Since purchasing my Land Rover, I have been fortunate enough to find L&M Foreign Cars—some would say a godsend. The owners are very hands-on, and the technicians are quite knowledgeable. They take the time to explain things to you, keep you updated, and do all they can to ensure your car leaves running perfectly.
Throughout the years, they have worked on everything from small maintenance jobs to bigger projects, and I always have a feeling that they are using the best parts and do things the right way. You can say they absolutely care about their work and their customers.
I acquired my Land Rover in 2021, and from then on, Mr. Bill, Mark, and the whole team have been the only ones allowed to touch my car, and it will never change.

Excellent service, expert mechanics, very happy with them. I used to service my Volvo in the official dealership in CT, but as my car got older I just got priced out. It took me years to find a good service and knowledgeable repair shop. Can't recommend L&M enough. Not the easiest location for me, but certainly worth the trip.
I came across L & M some years back when I had a 2007 Mini Cooper, they repaired my Mini Cooper better then when I first bought it used! Since then I was sold! I don't let anyone touch my car except L & M, unless it's an emergency and I have no other choice! Since then I purchased a VW Jetta and traded it in for a Mini Cooper 2Seater! I have received nothing other than great service for any car that I've ever bought to L & M for service!
This was the worst experience I've had with both customer service and the actual service. Every single thing they did on my car needs to be redone within 2 years.
My initial experience was.....after they did the work, my car made a sound it didn't make before taking it there. I tried having them figure it out and the older man ended up yelling at me, telling me he would not do anymore work to find the sound. I ended up going directly to BMW who stated the issue was that they didn't properly fasten a bolt which was the cause of the sound. BMW fastened the bolt. (They called BMW to verify this information)
Because the older man refused to fix the issue I now had an additional bill from BMW and also for a car rental, while the car was at BMW. I contacted my attorney and let L&M know what my next step were going to be and the son, who was always polite, offered yo refund me BMWs diagnostic charge and the cost of the rental.
2 years later, the car is back in the shop with the EXACT issues that they were supposed to fix, i mean EXACT. This is on a car that is usually parked, only driven maybe 5000 a year, if that, and have very low mileage.
I didn't write a review prior because I didn't feel the need to share a negative experience as sometimes things happen but for me to have to redo work that they charged me 6k for is ridiculous and im so disappointed.
The best auto repair shop in BK!! I’ll never go anywhere else, everyone is honest about pricing and are throughly explain the pricing and what repairs are necessary and unnecessary. The hood of my car wouldn’t open after a fender bender, and I took the issue to a different mechanic who told me I needed an entirely new hood. I waited and took my car here and they opened my hood and added some lubricant for free, which was all the car needed! They have super friendly and respectful staff and sweetest dog!
I had a noise in my front end, took my car to L & M, top class service was offered and delivered, very professional and they listened and gave me good advice about taking care of my car moving forward, I would recommend L & M to everyone, I guarantee you'll be satisfied.
I rarely review businesses. This shop deserves 5 star review and id recommend anyone looking for knowledgeable porsche mechanics. I’ve had two Porsche 911s that I brought in for inspections/tune ups/maintenence. Bill and Peter both had incredible attention to detail identifying preventative maintenence options - clearly did very thorough job inspecting the cars. I found the low pressure advice to be very helpful. They went out of their way to save me money and prioritize the modifications / upgrades worth making. incredible to work with these guys I’m going to bring all of my Porsches and BMWs here going forward (even though it’s 30 minutes out of my way)! They’re experts and they’re honest. Bill has been in business for this long time for a reason.

These guys are always straight forward about what is going on with my beloved Mini and the relative urgency of various repairs. As someone who knows little about cars and doesn’t always have a lot of cash to spend on maintenance, I have continued going to L & M even after moving away from the neighborhood because I know and trust them. They are not the cheapest, but every time I take my car to a cheaper shop they don’t know Mini’s and do a cheap job. L & M does quality work and tries to work within my budget as much as possible. I highly recommend them if you have a European car.

