and 4 93 pound dryers ! Thanks to milnor that is. We would definitely come back here as this store was very clean and organized and all the employees r super friendly.

I've been to several home depot. by far this location is staffed by the calmest, most helpful, resourceful employees. Every where you look someone is willing, able and ready to answer all your questions, give suggestions and full interaction. It is very clean and pleasant. Fully stocked to the top. I love the 23rd street home depot.

I’m not a fan of Home Depot at all, but this one in the middle of the Flatiron district is big, clean, and the employees are very helpful. My son was moving into his apartment nearby and we needed to pick up a few things. I found everyone in the store very nice and informative. They helped us pick out room, darkening curtains, and a wall air conditioner. Couldn’t ask for any better service. Thank you.

Went this evening and had the best experience! A kind older Black woman helped me with plants, and at checkout a male employee ran to help me carry my big plant. Amazing customer service at this location!

Home Depot, you need to take responsibility for your shippers... it is never "out of your hands", I am still your customer and not your 3PL company's. I received a delivery notification for an order but never physically received the unit. Home Depot opened up a case but then apparently closed it without notifying me. When I called, I was told that the shipper delivered the missing unit and pointed me to a photo - they had dropped it on my building's front stoop on the street level. I live in NYC. Of course I never received it b/c it seems to have walked off on it's own. I was told to file a claim with the shipper and a police report, and there is nothing Home Depot can do. I blame Home Depot and will order next time from someone who uses a more reliable shipper and takes full responsibility for the customer experience.

An extremely extensive hardware store for the middle of Manhattan, there’s a ground level with home appliances and lighting and a sprawling basement with anything else you could need.

Key copies for $5 ish, and absolutely everything else you’d need! Folks doing the key copies were a bit slow so there was a considerable wait, but I’ve always loved Home Depot overall. Super organized store, the app will tell you exactly where each product is down to the aisle, bay within each aisle, and where all that is on a multi-level store map. Cute garden center too! : ) always friendly and helpful staff!

I had a wonderful experience at this home Depot, I needed to return an air conditioner support and Tamika from Customer Service did an incredible job helping me. she was knowledgeable, warm, friendly and efficient. I felt well taken care of in her hands. with people like her working here, you can trust they will go above and beyond!

I had a great experience at the Home Depot on 40 W 23rd Street, especially thanks to GRACE in the garden section. She helped me pick out two beautiful plants and a plant pole, and gave me some amazing tips on how to care for them. She was super kind, patient, and really knew her stuff. GRACE made my visit so much better—I hope the store knows what a gem she is!

your posted hours clearly state closing at 8:00 PM—both on your website and on Google. yet at 7:27 PM, the doors were already locked and i was told you were closed. if your hours changed effective today, the bare minimum would be updating your google listing. that’s basic customer communication. instead, this was a complete waste of time. no update, no sign, no notice—just locked doors and confusion. completely unprofessional and avoidable.

I have been to at least 5 different Home Depot’s in the last couple of years and this one was by far the best! Organized, clean, vast selection, beautiful plants, but what really impressed me was the staff. Especially being in NYC, I’ve never been to a store where EVERY single staff member that spoke with me was kind, friendly, and legitimately helpful. Highly recommend!

Terrible Delivery Experience I’m writing to formally express my deep dissatisfaction with the service I have received in relation to a recent sofa order placed through your store. This experience has been frustrating, stressful, and deeply disappointing. The order was not delivered on time, and the delivery date was changed twice with little explanation. When it finally did arrive, only a few cushions were delivered — the rest of the sofa was inexplicably lost. To add insult to injury, we were told we would need to return the cushions ourselves in order to get a refund. We were then required to re-order the entire sofa, and due to all these delays, it has now taken over three weeks to receive a complete order. This situation has been particularly difficult because my wife is heavily pregnant, and we have just moved apartments. She has had no sofa to sit on during this critical time, which is simply unacceptable. Additionally, we had family visiting for the 4th of July who were planning to sleep on the couch — and now they can’t, due to this series of mistakes. This has been a terrible experience from start to finish. I expected far better from a company as large and well-known as Home Depot. Given everything we’ve been through — the inconvenience, lack of communication, and sheer lack of responsibility — I will not be using Home Depot again for any future purchases and will be sharing this experience with others. I expect a response and some form of resolution or compensation for the inconvenience and stress this situation has caused.

I’m writing to share feedback about a recent in-store return experience at your 40 W 23rd Street location involving a 6,000 BTU AC unit I purchased online on June 7, 2025. It was delivered to my apartment on June 10, and I attempted to return it on June 22. Initially, I tried returning the item via UPS through the online portal, but the system required me to bring it in store, likely due to the unit’s weight. Though I would have preferred not to carry the item uptown, I made the trip. Once at the store, I waited a couple of minutes without being greeted, even though several employees nearby were talking. When I asked if I was in the correct place, I was met with a sarcastic greeting instead of assistance. I explained that I was trying to return an unopened AC unit, and the associate immediately questioned when I purchased it. She pointed to a sign stating a new 7-day return policy effective June 16, 2025. I explained that my purchase and delivery both occurred before that policy change, and my receipt clearly stated I had until September to return the item. Despite this, the associate continued to insist the return couldn’t be processed. I asked for escalation, and the assistant manager echoed the same response, confidently stating the return wasn’t allowed. After calmly restating the facts, the manager walked away without explanation, and the return was eventually processed (see attached receipt, time-stamped 12:45 PM on June 22). While I appreciate that the return was ultimately accepted, the experience felt dismissive and unprofessional. I understand policies change, but when they appear to conflict or apply retroactively, customers deserve to be heard before being turned away. I remained respectful throughout, but I left feeling the situation could have been handled with far more care and courtesy. I hope this feedback helps guide future training and improves how returns are handled moving forward.

