What clients say about Joes One Stop LLC in Pawling Township (NY)

Worst customer service I have ever had at any auto body/mechanical shop. Left my vehicle on March 2025 for a complete new paint job. Had to literally force him to release the vehicle back to me on March 3,2026 after multiple deadlines placed by him which were never met. Joe the owner would ghost me when I would show up to see the car or make an excuse the car was covered in plastic. Very disrespectful, dishonest and not great work to say the least. I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves. According to Joe this car would have been done by the end of the day.

?‼️WARNING WARNING ‼️? I want to express my outrage regarding the service provided by Joe's One Stop. The customer service, work quality, and the condition in which my car was returned were appalling, rendering it unfit for driving. My car had sustained damage to the undercarriage after a road incident, but the bodywork was intact, and the issues were primarily mechanical, particularly in the area of the front left wheel. I specifically pointed out that this wheel was unusable and emphasized that my request focused on fixing it, based on my experience as a driver. Additionally, I asked Joe, the mechanic, to inspect the undercarriage for any other damage. After the wheel repair, I discovered that the steering was dreadful. It turned out that the main issue was related to a broken steering rack, which I only found out after getting behind the wheel. The repair shop then demanded an additional $2000 for the steering rack repair, even though I was not informed about this requirement during the initial work. I only learned about it when I arrived to pick up my car, putting me in a difficult position. Moreover, I was charged an additional $200 for repairing the rear wheels, despite not consenting to this work. The damage to my car was to the front, and the rear wheels had nothing to do with the problem. In the end, I paid $1000 in cash and requested a receipt, but I was only given a handwritten note for the services, without a breakdown of the parts costs or the total for the work performed, which violates my consumer rights. Additionally, Joe displayed rude behavior, dishonesty, and irresponsibility by returning the car in a technically unsafe condition for driving, putting the driver at risk. After receiving the money, the repair shop washed its hands of any responsibility, and now I cannot drive the car. The wheels were not even aligned, and the car shook on the road. Turning the steering wheel was extremely dangerous. I couldn’t drive even 5 miles before I had to return to demand proper work or a refund, but the response I received was, "I did my job, goodbye." This was horrible work, which the mechanic considered complete. For the $2000 they asked for the steering rack repair and the $1000 I had already spent, I could have bought a new car. But I was deceived. In the end, I had to take the car to another repair shop, where they were willing to fix the steering rack, balance the wheels, and perform a full inspection for $900. Joe's One Stop demonstrated extremely negative customer service and a lack of professionalism. The situation was further aggravated by Downey Towing, the towing company that recommended this repair shop to me when I asked them to take my car to a different shop. It later turned out that the owner of the towing company and Joe, the owner of the repair shop, were acquaintances, which creates the impression that I was deliberately misled for additional profit. However, that is a separate issue.

Joe did a great job with a minor repair to my vehicle (replacing a left side mirror that was badly damaged) and was helpful and accommodating, even getting the repair done faster so that I could get to work on time when I was later to the shop than expected due to being unfamiliar with the location and being guided to the shop’s old address in error by Google Maps. The repair itself looks very sturdy and he was able to order and paint the necessary parts within just a few days’ time.

Great place to bring vehicle. TRUST is a huge factor for me when someone works on my vehicles. I trust Joe. That is main factor. The shop sticks to their word and does it for a fair price for all parties.
