Made a reservation and received a confirmation email and confirmation number for my reservation. Showed up at the agreed-upon time and was told I didn’t have a reservation.
When we provided the confirmation email, the girl at the office told us that they called us to tell us they canceled the reservation.
We have no missed calls from Ryder, no emails confirm confirming a cancellation and no voicemails.
When we expressed our frustration, she told us that we should check our messages.
Beware – if you call to make a reservation and receive a confirmation number, it means nothing. They’ll just tell you that they canceled the reservation And you should’ve checked your messages, That don’t exist.
I’m a regular client of the Farmingdale location. Over the last few months we have had nothing but broken trucks. Even when they send a replacement that we have to wait hours for, that replacement truck has issues. The trucks are not drivable. Stay away from this Ryder.
The Team at Ryder Farmingdale is Fantastic to deal with. We wouldn’t go anywhere else to rent the trucks we need and use on a regular basis.

My truck broke down on the worst day of this winter at 3am on the LI E 495 exit 51 luckily I was by the LI welcome center where I was able to keep warm It took about an hour for the tow truck to arrive and he took me to the Farmingdale Ryder shop and those guys were awesome they fixed my unit and even had coffee and donuts for me in less than 31/2 hours I was on my way back on the road the diesel line had gelled up they put treatment in the diesel tanks put in a new filter charged my battery and I was able to finish my route and go home cause that's what I was thinking about the whole time being home nice and warm! I’ve rented a truck from Ryder in Farmingdale several times these guys over here always come through for me they go above and beyond to be helpful they are very courteous and extremely professional and the whole process from pickup and drop off is quick easy and painless would highly recommend them to anyone needing a truck rental
I rented from Farmingdale Central Ave location. From first call inquiry to pick up and drop off the Ryder employees were perfect. Mr. Ryder would be very proud. A first class operation. Other places I've tried are several notches below this location. Shout out to Scott and Michael
I had a horrible experience. I bought a 26ft box truck that was considered “Ryder Certified.” However, it failed DOT inspection the same day I brought it home and it took 2 weeks for them to determine who was responsible for fixing the brakes. Then, the sales manager screwed up the title situation which prevented me from registering the truck for almost 2 months. By the time I finally got it on the road, the check engine light came on for DEF issues. The sales manager gave me the run around and apparently, none of the warranties cover this repair; all this occurred and I didn’t even reached 1k in miles yet.
Then, my mechanic tells me that Ryder has already been in the engine because things have been taken apart and weren’t properly secured, so all 6 were failing. When I bought the issue to the sales manager, he informed me that he would talk to his boss about the issues. It’s been 2 months and I never heard anything back from him. Everything cost a total of $27k, on a truck that was originally purchased for $34k. Not including the $10k in rentals I gave to my local Ryder shop within the last 4 months.
If I can do zero stars I would. Has a terrible experience with sales associate John. Don’t recommend you going. They know very little and they are no help. Stay away!

Only one star because I used to smoke quit back in 2010 and I avoid the smoke this rental had a bad cigarette smell and I felt so bad, even to breath in ot. I had to spend money out of pocket to clean and take as the bad smell out but still got into clothes.
*Note* Ryder should be very careful to instruct not to smoke inside, because the headache and nicotine all over me was very unpleasant. I should sue you Ryder..........
