He gave me 1 star in Doordash, because 1 item was missing from his order and asked me to bring him full order-I told him, its not my job to collect the order at the store. When I got in the store they said they did everything right. This man try to scam even a little guy!

I recently purchased a subaru forester from Scott and I am very pleased with my purchase and with doing business with Scott. He is very transparent about his vehicles and I think he is also very thoroug and will not sell you a car that is not safe. I had a minor problem with my car after I took it home and he was very responsive and took care of it right away. If I need another car in the future he will be my first choice to go to. Oh, and the price was very reasonable. Overall I had a positive experience with this seller and 100% would recomend.

I am very pleased with my Subaru CROSSTREK. The car performs beautifully, and the repairs you made work perfectly. Everyone who rides in it says I made a very good choice, and wants to know where I purchased it. Again, thank you for making your promises a reality with limited budget being able to find a reasonably priced car. I enjoy it every day!

I bought my first car from Scott at GDT in 2000. He took the time not only to answer all my questions, but to help me learn about the car I was buying. I was fully satisfied by both the car I bought, the price I paid, and by how he dealt with me. Over the years I've purchased three more cars from him always with the same very satisfying experience. I would urge anyone looking for a used car to give Scott and GDT a good look.

I would give no stars if I could. This man totally scammed us out of $100. He sat us down acted like he was going to call us as soon as the car that we were interested in was out of the shop and had all the proper paperwork. He required a down payment as a good faith and then he never called or reaponded to any messages. This man is not reliable. Do not do business here.

I appreciated working with Scott while searching for a used car. I had a limited budget and wanted a low-mileage, reliable vehicle, and he specializes in just that. He was straightforward, helpful and honest. He has a great inventory of affordable cars, and I could tell he genuinely wants to find the right car for each of his customers.

If I could give this a -5 stars, I definitely would. Don’t walk, run away from this place! We went here to buy a car for our daughter. We saw a bait Subaru Forester he had listed under another name on Facebook Marketplace for $5400. When we got there, he told us that he couldn’t sell it to us for that price, he needed closer to $7000. My daughter and I sat and talked with Scott for over an hour and a half. We explained that we had $6000 to spend to buy a car and for taxes and tags etc. He told us that he had several other cars that were within our price range and that he had a Subaru Legacy that would be there within a few minutes. We agreed on a price, $6000 out the door, left a $1000 deposit and got a receipt showing the deposit and the purchase price of $6000 …. I get a phone call the day before we’re gonna go pick up the car saying that he cannot sell it to us for $6000. He forgot how much he payed for the car, because he buys “so many cars at the auction“, and isn’t going to make any money on it. He needs more money. When we got to the dealership, we told Scott that we had agreed to the $6k total price. Our contract stated that the deal was $6k, he said he never writes the price but it was there. This made my wife, kinda angry. He stated that he has to make money on the sale. I said that he needs to have pricing set before showing a car and an agreement is made. My wife felt that he was being deceptive and trying to pull a fast one. She made a statement about contacting the regulatory authorities that oversee car dealerships. Scott got very nasty to the two of us, basically calling my wife a Karen, and told us to leave. Then wanted to make a deal again. Again my wife said that he should honor the agreement, he started talking over her. He would not let her finish a sentence without talking over, finally she asked if it was because she is a woman. He got pissed again and asked us to leave. We were able to get a check for the $1000 deposit, he got mad when my wife asked if the check was good. He lost two sales that day because, my wife let the people in the parking lot know that he has deceptive business practices and switches prices after the deal is made. Seems after some digging on this guy, his 30 years in business is just changing the name of the dealership when he screws the wrong person. He’s obviously not an honest guy. His office person is maybe his wife or she’s part of the scam? IDK, STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS GUY. Thank god I wasn’t financing and didn’t give this guy my ss# or personal information. We have contacted the Attorney General‘s office, the FTC, and New York State DMV. He has been in business for 30+ years preying on people, that is 30 years too long.

After months of searching for a good safe reliable car for my daughter, I am thankful I found Scott and Zia at GDT Automotive. We bought a 2013 Subaru Outback with 126k miles in great condition that runs perfectly for a very reasonable price. We are very happy with our car! Thank you Scott!!

Scott and his wife are great. He managed a busy day to meet with my daughter and I. He is a great guy and clearly wanted to do right by us. The car is exactly what we were looking for.

Shady person, doesn’t communicate often. If you don’t notice something’s up with the vehicle he will try to sell it to you as is without telling you there’s problem or where the problem lies. Wants to do extra procedures for finance. All round shady experience recommend an actual car dealership. All the years down the road and this man “Scott” who goes by many different throw away aliases on Facebook is still receiving bad reviews should tell you guys what you need to know.