I have a rebuilt 1994 Land Rover Defender TDI that I've been trying to sort out an overheating problem with. I brought it to three different shops that were dead sure about replacing the thermostat and expansion tank/cap, running hydrocarbon/compression tests, etc. Each time, though, temps would spike past 100C, and it would start spitting coolant again. I took it to L & M, and they rechecked and reflushed the whole system, replaced some worn lines, and put in a new radiator cooling fan. It looked like the problem was finally solved. Beautiful, right? No. Temps spiked again a day later.
Here's what sets L & M apart: instead of making excuses or running up the tab, Bill tells me to bring it back in. It's a Friday afternoon. He goes over it again with the infrared thermometer and shakes his head. Temps were normal. "I'm going to figure this out," he says. He asks me if he can take it home with him and spends his weekend rechecking, reflushing, retesting, and replacing sensors. He calls me on Monday to come pick it up. "No charge," he says. "Drive it and tell me what you think." So, I take it on the Jackie Robinson. I take it over the Verrazzano. I take it through traffic in Brooklyn and Manhattan.
That was a couple of weeks ago, and the temperature gauge hasn't gone above normal since. Not a drop of coolant has leaked. My truck is running cooler and smoother than it ever has. When Bill says he'll fix something, he means it. He's a man of his word who won't quit until he's solved the problem and won't run up the costs to do it. These guys are hands down the best in the business. They take pride in their work, and they stand by it. Without hesitation, I highly recommend Bill, Mark, and the team over at L & M Foreign Cars.
Absolutely incredible service The EXPERTISE is phenomenal. If you have a foreign car, old or new, these are your guys. They have been doing this for 56 years and it shows — I brought in my Audi after having the Audi dealer basically tell me to scrap it — Then I brought it to L&M and they immediately saw that my car was not only salvageable but didn’t need very much work at all. They have such a knowledge of cars and a love of cars and they’re FAIR. Which is a remarkable trait in the industry of car repair. I cannot say enough good things. I’m blown away. Very glad to have found a trustworthy and thorough shop to work on my 2013 X5d. Mark and his team installed a new battery, air compressor, Liquimoly oil change and engine flush and got my beast ready for the emissions inspections. Mark’s dedication to solving the issue of the dreaded CEL and willingness to troubleshoot with me really instilled a level of confidence in them. He went the extra distance. They weren’t inexpensive, but they definitely saved me money and didn’t pad the charges or diagnosis.

These are the best mechanics I’ve ever been to. I drive a pretty old VW that I’ve taken to a lot of different shops, and they have all done a bare minimum of shoddy work, and then the check engine light comes back on during the drive home. At L&M, they seem to actually take pride in their work, and I felt like they cared about getting my car back in good working order. Mark was great to work with, and he walked me through everything that needed to be done. My car is now running better than it has in years, and I will definitely come back the next time I need work done.
Over the last few years, L&M has serviced my 2018 Q5 on everything from routine oil changes and brake pads to a water pump replacement and even a flooded electrical system panel. Billy and his team are extremely knowledgeable, have meticulous attention to detail, and are honest. These guys don't gloss over problems or look for a cheap temporary fix, and they won't try to up-charge you on unnecessary services.

L&M is a rare combination of honesty, integrity, and competence.
They earned my business when they answered my cold call after experiencing a brake failure on a drive to NYC from out-of-state. The founder, Bill, advised me on making sure my car was safe to operate, and had me bring it in for evaluation. They then spent nearly two weeks completely re-doing the brake system, sourcing hard-to-find parts, fabricating subcomponents where needed, and addressed other obvious non-brake problems, such as an exhaust leak and a relay meltdown. I was able to drive the car back home safely, and soundly.
I’ve returned three more times and they’ve fixed chronic problems that the home mechanic couldn’t, or wouldn’t, address: a cracked ABS sensor ring on the front axle, a frozen rear windshield wiper, a detached interior panel on a sliding door, a sagging headliner, a misbehaving sun visor. They put their knowledge to a series of engine codes that kept popping up. Oh, and they replaced the front struts.
The founder’s son, Mark, who effectively runs the operation and his chief mechanic, Peter, who has a restorer’s mentality and ability, are unique personalities and allies. Mark and his father kept me apprised of progress, sending pictures, and Peter explained in detail everything he was doing, or had done. It was a reassuring and rewarding interaction. I wish I had known about them sooner, and that they had been servicing my car since the beginning.
They could have turned me away for not having an appointment, or because my car was a 21 year old VW with hard-to-find parts and unique problems, but they didn’t — they tackled my problem head-on. Yes, bring your car to L&M and you will keep bringing it back. I know I will.

