Every time I’ve come here the service has been excellent. On my last visit they took the time to go through my scrap with me and explain the weights clearly. The process was smooth and straightforward, and the staff was polite and respectful throughout. Joe and Nick were amazing to work with, super friendly, and made the whole experience even better. Would 100% recommend!
I’ve never had an issue here before but my last visit left me very unsatisfied. I got hustled for sure, came and already had separated my brass from my copper. The copper got tossed in a separate bin and was never weighed. The brass went on the scale and when I asked what happened he said it was all brass & that it was at the bottoms of the bucket. I felt like that was a lie because for the amount of scrap I brought I walked away with a very low amount and I don’t feel I was treated properly. I will say there was a person handling the money that I did not recognize from previous visits but I would just make sure you separate it and reassure them of what you have brought if you decide to come here.
I've never had a bad experience with this scrap metal spot. If anything I always recommend everyone to my guys here. I would go to any other scrap metal spot cause this guy's pay the most in my opinion. The son and pops who always take care of me are cool. Son may look a bit intimidating to some cause he built like a bull but those muscles should scare anyone. They super chill dudes. Pops with glasses is just pops. He just does his thing. The people who work there I've had one where he tried to mix my high grade into the low grade pile and the pops actually put a stop to that. He told him don't do that to me cause its higher grade and it pays more. I appreciated that. This was a while ago. I actually got a couple of computer apple monitors that I gotta see if they'll take. Idk if they'll take em. I was gonna call em as I was writing this review but its closed. Then I stumbled on the reviews and seen all the bad ones. Honestly I don't think the guys are bad here. Ill see you guys on Saturday morning hopefully they'll notice who wrote this grate review lol. Maybe give me an extra cash for being real. Anyway I talk to much but that's my opinion on American Scarp Metal.
Horrible straight up. No customer service. Treat you as if your a junkie. I had just finished working on my car and I had a few scraps parts that I didn't need. Of course after working on your car, appearance won't be the greatest but Damm I'm still human. If that's how hard working people get treated then no one should go there unless your in cahoots with the workers.
Extremely unprofessional very rude this is a rip-off company... This scale is definitely not collaborated. They talk down to you there as if you were beneath them.
Very good service. I come here all of the time with my scrap. They have good prices and work quickly. As soon as you pull up in front of the store, you are greeted by fast workers. They help to load and unload your metal so that the process is much easier. The owner is very friendly and they pay very well compared to other locations.
big scam going on insta this company might know or don't know this company Instagram page which has 4k+ followers is using company name as exporters of scrap and when i got company documents it is fake i tried to call but no one answers my phone
They try to mix your copper when you have a lot there's a reason why u work hard to seperate your metals and they try to charge the cheapest for it all not fair to the people who work there butt off to make everything clean and bare bright
I was here on Monday I brought a bunch of aluminum. I called a bunch of different scrap metal places but this is my new spot. The owner name is Joe he was very nice on the phone and offered me 10 cents more for my material
The cheat on the price and weight don’t trust them is not the first time they did it to me check the receipt they never put the price how much they paid for ponds
I’ve been using them for a few years now and I would never go anywhere else. I used to go to a few other places and this place is just better all around. Definitely better pricing than the other places in the Bronx or Yonkers. The owners are very friendly and they get you paid and out of there fast. Very convenient location also.
fast pace, but the shop owner and employee keep it straight forward and simple. no bs and weigh it in front of you. rates are reasonable/fair compared to other shops. i recommend this spot. ill come back again to do business again.
I went there today to recycle some stuff I had that I thought was metal, I approached someone I believe was the owner of the store and he looked at me and saw I was carrying something in my plastic bag and said "What you got there? It's not for me" .. I told him I came here to recycle some metal and he said "It's not for me, let me see what you got.." then I showed him what I brought, he saw one thing and said "That's not for me, leave it there and I'll throw it away" .. I appreciate that he took my stuff to recycle but I just didn't like how without even seeing what's in my plastic bag he said "It's not for me" and didn't even bother to explain why the stuff I had wasn't good for him. I didn't have an issue with his tone but I just think he needs to serve a potential customer better and explain to the customer why their stuff is no good instead of giving those "Get out of here" vibes from the start.
I have worked out many years of my life. I know if something is heavier than 19 pounds vs 40-50 pounds. They rushed me and robbed me. Or there is something terribly wrong with the scale. I didn’t want to lug the stuff back but my honest opinion he is a greedy thief don’t go there or weigh in somewhere else before going. You be the judge..good luck!!!!!!
This place makes every other scrap yard in Tri-state area look mediocre at best.. Owner is one of the funnier guys around and always give you the right price for what your metal is worth. If you want top-quality American is the place to be!
