I’ve been coming to champion auto For 7 years and won’t go anywhere else. I have a pick up truck that takes a lot of abuse on the city streets and these guys are always there to keep me running. I’ve had a lot of work done and they are super fair and extremely reliable. Always keep me on schedule with any upcoming work and relive a lot of stress.
Just over priced. 145$ plus tax for an hour. And then they over charge you on jobs that take less time for jobs that take an hour or even 2 hours. When i got the work done at another shop it didn't take a full hour or 2 hours. Also the parts they try to get are the most expensive ones, so the price is double. Great service, but expensive. I winded up getting my car fixed elsewhere and saved big.
Mechanics here are totally dishonest and incompetent. They misdiagnosed my problem, repeatedly lied about repairs they did (I checked their work). On top of that they did extra work that I didn't ask for, charged me for the poor quality work, broke an expensive replacement part that I brought them, refused to admit any fault or wrong doing, kept my car for much longer than they said they would, and finally left it parked on the street for days with the doors unlocked. This place is a total mess - Huge waste of my time and money! To the management - you need to find some better mechanics that are honest and know what they are doing!
Had the best experience with Champion Auto! The team fixed our very dated car that had an A/C issue that 2 mechanics prior could not figure out how to permanently fix. Pricing was fair & transparent and communication was top notch: Wendy + team were attentive and responsive. Honest and reliable..thank you!
I’ve brought my car in twice for two service related issues and had an excellent customer experience both times. As a car person I’m really picky about who works on my vehicle and the folks at Champion are professional, reliable, and honest - what more could you ask for? This is my new go to garage.
Brought my car into the shop on 7/29/24 and all went well. Moe got me a rental and I went through insurance. Weird but moe insisted I sign all the checks (blank) to the shop directly from insurance to them. He promised me my car will look “brand new”.
I left my car in the shop for 3 months and I received one call. I always had to call the shop for updates and it seems like I had to get my updates from my adjuster because the job was taking too long and my insurance adjuster had to find out why. Geico stop my rental after 52 days and I was left using my second car. The shop tried giving me back my car with 1/4” spacing difference on my trunk and quarter panel. Paint no blended and terrible fitment on everything possible from tail lights to bumper alignment. Insurance adjuster went to check out the vehicle and said that the car is unacceptable. After two months they found out my trunk needed to be replaced with all its components. I got back my car after 3 months and the car still looks like it came out of a junk yard. My window got scratched in the process and somehow they cut my weather strip inside the trunk. The paint is still not blended and I don’t have words to describe my 2023 Honda accord. I have a many shades of blue and a dull paint shop. The painting booth here is inside 3 shower curtains held together. I contacted my insurance adjuster and he and moe agreed to fix my car for the third time. Still waiting to get scheduled and I’m hoping they get it right this time.

Wonderful experience from top to bottom. Above and beyond. Kind folks. Clean shop. It was my first time using them for an oil change. I also asked them to see if they thought I needed a tune-up. They said they'd check and I expected of course they'd suggest something more - but they said they looked it all over and everything looked great. They made a loyal customer today.
Champion Auto is the BEST! We had an electrical problem on our 2005 Rav4. At first we thought it was only the battery needing to be replaced, which they did for a reasonable price. We continued to have problems. It was not an easy fix (and if you google electrical problems you'll see it can be difficult AND expensive.) They discovered our alarm was pulling the charge; they disconnected the alarm and we've had no problems since. To add to the good work, they declined to charge for fixing the alarm problem. When did you ever hear of a mechanic not charging? They will be my go-to for all repairs and inspections from now on.
My car had a very minor yet potentially catastrophic problem caused by bad work at another garage. Staff here were super courteous, car was ready same day and they didn't charge me because the issue was so minor!!! Even though, seriously, it would have destroyed my car if i kept ignoring it and they still had to do work to diagnose, correct and replace a part. Obviously this will be my new garage going forward.
