High prices , most products I’ve encountered are close to expiring . Trust me the store looks nice and some parts of the store do a good job with serving sandwiches and cooked food . Not worth paying the high prices . Go to food bazaar .
Terrible experience. My 90 year old grandmother who barely speaks English was accused of stealing by a security guard. When she produced her receipt, he didnt want to look at it and with a smile kept harassing her at which point she felt super embarrassed and almost fainted in front of everyone. The security guard kept a smile on his face the whole time while he tormented her and didn't want to look at the receipt at all. Finally the cashier she was just at said she paid for everythibg and he just started laughing. My grandma is now too scared shop there and at her age it is hard to walk to another market. The security guard is a sadistic person who enjoys preying on the elderly who have limited English..... just sad and pathetic for a staff member of this community supermarket to treat one of their regular patrons this way.

Today, November 18, 2024 I went to buy a turkey and for a10 pound turkey, they wanted $30 for it, not including the tax. This place is price bulging. Over priced on everything I feel bad for the people that have no other choice but to shop here and they know this area really don’t have many supermarkets so they go up on their prices even more. This is disgusting. Don’t recommend anyone to come here. I would’ve gave you a no star review!
I will be shopping at the Gateway ShopRite from now on. They will tell you to check in your literal purse, personal belongings, and reusable shopping bags. I was told I had to have someone escort my bag after shopping to put my groceries in them. If I am inconvenienced, I no longer want to shop.
This place is horrible I bought my groceries and had to use the bathroom. The lady at the register act like she didn’t hear me. I went to the security guard and he said the bathroom was broken. Selling all that food and that nasty buffet isn’t that illegal not having a bathroom working with all that food! That food looked disgusting by the way just sitting there all day!
I’ve tried for the last time to buy a chopped salad! The toppings aren’t fresh and the other Spanish girl doesn’t speak English very well. The lettuce was soggy and the tuna was cheap!!!!
If you don't speak Spanish, DO NOT GO HERE!! If you have to order a hero or something, they will get your order ALL WRONG‼ English isn't my first language either. But these people need to do SO MUCH BETTER ‼ I'M DONE WITH THEM! I WILL NEVER BUY A HERO FROM HERE AGAIN! I MAY NEVER GO BACK HERE!! HORRIBLE, JUST HORRIBLE ‼ My hero was not only made incorrectly. I have lived around here for about 5 years and they still have yet to make a change with their customer service. I go there at least once a week with my gym bag, not once am I stopped to leave it at security ( mind you, all of my personal things are in this bag) and today the security is literally screaming to me as I’m walking to look at their horrible fruits to leave my bag then starts to talk in Spanish which I completely understood being Dominican myself. Don’t start trash talking in your own language because I promise you, you will meet the wrong one who understands everything. They real lucky I just wanted to go back home but that was most definitely embarrassing. Let it happen again and we shall see who’s going to be embarrassed. This supermarket just seems to keep getting expensive also. They shouldn’t be open at this point, hiring horrible employees with no etiquette and not offering the quality of food you’re paying for.
I went to the city fresh on Pennsylvania Avenue this afternoon and brought some stuff as I was walking out the young kid at the front ask for my receipt and I asked him why and the manager comes up to me and ask for my receipt and I asked him why he says one of the workers saw me put something in my bag I said you have got to be kidding me I paid for my purchase and I put my stuff in my bag. I showed him my receipt however, he didn’t tell me who said it. I am so appalled that they would embarrass me like that I don’t have to steal because I have money. I think they are racial profiling because the only people they stop areAfrican-Americans I will never ever go to any City Fresh store again And I used to go to this store at least 4 or 5 times a week. If I could sue the store I would!!!
I have a complaint about this supermarket. My aunt had bought some groceries and 2 cases of water. The water was never delivered, went back there and they were very uncooperative on retrieve another recepit or look at camera footage. They took advantage of my elderly aunt. Still water. Elderly people please pay attention to all business that bein conduct
The fruit and veggies aren't too expensive. They have a bakery area and you can get freshly prepared sushi by the chef that's there. There's also a hot and cold food buffet. I avoid buying meat and fish there. It's not the freshest. I once bought a bag of frozen shrimp that was very smelly and old. I never used it. Won't ever buy meat or fish there again. During the covid lockdown, they price gouged. Since they did that, I only go there in an emergency.
I’m so glad that I have the opportunity to give this review, 5 Stars goes to your buffet bar. I particularly love your Eggplant Parmesan—I buy it [e]very time it’s served!! Yum! Yum! However, on this day 12/10/22, there was something different about this Eggplant Plant Parmesan —Ricotta Cheese and oregano garnishing!!? Overkill! And way too much sodium… FYI, I love the salad bar. Not to worry, I’m a patriot of your supermarket/buffet; I look forward to continue to indulge myself to the finest Eggplant Parmesan in ENY.