Great, Friendly, reliable and reasonable. I appreciated both Scott and his wife’s kindness. So good to know they’re still good and trustworthy people in the car selling industry. I would recommend them to anyone. So grateful.

I bought 2 Subarus from Scott recently - one in January for my wife and another in March for my daughter. Scott and his wife are a pleasure to deal with...a little quirky, a little different from the usual car dealer, but he operates with integrity. I got really good deals on the cars I bought...1000's below other dealer prices. Stay cool ...don't expect perfection or everything to happen immediately...and it will all work out.

Scott was very attentive and he listened to what you wanted and made sure that it is what you got in return with your car and made sure it was in its best condition for you! He was also very helpful after the purchase of the car I case I ever needed anything else!

Excellent experience excellent deal Scott was very thorough. He’s a man of his word. He gave me an excellent Price. He Made sure the car was up to par and double checked everything. The original battery in the car was not strong so he put in a brand new battery without increasing the original price that he gave me. The car drives great. If you are looking for a good deal, he’s the man to see. I appreciate the deal Scott. Thank you.

Traveled from out of state for a great experience buying a Honda hybrid hatchback and received a dependable vehicle with a new state inspection, battery, and tires. The car had zero mechanical issues and was priced well below market value. The owner Scott and his wife are a wonderful team. Scott prices his cars below what you'd expect to pay elsewhere and he has quick and easy buying opportunities on a variety of vehicles. His fees are reasonable as well. He has 30 years experience in the car industry and is highly mechanical. Trade ins and financing available. He gets very busy on Saturdays and please call or text him for an appointment. Highly recommended. If you arrive on a busy day, try out the pizza from Mike and Joe's across the street as well. Excellent wood fired pizza. Thank you Scott.

Every business has their flaws especially dealing with car dealers. At first, I had a bad experience with the first car I got from them. Took us a while to solve everything but Scott and his wife got it done and helped us find the right car. It definitely took some time but Scott make sure everything is well taken care of before we get the care. So for me, patience is the right word then you will get rewarded.

I don't even want to leave one star! Don't purchase a car here! I went 09/15 after locating a Subaru online and contacting the owner on Friday 09/13. The owner asked if I could come in Saturday or Sunday. I stated Sunday would be great and he offered 2pm. I agreed to 2 and was asked to confirm Sunday 09/15 between 11-12. I call Sunday and keep getting voicemail. Finally, when I reached the owner he seemed short and I stated my name and two vehicles I was interested in. The owner confirmed my 2pm arrival. My sister was driving me and my father and fiance came to view the vehicle. We arrived at 1:45pm and no one is around. I run to the car I was most interested in and show my father. My father walks around and on the back passenger side he points out that the back end and side were replaced. The paint was a lighter white and you can see it was not original. My father stated it was in a accident. Then I go to look at my second choice a black Subaru and same thing, body damage on passengers side and front end. Was obvious. Looked through all cars and same... all were involved in a accident. I'm discouraged at this point and start to head back to the car. My father spotted a car closer to the office and stated in his opinion it had the lowest miles and was in best shape. Then a woman pulls in and goes to office to knock on door. The owner is not there. She asks if I have been helped and I state not yet i have a 2pm appointment to view a car. She tells me she also was scheduled for 2pm. She attempts to call the owner and I do as well no answer. At 2:13 the woman reached the owner of the shop who stated he would be there in 10 minutes. A little after 2:30 the owner pulls in stops and says you can't park there. He says to follow him to where you should park. Then he asks who I am and he acted.like he did not speak with me. He seemed off, high on coke. My sister gets innher car to move it. She follows him and he goes to her windows. He was talking to her while buttoning his beer belly in his Hawaiian shirt. My father, fiance and I had a bad feeling. My sister came back and said he insisted he never spoke to me and asked who everyone with me were. She said he was high and could not make eye contact. When he walked over to the rest of us waiting by office he said we would have to wait because he needed to collect money from the woman who was there. Then a man pulls in and walks up to us. He tells us he wouldn't suggest buying a car there because they are all salvaged titles. After that we left. Unprofessional and not worth the time. Do not waste your money on a salvaged car! He buys them at auctions when they are totaled for pennies and has someone do a quick fix (will say they did a decent job) and sells them for much more money. Whole experience was shiesty!