I had excellent customer service from Mike C., picking up my mini fridge from the 23rd Street Home Depot NYC. He knew where it was placed for pickup and was very helpful and am sure could have easily answered any other questions I might have had. I have found that store associates at the Manhattan 23rd Street Home Depot store are the best and it shouldn't be a secret. Thanks so much for having a great Home Depot store for us to shop at. I honestly don't have anything negative to say about this location of Home Depot. I've been frequenting this Home Depot for years now and it never disappoints. The staff is always kind and helpful and whether I need paint, tools, a variety of plants to spruce of my home, I can always find it at home depot. I mean seriously, this place helped me do a renovation on my home back in 2018. I bought SO many items such as tools, an AC, vinyl flooring, plants etc. They have everything with a very decent return policy if something doesn't work out as intended. They have seld check out registers as well as cashiers on the tills. In my opinion, the lines aren't that bad either. The prices are okay for a brick and morterstore and they have great hours from opening to close to get everything you need. My one gripe is that employees of stores such as this is that.... they should be PAID better. I'm giving a 5 Star review because of the people who work there and how helpful they are..... consistently. So please pay the employees more for their effort. Just saying.

This is a gorgeous HD store right in the heart of Flatiron area. It spreads over three floors. Very clean. Upper floor mostly has electronics, sales and management offices. Beautifully decorated with plants and trees, a rare sight for any HD. First floor has the customer service, Pro project desk and checkout. Lower floor is the largest floor among all. Throughout the store they have incredible number of products, with lots of variety in inventory. Lots of associates are walking around the store, some are always available in the customer service desk. Products are priced same as the prices on their website, it’s not hiked up despite the store being in the city. I have walked into the store several times for different needs like making copies of keys, buy scissors, paper tape, glue and bunch of other things time to time. They have lots of self checkout booth, I never had to wait in line.

This Home Depot has an incredible wide selection of houseplants which includes the most common ones and a few more rare varieties. The staff was helpful and knowledgeable. The store is clean and organized. Plants are healthy and they’re reasonably priced.

An ideal place to find household supplies and get some plants! There are many options for the greenery. Not the hugest Home Depot for sure, but a very convenient location to check. No lumber slicing service in Manhattan.

This is hands down one of the nicer Home Depot stores I’ve been to. They have a great rug selection in stock in various sizes. There are plenty of store associates who are ready to assist. Check out was also quick considering there were several people in line.

The home Depot is one of the go to places for all your home needs. They always have a wide variety of necessities. They're also a season ahead, so the Halloween and fall decor are already out. Everything is always so neat and organized it's really easy to find anything. The staff of each department is very knowledgeable. I recommend getting a store card, you'll get discount too. Definitely check them out and you wouldn't be disappointed

Couldn't find an item I was searching for at my nearest Home Depot. I decided to visit this location and they had everything I needed and more. The staff at this location was exceptional helpful. The staff were very attentive asking if I needed assistance. The store was very clean and organized. When you're ready to check out there is the self checkout option or the regular registers. As soon as I got to the registers there were registers open. Check out was a breeze. The lockers were also in plain sight in case you're doing in store pick up. This location is great.

Great experience at the Chelsea Home Depot. Employees, security and all staff are friendly and helpful. Everyone is usually happy to help you find item you're looking for or will you in the direction of employee who works in that department. Pretty good sales usually best to use app and see if they have what you want in stock as was as if it's on sale. Recommend?

Such a cool and unique Home Depot! Being from the Midwest I had never seen this type of Home Depot before so was very intrigued to see how those in NYC shopped at a store such as this. They had the majority of stuff you'll find at most Home Depots. They do not cut lumber and I didn't really see a huge lumber selection overall. I'm assuming this just because of logistics and that you can't really fit any big trucks or trailers in a parking lot out front(it's just right on the street). However for all other home items or tools and such; this is the place to go.

It's bigger than your local hardware store. But smaller than your typical Home Depot. This place has two floors. Escalators to go down. It even has self check out, which is great for when you have one or two items. It's grab and go during a lunch break or after work. It's about a block from the train station too. It usually has all the items I need for typical home repair. I come here often when I need something for my house. I really like that you can order what you need online and then pick it up in person at the customer service desk. The people who work here are very friendly and helpful too! Cons: Since it's a small store, you're unable to cut the wood you buy here like you would at a typical Home Depot. The tool rental section here can be hit or miss because it's a smaller store.

There is not a lot of good hardware places around the city that offers the array of items that home depot does. This one has just about anything you could need for small home or apartment improvements. They even have a pretty decent selection of plants. The staff are pretty helpful.