The staff talk way more than they work ! The prices are not worth it and the owner is always there flirting with the workers instead of conducting business! There is no diversity in that work place and let’s not get started on the old stale pastry that they promote as fresh
I’m giving this place 5 stars because lf the staff. Most of them are very friendly. However, there is one of them that is consistently excellent with customer service. This is the security Guard in all black. To Management, he is a great asset to your business and personnel like him is hard to come by. Treat him well!
I should preference this by saying, I get groceries delivered to my home every month and sometimes twice in one month.
The Manager, the delivery person and the one who does the actual shopping have ALWAYS been professional, patient, kind and accommodating. They call when they don't have the specific item I requested, and ask if I would like to replace it with something else; they NEVER do anything without asking me first and I appreciate that!
Since I've become disabled going grocery shopping was an arduous task that continously proved to be a huge stressor in my life. Thanks to the "delivery" service at City Fresh the burden of going grocery shopping has been lifted and it has been alot easier on me. THANKS TO ALL THE STAFF AT CITY FRESH... I appreciate you!

The workers are rude and unprofessional. The rude female that works the Deli needs to learn about customer care and common decency. She is on the phone while taking your order. Very short with customers, and has the audacity to have an attitude when I am trying to make sure my order is correct. Bad enough they're expensive, and then you have to deal with attitudes. Yea I'm good on them
Horrible supermarket, not only do you have to pay attention to expiration dates due to the food always being expired, but the staff there are rude. I understand if you don’t like your position, but that should not be expressed in your everyday duties. I spoke with the manager and he supports that type of behavior. They need public service training.
This place was always overpriced but now during the pandemic, they are price gouging. Their produce is also overpriced and so is the dairy. They don’t have a great variety of vegetables and they keep them soaking wet. Many of the employees aren’t English speakers. Poor customer service too. I only go because they are across the street but I wish another company could manage that building.
It's a really good market if you're looking for fresh produce. I've scavenged half of Brooklyn looking for ripe, fresh and organic avocado for my wife. I finally found it there so I'm grateful. Plus they offer a shuttle service and delivery with purchases of 50 dollars or more. I think that's incredible. I'll definitely be shopping there from now on.
You get three stars because the supermarket looks so much nicer than how it was before. Although I see more healthier choices I would like to see more organic fruits and vegetables like apples and pears.
Also I would like to see the prices go down. I think your prices are higher than your competitors especially on the nuts.
There selection of food has expended but very expensive , greedy and can be flat out rude. Caught management making fun of an employee because she had an afro. Came back a couple of days later, she had permed her hair. And for that, i will not patronage their service. Not to mention outdated products. No bueno!!
They remodeled the store, thank goodness. Looks much better now. However, the delivery service was horrible! I live 8 minutes walking distance from the store but they took 2 hours to deliver my groceries. I had milk and other frozen items...smh. Never again
I go here almost every day, and my grandmother knows a lot of people from there, since before they were transfered to different places. Have been going here for years as well. They have renovated a couple of times, and add something that you would have never thought you wanted or needed. There may be some high prices, but my overall experience is great.
You have to be very careful when purchasing food items. You must check for expiration dates because this store has a tendency of selling items that has expired or close to expiration dates. Do not buy meats because the meats are not stored at the correct temperatures. This store should be reported to the FDA. This store on saving grace is that the cashiers are very nice.
The customer service at this Easy Market location is horrible. The website charges much higher prices than the products you receive. This is my last time doing business with this store. I paid $14.00 for 2 packs of ground beef and I was sent a pack totaling $7.00. I was told when I called that the website has it's own prices and that was that. I was not going to get another pack and I would just have to count my additional $7.00 as a loss. It may seem small but this always happens, one pound of tomatoes turns into 1 small tomato etc.. I advise anyone who continues to do business with this location to look at the price they pay online for their meats and compare the actual product they receive and they will see that they are robbed every time. They also pick horrible produce, fruits that are on its way out that you would not have selected had you picked in store. Customer service sucks as this store's policy is that the customer is always wrong!
The food court is amazing! Love the fact that there's a juice bar, fresh salads and even sushi. I'm very impressed by the cleanliness of the store and shelves are always well stacked. They are always giving prizes away to show customer appreciation too. I love this store!!!