I was planning on doing business with Scott in the beginning of July. I did end up putting a deposit down for a 2013 Impreza. However, I ended up finding a vehicle locally that was more in my price range (albeit it is higher mileage). I did inquire about getting my deposit back even though I did sign a contract that stated otherwise. Scott was more than willing to do so without very much hesitation (from what I could tell.) He gets his vehicles from auctions and the research that I've done and they look to be from insurance companies. So some of the vehicles are salvage title (Scott made me aware of that from the get-go. So there's nothing to worry about there.) He does have some clean title vehicles, you just have to make him aware that, that is what you're looking for. Just be prepared to have to wait a bit and don't get impatient. Realistically, I think I could have handled it a bit differently and shopped around a bit more before I came to Scott's dealership. That probably would have been the better way to handle it. Even though Scott and I weren't able to seal a deal, it didn't end on a sour note as far as I'm concerned. Scott's doing what everyone of us is doing, and that's trying to make a living and doing what he knows best. All and all, I think it was a pretty decent experience.

We were looking for a Subaru in good conditions with a reasonable price, we found it at GDT automotive. Scoot gave us a complete explanation about the car history we were interested in, and he was open to negotiating the price of the car with us. No doubt, it was a great experience.

One of my worst experiences ever! I don’t even know how he is still in business . Let alone be able to sleep at night knowing he scams people out of their hard earned money. I regret not to check the reviews, before I even stepped foot into his lot. By writing this review, I hope to save the next person of disappointment. Selling salvage cars barely repaired. He will only allow you to test drive the car ONLY if you consider purchasing the vehicle. Rude will not speak to me because I was a women. Asked where is my husband or if I came with a mechanic. In other words, come with someone that’s a male. If you are a female don’t even bother. Selling cars that are not even ready to drive. Put a down payment and wait two to three weeks. No title and there may be a possibility the price will increase after you purchase. Due to the fact, the car may need work. No worries, car is listed for $5900 BUT price may change if extra work is needed. He states the car may be an additional $750. We Ended up losing 50% of the down payment to walk away from this nightmare.

I recently had the misfortune of dealing with GDT Automotive, and let me tell you, it was an absolute nightmare. Scott, the owner, is nothing but a scam artist who peddles salvaged cars that are practically ticking time bombs waiting to break down. I made the mistake of purchasing a vehicle from GDT Automotive, thinking I was getting a good deal. Little did I know, I was walking straight into a trap set by Scott and his team of con artists. Not only did the car break down within a week of purchase, but when I tried to contact Scott for assistance, he was nowhere to be found. It's like he vanished into thin air, probably off to scam more unsuspecting victims. The level of incompetence and deceit at GDT Automotive is unparalleled. It's as if they take pride in selling junk to innocent people who are just trying to find reliable transportation. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this establishment unless you enjoy being swindled by a bunch of crooks. In conclusion, GDT Automotive is a disgrace to the automotive industry, and Scott should be ashamed of himself for running such a dishonest operation. Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere for your car-buying needs. You'll thank me later.

If you're reading this, then you likely already had some sort of interaction with Scott (or Mike if you go off of his craigslist ads). BUYERS BEWARE!! This guy makes buying a vehicle an absolute nightmare. He had me go pick up a road kill deer on the test drive. Bloated and foggy eyed, Scott had no issue taking it home for himself. He doesn't submit all of the paperwork to the bank, instead he makes them ask you for it. That took 3 weeks. Then he gave the paperwork to the wrong person at mhvfcu. Another weeks delay. Then he got the the loan office manager involved, I'm assuming to cover his own back, which took another weeks time. It should have been a more serious red flag when he kept reiterating how much he loves when people gives him money. It seems he's more interested in a down-payment and selling you a warranty as opposed to actually dealing in the cars and the people who are looking to buy them. There's thousands of dealerships out there, do yourself a favor and go to one that can actually get the job done without all of the strings attached....or road kill in the trunk.

The car we picked out for our son was clean and drives very well ( so far) only had it 3 days. This is a private family owned car dealer and it’s not always opened and sometimes it’s hard to get someone on the phone or a responses. It would be easier on customers if there was another employee to help out all the customers, but the owner seems to like doing almost everything himself with his wife’s help. You need patience when you buy a car, but the wife is very pleasant and the owner a little germaphobic. I would buy another car from here if my car turns out to be good.