Champion has become my go-to spot for maintenance and inspections. I’ve been several times, and the service has always been super smooth. The staff at the front desk are efficient and knowledgeable, and will do their best to accommodate scheduling constraints. When I did have an issue with a leaking tire, they went out of their way to source a matching one from a tire shop they’re friendly with, same day. They were transparent and comprehensive about my options and the pricing, with no pressure.
Today I went in for an inspection, and they filled up my (empty) washer fluid, without even mentioning it or charging me. I only found out when I went to refill it at home. What a nice place!
We've begun taking our car to Champion for routine service and minor issues, and they've been superb. Most recently we had a slow leak in one tire and they took care of it within a few hours for an extremely reasonable price. Generally speaking the office staff is very nice and helpful, and the mechanics are friendly and efficient. Also, in contrast to our experience with the dealership, they don't conjure up expensive unnecessary work after doing a regular maintenance check, though they will give a heads-up about things that might be needed down the road, which helps to plan. They've been exactly what we were looking for in a car shop.
[Update on that last part: I took our car in for the annual state safety and emissions inspection this week, and instead of being in and out with my sticker in an hour, as I've been at other places in the past, they came back recommending $1,500 worth of maintenance. I don't doubt that the work is going to be necessary at some point in the not-too-distant future, but almost none of it had come up when I brought the car in for regular servicing. It seemed like this might be SOP for the annual inspections. I have some sympathy, because the inspection fee isn't really worth the shops' time, but personally I'd much rather this sort of thing come up when I've brought the car in for maintenance, not when I'm just there to get the stupid sticker and get on my way.]

The Champion team are truly champions! I had scheduled an inspection with them and ended having problems with my car when I arrived, Jeffrey at Champion was professional, put me at ease and handled my whole situation. The repairs to my car were quick, seamless, and the whole team kept me up to date along with being transparent about cost which was amazing. I can't say enough and was so happy to be referred to them from a friend since I will most definitely refer friends in the future and will use Champion for any future needs.
As a woman it’s hard to trust mechanics in New York, I’ve had a lot of bad experiences and I’m sure I’m not alone. However, Champion is one of the rare auto shops that treat with respect and are extremely clear about their work and pricing. I’ve used them for one repair job and to do less invasive mechanical work and both times was extremely impressed.
A bunch of businesses out there couldn't care less about quality. It's all about the fast and cheap. Not at Champion.
A well built piece of furniture you can hand down through the generations. Fine cheese that knocks your socks off. Why? Because the makers did it the right way. The people at Champion are a part of that group. They do things the right way.
They replaced my suspension. They performed major maintenance on my vehicle. I caught a flat on a road trip home from Georgia. The guy at a big box auto shop off of I-95 told me he couldn't repair it. New Tire. Definitely. I used my compressor to keep the tire inflated until I could get it back up to Champion. I did not need a new tire. Twenty bucks.
Services here are great. The staff is welcoming and clear. They are always busy and still they take their time to explain what needs to be done. They send a quote with the cost before they do any work so I always know how much to pay. I have an old luxury car from 2003 and they always find the parts I need for repairs. The place is busy, make sure to come prepared to leave the car for longer than a day.
My mechanic closed down his shop and Champion took my car in the day it broke down- I was weary of the suggested fixes because I knew I just needed a battery but my car is driving so much better. I noticed the improvements immediately. Glad I found them (and they were recommended by a friend). Fast service too. Definitely going back.
We moved to NYC from the DC area a few years ago, and finding a decent place to get our Mini Cooper serviced has been rough. The dealer in Manhattan tried to rip us off by recommending services we didn’t need. Then we went to Minh in Brooklyn; they were OK to deal with, but the prices were egregiously high - even higher than the dealer. So we went to Champion at the recommendation of a friend, and think we have found our new place. They did good work, delivered the car on time, were very friendly, and their rates were 25-30% lower than Minh by my estimation. It was only our first visit, but hopefully we have found our long-term solution.