The work is always neat , clean and the prices are way less than taking your car to a dealership. I've been living in the community for 25 years and as long as I can remember they've been around. I have officially took my car to the dealership for the last time. A few weeks ago, I took my 2017 Audi with 78K mikes to the dealership because my car was suddenly shaking and not accelerating. The Dealership first diagnosed my car and said my piston rings were worn out and then quoted me an engine for more than 30k. Needless to say that was NOT going to happen. I looked up nearby Audi mechanics online and thankfully stumbled on L&M, read over the reviews and decided to give them a call. Explained my issue to both Mark and Billy and they both told me it doesn’t sound right what they are telling me, they gave me questions to ask the dealership about my car and once I called back Audi they could not give me an effective answer to the questions. After calling back L&M I was told to just change my spark plugs and bring it over. At that point, my car has been at the dealership for one week, I picked it up and once I took it to L&M , in less than an hour they were able to diagnose my car PROPERLY discovering my oil level was way over and spilled into my engine causing buildup. They were able to SAVE my engine, giving me an oil change, a new filter and added a dipstick, costing me substantially thousands less than what the dealership was trying to get out of me. When I came to pick up my car the same day, they said I’m the 3rd person for the day that the dealership quoted them an engine and that was not the solution. They took the time out to explain how to check my levels to make sure this didn’t happen again. They said all I need in about a month is a tune up. I left there with my car running great, I waited a few weeks to write this just to ensure it was still running smooth. I have officially found my mechanic, I greatly appreciated their honesty and the time they took out to help, I will definitely be taking my car there from now on. Highly recommend.
I've been taking my Audi A4 to Mark at L&M Foreign Cars for over a year now, and it's been a total relief to find a team of reliable and informative mechanics. For foreign car owners, I highly recommend this auto shop if you are looking for great mechanics that will give you honest diagnostic/repair recommendation, fair pricing (support local establishment vs. corporate giants), fast service and great results. I own a 2016 Mini Cooper S 2 door Coupe and I have been with L&M for the last 4 years. They have performed from oil change, to brake replacement, 30K Mile Service, etc. And never have I had any bad experience or have been charged with astronomically high bill. As for service/price comparison, they tend to be 50-55% lower than your local dealership. Let's meet the owners - Mr. Bill is an amazing person, who is courteous/kind, and very professional. And his son Mark is a straight shooter, pragmatic, no nonsense kind of guy that just want to get the best results for both the client and their business. Both Father and Son will never up-sell you. I’ve been going to L&M for 3 years and from my first BMW to my last this will be the only shop I visit. There hasn’t been an issue that they haven’t been able to fix. I’ve also never had to go back for a previous issue with any of my cars.

Where do I start? I wanted to buy a 2010 Audi A4 from a copart auction in NJ. The listing said it started with a jump and the exterior was great so I called and spoke to Bill and asked if I could have the car delivered to his shop. He then immediately told me NOT to buy the car. Said they usually give engine trouble after 100k miles. The car had 123k. So I went against his advice and purchased it anyway. Long story short the car needed a new engine! the pistons were all broken and the cylinders were cracked. Due to a chain tensioner timing jump. the repair bill was Quoted for about 7k but since I got it for a good price it wasn't all that bad. What I really appreciated was that I didn't have all the funds for the repair upfront but they worked with me. Sent me video updates on the repair progress. everything took about a month or so to complete. They basically rebuilt an engine from scratch. The car runs like new. These people are truly amazing and their work proceeds them.
I had several issues with my car after purchasing it (used Landrover) and L&M helped me to fix the issues one by one. - They seem very experienced with Land Rovers which has their own share of specific quirks.
L & M is family operated and they know what they are doing, give you honest opinions on the different options for your vehicle and work hard to fix it.
They are also nice people and work patiently with you to explain the issues and resolve them. The location is easy to find and you can pull up right on their parking lot.
