I have been going to Monroe in Johnstown for many years and have gotten good service there. Personnel is friendly.

On January 2, 2026 while driving Thruway East, my car started making scraping, rattling noises, which sounded like a muffler issue, so I got off at Johnstown exit as I remembered there was a Monro Muffler on the main drag Comrie Rd. It was apparent the pipe was disconnected once I arrived and looked under the car. I wasn’t precisely told the exact issue, but they said the parts would arrive tomorrow (Saturday Jan 3rd) and would be done Saturday OR Sunday. Did not receive a call either day, so I called Sunday and was told 2 parts arrived but “they” (themselves or the parts store?) forgot to ship or order a 3rd part needed. That part would not arrive until Tuesday, January 6th. Luckily for me, my original destination was Saratoga Springs to my daughters, 50 minutes away, so I had a place to stay until Tuesday as I live in Camden, NY over 2 hours away. Tuesday I had to call them at 11:30 am, told it was due to arrive in one hour, so I could head out shortly. It was still on the lift when I got there, they brought it to the front door and I paid for the muffler. I did receive a 10% discount for my inconvenience. I started the car, was still rather noisy, but thought maybe as I drive along it will get quiet. Just wanted to get home. The sound got worse. Drove directly to the Monro in Rome, NY, they immediately looked at it, said there was a leak in the seam of the muffler. They had a new one in less than half an hour and quickly on my way to shop. Sort of quiet but not quite. Drove back to Monro and finally they test drove it and confirmed the exhaust pipe was hitting the heat shield. They fixed it. No charge for this service. It appears to be fixed. I do appreciate Romes immediate service and no charge, which seems appropriate.

Do not call call center for appointment they will not set it up right the don't do NY State inspections on wensdays or Saturdays and the call center will still set the appointments for those days. Guys at the shop super helpful and will get you squared away. Will be going back for future services. Side not if you need to set up service go in and talk to them and do so.

Needed brakes was in and out within an Hour every time I go there I’m in and out quickly and reasonably priced

My appointment was at 10, I was taken care of upon arrival, the service was friendly and my car was done in a timely fashion.

Went to my appointment Tuesday 12/30 around 3pm. They took me in immediately and it took them only 13 minutes to get me loaded in, up on the wrack and donut tire changed. Bought an existing junkyard tire w. rim to bolt on myself however unfortunately the lug pattern was off so I needed Monro's help. We dismounted off the bad rim and remounted on my good one. I was literally back in the car driving home in only 13 minutes. I was blown away. That was A+++++ service, seriously. This service was also only about $35. Thank you gentlemen!

Brought my jeep to Sean, was very respectful, and communicated with me the while entire time throughout the process. Gave me and my husband that at home family experience. Thank you Sean the jeep is quiet as new again . 5 stars and highly recommend.

Ordered 4 nokian tyres for my car. Came in next day. I was in and out in an hour. Shaun and his staff are great people. Would definitely recommend.

I had the headlight bulbs replaced. First issue, ordered the bulbs and then disclosed the price. Didn’t offer standard bulbs, which were what was in it. Second, when finished, one light was still out. We opened the hood and the mechanic who did the job said, “here, these wires are bare, must have shorted, you need to get a new headlight.” So somebody changed to high end lights and didnt check out the wires? Or, use a piece of tape and ruined a new bulb. For which I paid $277. Unacceptable.

I was out and about when I got something in my tire. Not knowing a lot of places around Johnstown, I went to Monro to see what i could do. Thankfully Clayton was able to squeeze me in their busy schedule. I’m so grateful he helped me out and I will definitely be returning for future work on my car. If anyone needs any services done I really recommend going here!

I have brought 2 vehicles here, and am thrilled with the customer service and the quality of the work done! The entire staff have treated me with courtesy and respect. I used to have vehicles serviced through a company that has now been bought out by Monro, and this center treats me as if I am a loyal, long-standing customer. As a senior, I appreciate being able to rely on the integrity and reliability of this Monro Service Center! And soon they will offer alignment checks, so another good reason to use them!!

All the guys are super friendly and helpful. Ive never been treated like a dumb female or feel like Im getting ripped off!! The work is always on point, never have issues after leaving shop.

We had a screw in the tire and they were very fast and nice to do business with. Thank you Ethan for the fast and good job done.

Went in on Sunday October 19 and had Clayton as a specialist for my tire and he gave fast and efficient service would definitely go in again

Amazing service as always. I was told it would be about hour to an hour and a half, depending my on how easy parts came off for them. I was literally out the door in less than an hour.

We were in to get a tire repaired Fortunately it was a simple fix. The manager didn’t even charge for the service. Such a wonderful place. I’ll be sure to go back for other services.

I walked in at 510pm asking for an oil change. Gentlemen behind the counter was extremely friendly and said let's do it. I was so thankful as I was over due.

My vehicle needed brake lines and a few other parts i had purchased and I dropped my vehicle off with the estimated time of service being one full business day. My vehicle then sat on the outside of the shop for 3 whole days because nobody had communicated with each other that there was no single person with experience to do my brake lines. The manager of the facility not only falsely quoted me for time but for a price as well. He assured us that he would do the work personally and he "promised" on the third day we were being pulled in the shop next. He left early everyday since we had dropped the vehicle off and wasn't able to be reached leaving his employees to scramble with a vehicle they had no information on. Meanwhile my car was sitting untouched while they worked on someone's personal prostock dirt track car in the shop day after day. Overall not a great look for business.

Friday night at 6:00 and I have air hissing out of one of my tires. I was in a panic! I went to Monroe tire and the man was very very pleasant. He plugged my tire and I was out of there in minutes!!! Thank you!!!

Just like another reviwer stated they are scam artists. I took my vehicle in for a vibration with the breaks. They said they just needed to be cleaned and that was it. As I am not a mechanic my self I would not know for sure. I told them to take care of it. Charged me $200.00 for it. Right after there was no improvement. I then took it to Mavis and told me I needed breaks and Rotors and they fixed it for me. Then I filed a complaint with the BBB and somebody by the name of Theresa responded and made things even worse for them and lied to the BBB. She said I that I was the one who asked them to clean my breaks. She must not have known that I was actually with somebody and on the phone with somebody else at the time after they were the ones who told me it needed to be cleaned, So I have 2 witnesses that heard that as well and falsifying documentation is against the law. Just because they work with cars doesn't mean they excel in other areas in life. They are Very dishonest people and now will be filing papers against them in small claims court for their misconduct, dishonesty and being uncooperative to resolve this matter. ***Update to below***** No. I will be making sure to have this issue addressed now. You had your chance and I filed the papers yesterday, we will see each other in court at this point now. Thank you for your time as well that got you no where but a court date now. Looking forward to discussing this even further with you now and hearing your crazy responses. You should be getting a letter shortly in the mail. Thanks again. I don't know how this Theresa still has this job with Monro.. scarry!!!!

USED TO come here for tires and inspections. I recently stopped by and Mike was extremely rude and disrespectful when trying to set up an appointment. Guy acted like I was inconveniencing him because I wanted to buy 4 new tires from them and have them installed. That's fine there are tons of other shops. Not sure how this guy still has a job looking at all the recent reviews.

Brandon the manager was so calling and straightforward and explanatory it had a flat tire today's before and the service that came out and change my tire put my spare on but apparently they didn't tighten it this is what it look like which is under 50 miles on that rim I am so fortunate that I made it to the shop needless to say I was reimbursed eventually from AAA and they also handled themselves very well and worked with the manager Brandon for my reimbursement for the over $200 repair Brendan had me back on the road within 2 hours and even gave me a chocolate bar to enjoy while I was waiting
