The staff and the mechanic are supper great and very understanding. They listen to what you describe as your issues and get to work immediately. The two ladies upfront in the office are very helpful and accommodate you for all your needs what you are looking to buy in the store. This shop keeps track of all your past issues and compares it to now.
The guys are super friendly and know what they’re doing, and the prices are great. The owner always voices his appreciation for his clientele, The car wash is also great and easy, and super convenient.
What started as a wheel bearing replacement, ended up costing me 2500 dollars and I then HAD TO JUNK MY CAR. Everything was fine, until I replaced my wheel bearings. Then, my car began having issues with starting (out of nowhere). They told me this was the o2 sensors, so I replaced those. Then, the check engine light kept coming on, so they told me it had electrical problems, and charged me for an electrical diagnostic. When that was done, out of nowhere, the car started making noise when I would go over 40 miles an hour, and the check engine light came on again. They told me I needed to bring it back but I was so scared to do so. Then the car stopped starting randomly and got stuck in a parking lot. I had it towed to another shop, and the mechanics told me that:
1) The O2 sensors were incorrect for my model
2) There was a hole in the escape next to the catalytic converter (very odd)
3) Drumroll, the starter that these guys had “changed” two years ago, was actually the original from manufacturer and they lied about replacing it and charged me.
I had to junk my car because the expenses had become too great. This car was working perfectly fine before the bearings were changed. There were no coincidences here, these people are ruining cars one step at a time to milk customers for all they’re worth.
If you care about your vehicle, then you definitely want to avoid this place before they lie to you and ruin it. It’s always a domino effect, one problem magically leads to another. They will charge you for a diagnostic but will not test drive your vehicle to get a feel of the problem you want to address. You bring your car in, they plug the odb in and tell you (in Spanish) “leave me the keys and I will call you when it’s ready” every time. Almost every time no call whatsoever so I’d have to call the receptionist myself to ask about the status of my vehicle only to find out that it’s been “ready and fixed” for hours or even days.
I loved my jeep and these people ruined it. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR CAR UNATTENDED with these guys. It will be an expensive lesson and possibly the death of your vehicle.
I trust them here! They always get the work done efficiently and price fairly. The workers are also all so kind and fun to chat with while you wait. Bonus if you see the kitty mechanic
We brought the car for evalution and left the car for two days. We picked up the car, noticed parts missing, screws unfastened or loose. These people do not deserve any business but to be shut down. They are too dishonest for their audacity. Do Not Recommend.
I dropped off my ZDX to get a wheel alignment after the dealership I got the car from couldn’t solve the issue. They took the car right in , test drove it , saw the issue and solved the problem. They were honest and straight forward and more importantly they did a great job.