Everyone who works here is so nice and friendly, from the front office staff to the mechanics. They are responsive, give honest quotes, and get the job done fast! I've gone for oil changes, filter replacements, and coolant and transmission fluid replacements. I'll definitely be going back for maintenance.
Driving in NYC is not easy nor is owning a car. Worse is trying to find a reputable mechanic, well look no further.
After having purchased my car out of lease, I decided never to go back to a dealership, but didn’t really have a good mechanic to rely on. While speaking to someone at an auto body shop, they recommended Champion auto.
As I was in need for an oil change, I called up and asked if I could just swing bye they invited me right over. I asked them to examine my brake pads and miraculously, they told me I was fine and the car was in great shape, and all I needed was a oil change.
You can imagine my surprise when my new found mechanic said I didn’t need work done on my car. I have since been back more than once for some filter changes and I find them wonderful to work with, communicative, and well priced.
Whether you are in the area or need to drive here and drop your car off, I would say it is 100% worth it. I am thrilled to have discovered the team at Champion auto.
Service was beyond I expected! I was looking for the place on Saturday for inspect my car. I just walked in and didn't expect them to take me, but they were able to squeeze me in :) The mechanic was very nice, professional and waiting time wasn't long. Price point was good. I'm glad I got everything done in one day.
I wish I could give them 10 stars! They know cars and will fix your problem the right way. I went to multiple mechanics and was told that my engine needs to be replaced at a cost of $7000+. Here John told me I only need to flush the engine fluid at a minimal cost and my problem will be solved. This was last winter and I waited until the hot summer days before writing this review to see if his solution would work. I am happy to say that the problem is completely fixed and he has become my go-to mechanic for everything since then. His prices are reasonable and he has even thrown in some things for free! The whole staff are very welcoming and eager to please.
I was in an auto collision. Champion did an extraordinary job in the repair of my vehicle. They were very professional at every step, always followed through, gave updates and were an invaluable partner in dealing with my insurance company. I would recommend 100%. Scheduling an appointment was easy and staff are friendly and works with your schedule. I took my car in due to an oil leak, mechanic reviewed the issue and assured me it will get fixed that day. My car was repaired and price was reasonable. Everyone was professional and the receptionist was so friendly and understanding. I plan on bringing my daughter and husband's car for inspection in the next couple of weeks. Thank you for your top quality service.
I was looking online to see where to get battery changed for my Mini Cooper. After some search landed on champion auto to be the best choice. Spoke with very friendly and professional Kimberly and she made an exception and got me in for the same day batter replacement. While I was there, I met the owner as well, who is a gentleman and provides 5 star service. I was really impressed with their work. They got everything take care of within few hours, and hands down the best price. They 50% to 100% cheaper than any other quote I received. Highly highly recommend them.
I had my alternator fixed here and it was an urgent job, their team had it done in one day! They next day I came and drove away, my car working perfectly. Their intake team is very efficient and polite, excellent customer service compared to many other garages in the city.
John is such a sweetheart as well! He takes a look at every car that comes in and will take the time to talk to you about your car's issues various solutions. I felt like I was really taken care of here.
I consider myself lucky to have found this auto shop in the neighborhood when I needed an inspection. Since then I’ve gone back for body work and other repairs and they are by far one of the nicest, straightforward, and reasonably priced car shops I’ve ever dealt with. Honest, fair prices and always feel that they take the time to hear out my questions and provide helpful answers. They’ve been able to fix things even the dealer was lost on, which says a lot.
They were able to squeeze me in for my annual car inspection, even though they were busy and didn't make an appointment. Everyone in the shop was courteous and customer focused. Without an appointment was able to be in and out under an hour. Definitely would come back here if I need other work done if this is how they treat just a regular inspection customer.
I was happy with Champion. They made my repair experience stress free and they didn't try to push any unecessary repairs on me. Additionally, their prices were good. I looked up costs for new brakes and rotors online and Champion was in-line. Lastly, my car was ready exactly when they said it would be. Would recommend them.