We bought a 2015 Subaru Forrester from Scott. The first thing Scott said to us was very accurate: “Buying a car from me (Scott) is not for everyone.” However, you can definitely get a good deal and good value car buying from Scott. But you need to be patient and not be in a rush. Scott buys his cars at a very low price and then fixes them up, so you can get a very good deal. Some are ready to sell as is, but many need some repairs that he will do. In our case we bought a 2015 Subaru Forester. Only 92,000 miles, but had some front end damage when it was first posted and we first saw it. Scott and his mechanic fixed it up well - not perfect, but very good - but it took a long time. Mechanically it is very sound. The bodywork is good but not perfect, a few minor things. But, it took MUCH longer than we expected for the car to be repaired and cleared to pass through New York state DMV. Scott did keep in touch during that time and process (although we did miss several deadlines that were promised). But, after a long process, at the end of the day, we did get a really nice car at a really good value. I would recommend buying a car from Scott for anyone who is looking for a good value car but is not in a hurry or rush to get it - you have to be patient. Also, I will say that Scott’s wife Zia is great, she does the office/paperwork side of things, and she is very helpful, patient and organized. She keeps Scott on track, and is very easy to deal with.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME !!! Made an appointment with Scott. He told me the car has a salvage title. I said I understand. Then insulted myself and my wife that we were'nt good enough to buy the car. After some time to cool off we talked about the deal. The price was 5900. He said the price was 6500. I would have to pay all the money upfront and wait 4 to 6 weeks to get the car. We drove an hour and a half to get there only to be insulted by this germaphobe. I had to give 1 star just to give a review. Calling BBB next.

Ok so this is probably the most honest review you’ll find here. I can’t speak for everyone or for the negative reviews that are a few years old. I got this car on April 15th 2023 from Mr Scott. He promised he’ll sell a car that runs great and that is cheap. He even allows you to bring your mechanic to check the car. Scott asked me for a deposit to secure the car and told me he’ll keep me updated. I’ll be honest sometimes you feel he’s not updating you or that he just took your money but he’s just busy all the time. If you’re gonna buy a cheap car from him that’s not ready yet, you’ll have to be patient. I waited for the car since February 20th. All I would suggest is for Scott to be a bit more polite and patient with clients because sometimes he can come out as rude. However, he followed through with his word, he sold me a cheap forester, that hasn’t given me any issues with a solid engine and interior. The car was only missing vanity items like fog light covers and a mud flap but again the car runs and it was in excellent condition. I would recommend him because car prices are crazy right now. Just have patience with the process if you’re buying a rebuilt. His wife also works with him and she’s way nicer as well. If your son/daughter needs a cheap car , I would go to GDT. There’s no way I would’ve found a forester for the price I got it. Loving the Forester!

After searching a while for a vehicle on many different platforms, I came across GDT Automotive. The owner, Scott, was prompt, responsive and friendly during our phone conversations. After making an appointment, Scott was able to match me to the car that I have been looking for. Thanks to Scott I now own a Subaru Forester with no complaints!

Looking to get a second car for yourself or first car for your son, daughter or grandkid(s) GDT Auto/Reliable Honda is the perfect place to go. I have purchased three automobiles from them thus far they've all lasted close to 10yrs. The owner Scott & his wife are good honest people and pleasant to deal with. They will also work with you on your budget & if he doesn't have what your looking for they will find it. I recommend this establishment for your car shopping needs.

I’ve know Scott Gellar for 35 years and I’ve purchased several cars from him before, for my two children. He knows how particular I am and how I put the safety of my kids above everything else. He always makes sure that the cars we buy are safe and reasonably priced. He has always stood behind his cars and if anything needed attention, he took care of it. I know that I’m in good hands, and so are my kids, with GDT and Scott.

I just bought a car from Scott (owner) November 2020 and I couldn't be more pleased. I found myself in a tricky situation needing a new car quickly in the middle of an auto shortage. A local search wasn't turning up anything and then my mom sent me the listing for this perfect little 2005 Scion stick shift with low mileage, I ended up driving 5 hours out of state just to come pick up the car and it was fully worth it. Scott was flexible in communicating with both my mother and I, and let my grandfather who lived locally test drive the car before I came out to pick it up. Doing an out of state purchase is confusing but Scott was patient and understanding, he helped walk me through my options and made sure I knew when their local DMV would be open and everything. My family always buys used cars and generally after you buy the car you are on your own. Scott has stayed remarkably easy to get in contact with after the purchase and is even helping me communicate with a mechanic in my area with some small work I knew needed to be done at the time of purchase. As a young woman in a new area I appreciate Scott helping make sure I don't get ripped off by a mechanic after getting such a great deal on the car. In the long run I am lucky to have found a mechanic I trust with Scott's help! I would recommend GDT automotive to anyone hoping to get a good deal from a reliable dealership!