I went for my yearly car inspection as always they are very efficient and always very nice. I go to them for all my car needs so does my daughter. I highly recommend this place they do a very good job on your car.
I'm from Florida and don't know there was so much to getting my car registered in nyc. With that being said this shop was super friendly nice even going out their way to make sure I got the help I needed. Yes I would tell anyone to stop in if needed.
Destroyed my BMW engine! They didn't do the job correctly and watsed my time and money. Had to get a brand new engine elsewhere! Never again, not even for the wack carwashes. Avoid this place by all means.
Came here becuase my spark plugs and one of coils were out and my car (Nissan Altima)was struggling to stay on so finally made it to this mechanic. Found out they are very pricey wouldn’t recommend this place. They charged me $462 including tax for 4 spark plugs and 1 ignition coil. I would have never did it here if it wasn’t emergency. So if you go here just know there prices are very high.
Always found them to be fast and reliable for my yearly vehicle inspection for the DMV and they transmit the findings electronically. Haven't had any major work done here so can't speak to that, staff is friendly but most of the mechanics seems to speak only spanish.
I went here to get my car fixed for a dent and two deep scratches on the passenger side door. I got quotes for almost $2k from other locations who were clearly taking advantage. I didn’t know this place also had a body shop. I was given a very fair price of $750. I dropped my car off on Sunday and had it back by Wednesday morning. The owner was very kind and treated me like family, and he was very accommodating. If needed in the future I will surely return.
I don’t know about car repair but Worst place for car wash I ever use. I had full service recently but they just washed the car. They didn’t vacuum which they supposed to do in full service that I paid for. I told them they forgot to do so. But no one wanted to do vaccum. Wow. What a pathetic. The owner should oversee these kind of behavior of their workers to maintain standards.
I stopped by for just inspection even I saw bad rating.I shouldn’t ignore the rating, right? of course, even an easy job, they make is worse !! I told the guy to pre check the engine before go straight to DMV because I had issues with my engine light pop up earlier.but they seem doesn’t understand or they don’t care. So yes I failed the inspection $37 which I very upset. Very bad service and careless. It also took me 30 mins for just doing that. Never go back again
They quoted me $500 in repairs after I failed a safety inspection. The repairs included servicing my brakes, which was done at a different place only a few months prior. I decided to get a second opinion elsewhere and it passed fine. G&E was likely lying. I wouldn't recommend this place.
The receptionist is SO NICE. She’s so professional and she answered all my questions and is just a really sweet, pleasant person. I came here for my annual inspection and my last oil change. They do services while you wait, and they’re quick. If you’re a woman and going to car repair places run by men usually makes you anxious, come here!!!
Had a good experience here cleaning my car for Passover. The vehicle hadn’t seen a car wash in over a year and it was as dirty as it gets. They charged me $150 but did a beautiful job inside out. They even kept the car on premises for a full day because I wasn’t able to pick it up mid-day.
I’ve been here a few times before for my inspection and they have always been great. So when my car started making noises while driving I decided I would try them out. When I arrived I met Benji (the owners son), he looked under my car and seem to know what he was talking about even though I told him it sound like the axle or wheel joints but he proceeded to say something was broken and was causing the noise. I believed him since he is a mechanic. When I left my car was making a banging noise at every dip or uneven pavement, so I brought it back and he then said it was the shocks. I’ve had my car for over 10 years driving in NY so I agreed to replace them. Benji quoted me at $530, but when I dropped it off the next week they told me it would be $650, huge difference. After the back and forth they honored the original quote. When I came by to drop off a part, I witnessed a mechanic (not Benji) looking confused and it looked as though he was using a long piece of metal to adjust my wheel and/or axle. I immediately went to the receptionist to tell her he looked like he didn’t know what he was doing and might damage my car. The owner was there and reassured me everything would be fine. I received my car the same day and it drove good, no noise. But the next day I heard the same original noise with the axle and joints that wasn’t fixed, and a few days later I heard the shocks. Apparently, they replaced the shocks but no the mounts so the banging noise is still there. I decided not to return after paying $700 not including the other repairs which would total to almost $1000. Now I will need to find another place to correct all these new and old noises.
Within a month's time, I took my vehicle for service at G&E 3 times, as its a local car repair shop & I was born & raised in this area. After paying over $1000 on repairs, my transmission began leaking fluid. Keep in mind, that my vehicle was never there for transmission work. The mechanic worked hard at trying to convince me that I brought it in leaking fluid. After a battle of words, they attempted to repair it but I ended up having to take it to a transmission specialist. While there, we witnessed many customers coming in with complaints but still considered them isolated events. After my issue, I can wholeheartedly say that they are scammers. They are the kind of shop that fixes one thing & works to damage another to ensure your return. Unfortunately, they took it too far & their scam came out in the open. Will not be taking my vehicle anywhere near their shop again. If you are looking for loyal service, keep driving past G&E.
By far the best auto shop I've been in the past 10 years of living in NY. It's full service, very fast, all the stuff is very professional and courteous. The owner of the shop, Gus, goes above and beyond to make their customers happy. It's the place I trust 100% and know that my car will be fixed and my bill won't be blown up. It's conveniently located, with a car wash next to it, and a gas station right in front, so it makes the place one-stop-fix-it-all. Can't recommend this place more.
I feel that some form of prejudice showed. I was there first for an inspection, then another person came Male Hispanic for the same thing. They took his car first, so I felt some kind of way. But its all good. I leave tips when I feel services are good..
Tried to come here for the insurance photos required by NY state since I recently registered my vehicle in NY. The woman on the phone was not helpful at all. I was told to come in at 9am on a Wednesday, after being told Tuesday that they were unable to do the photos. I showed up at 9am and was told that the person who does photos won't be in for another hour. I waited over an hour and called to see if the person showed up, and was told that the guy would not be there for another 2 hours later. The service here was not good. I would recommend going somewhere else.
I paid for an oil change when they said it was ready and I left the light came up again when I returned and asked the manager how come, his response was 'relax man'... now they might be doing a good job fixing your car however.. there's no communication, the manager has a shocking attitude takes no responsibility for screwing his customers and has an ego till the sky. It's a shame that a good place like this should suffer because of one person.
Had to check a sound my car was making and hardly ever have time during the day, most places telling me it would be a week or more before they could even look at it to diagnose the issue. But here they just took a look right away, found the problem immediately, quoted me the price for repair and had me out of there in an hour with a welded fix instead of upselling a whole new part. I've been looking for a good mechanic and I think this is the place.
Great service all the way around. I've been going to G & E Auto Repair for about the last 18 months or so... primarily for oil changes with my SAAB. Recently though, I needed to take the car in since my front bumper was partially ripped off after sinking into the grass at Crissy Field, then backing up with the bottom of the bumper getting hung up in the ground. I was dreading the bill. I was certain it would be $1000. In the end, they made it look almost like new, and the cost... $50.
There prices are insane ! Definitely do not recommend they take for ever to do the work and when they say by Tuesday it will be done. Expect it done by A few days later like on Friday. & like i said the prices they charge are like no other mechanic shop in the hole area. Super expensive even for an oil change they want to charger 130+

In just a matter of days the price changed 3 times without a reasonable explanation. Also, when I dropped off my car, another guy was complaining about the final price not matching what he was quoted.
They caused further damage to my car and refused to take responsibility for it.
When I dropped off my car, the tires and wheels were completely fine; no problem whatsoever. Then when I picked it up, one of the hubcaps was busted and falling off, and they refused to take responsibility for it even though the car was in their care for close to a week. They also broke something in the trunk in an effort to fix it. When I pointed it out to Richard, the manager, he told me that that had happened in the accident, which was a BLATANT LIE!
They overcharged me for parts.
Charged $225 for parts that cost $111 at Danken Auto Part on Morgan Ave.
They overcharge in general.
Asked about replacing a vent window and was quoted $160. Ended up fixing the vent window for $50 at Glass Depot Inc on Flushing Ave.

Honesty, it's the first reason I'll be a repeat customer. Great pricing, what I got when I found out I needed breaks and rotors. Friendliness, another great quality of this place. The owner Gus, has my vote all day when it come to car maintenance. There car wash is next on my list!
