This place is an absolute nightmare. Butter beware. Unfriendly, ignorant staff. Sure the tires are cheap, but when you combine it with the stunning ineptitude of this business, I don’t think honk the savings match up. I’ve been dealing with their mistake for over a week now. They broke a lug nut and refuse to take responsibility. They wouldn’t install 2 of the 4 tires I bought. I would have returned all of them, but they installed the ones they installed and refused to remove them. An absolute joke.

I'm in the same situation as a customer downstairs. I also ordered two tires. On the day of my scheduled installation, they said one tire had arrived, but the other was delayed, so they couldn't install them. I waited for about a week, but the second tire still hadn't arrived. During that week, I contacted customer service, but they didn't resolve the issue at all. So I canceled the order. I placed another order for two tires, but the result was the same: one arrived, and the other was delayed. I thought they would ship both tires together, so why did only one arrive? There must be an internal problem. So I changed my mind; I decided not to order two tires together, but to order them separately to see if there would still be a delay. If you're ordering four or two tires, I suggest ordering them separately. Replenish: Today I had two appointments to have two tires installed, one at 11 AM and the other at 12 PM. While installing the first tire, the technician told me he needed my car's wheel lock. I realized I had left my wheel lock at home, so I drove back home to get it and then returned for my 12 PM appointment. Although I had to wait a long time, the technician with glasses was very patient and helped me install the tires, even waiving the installation fee. I was very happy and grateful to the technician with glasses.

INSTALLED MY TIRES ON SOMEONE ELSE’S CAR! This has been a frustrating experience from start to finish. When I initially called to make an appointment, the man on the phone took my information and asked what kind of tires I wanted, then scheduled me for Sunday, January 11th—but failed to mention I needed to order the tires in advance. I showed up for that appointment only to find out they didn’t have the tires I needed in stock, which completely defeated the purpose of coming in and wasted my time. A kind employee ended up ordering the tires for me and scheduled me for 9:00 AM this morning to have them installed. When I arrived today, I was told they had installed all four of the brand-new tires I paid for onto someone else’s vehicle, and the woman had already left. They had to call her and have her drive back so they could remove my tires from her car and install them onto mine. To make it worse, the tires weren’t even the correct size for her car, and she told me what she ordered was completely different—so I’m not sure how any of this was overlooked. They waived the installation fee, which I appreciate, but I’m honestly shocked they didn’t offer even a slight discount on the tires themselves. My tires were mounted and driven on by another customer before being put on my vehicle, meaning they technically were no longer “new” and are now considered used. Waiving labor doesn’t fully address that. Also, while I was stuck waiting in the lobby for this to be corrected, one employee was making extremely loud, repeated coughing noises for an extended period of time. It was honestly uncomfortable and felt unhygienic—if someone is that sick, they really shouldn’t be at work around customers. Overall, this was a major inconvenience and I won’t be returning.

Had an appointment to get 2 snow tires put on in the front of my car. My appointment was 4 o’clock and got checked in at 3:55. At 5:30, the mechanic came and said we are pulling your car in now for tires. They did not realize that I have been waiting for an hour and half and my car was still parked outside where I had parked it. Ridiculous experience for someone who was waiting over a week to get an appointment made online.

I ordered tires that never showed up, my appointment was cancelled the day of, when I called to get some help I was left on hold for 30 mins and completely forgotten about. I’m pretty sure the lady actually meant to hang up on me. In the end I got no meaningful assistance. Abysmal experience.

Called to make an appointment and was put on hold. Well not hold really, the phone on the counter so I could hear all the conversations. I waited patiently for 10 mins then tried to call back. Then the message was unusually high volume call back later. They should get more help. They ignore the phone and only talk to you if you’re in person

Was running late for my scheduled oil change & they still squeezed me in. On top of that, I was almost due for a tire rotation & they even agreed to get that done while they had my car. And they've helped me out of a jam an earlier time as well when I got a flat & there was no charge. Like coming here. Real nice bunch of guys!

Try putting somone other than a woman (possibly in her 60s) in the tire center. Got absolutely nowhere calling trying to order tires she had no clue about tire size and awd vehicles lol what a joke

This was my first time getting an oil change at Walmart. Initially, I was a bit worried after seeing the reviews on Google, but my experience turned out to be excellent. The oil change was completed in just 20 minutes, and the staff were very nice. Sometimes, you can’t rely entirely on reviews, and at least for this location, the service was great.

I bought tires for the family car through Walmart in Rensselaer. From the beginning, the process was smooth and the prices for the tires were unbeatable. I caused a small hiccup by ordering tires for a different car trim level but we ironed it out just fine. The shop was immaculately clean, the people were cheerful and i can only say that I recommend the Rensselaer Walmart Auto Care center highly.

I called today to get tires for my Son's car Customer service Experience On the phone and in person.Very Helpful Great customer service Today. Set of 4 tires Installed within1 hour. So far tires are riding smooth. My sons can feel the difference. Which allowed us to do some grocery shopping.

I didn’t learn my lesson. I had to order my tires online for two of my vehicles. So both of them get 4 new tires. The tires come in and we bring both of our vehicles in as we had an appointment scheduled. Well, the gentleman that took my keys at 9 am bout went into a melt down.” You only have an appointment for one vehicle “ “ You just can’t…” I stopped him right there. I informed him that appointments were scheduled… needless to say, only one car was serviced that day. I rescheduled for my other car… and the same attitude… what gives? Fast forward three months later and I have to order online once again…. I get notified that my order has arrived and I scheduled a appointment for 9am… get there and of course I get told it’s a 2 1/2 hour wait… I shared that I had a 9 am appointment… he’s like listen, we went through this before with you…. And I responded, you took the same attitude with me then as you are now. I did nothing wrong but purchase and schedule as requested by Walmart! Avoid if you can! They may be less expensive but they place ZERO cares for you or your time.

Don’t bother making an appt here you’ll still be waiting over an hour cause they prioritize walk ins before appts. Lady at the front counter is cool but the men working on the cars are less than competent when it comes to time management.

I came a couple months back to get oil change and in the process of changing my oil OUT OF NOWHERE my coolant pump FAILS. Was working perfectly before I pulled in then as soon as I pull out, less than a half mile away my ALL of my leaked out. Of they said it wasn't their fault even tho they had a TRAINEE working on my car, who miraculously quit by the time I got back. Fishy huh? Not Walmarts fault tho smh. This time I bring my car and again it's working perfectly before I bring it, then when they get done this guy tells me Im leaking oil down the back of the engine. How? There was no leak AT ALL before you touched it! And when I speak to the manager AGAIN I can only expect him to say that it's not they're fault. I will pursuing it this time. Enough is enough.

Lifetime tire balance would be excellent if they could actually balance a tire. Post installation of 4 new tires, my steering wheel would shake at >60 MPH. Brought it to another Walmart location and requested a re-balance. Same deal. Suspected worn tire rods and replaced them, paid for another alignment, same deal. Brought it to a reputable East Greenbush route 9 & 20 business, and they found a tire off by 4 oz! They balanced it for me, and I've had no trouble since. This cost me a lot of time, money, and hassle. Although the Walmart staff was friendly and professional, I don't know if their equipment or lack of training is to blame. I would not risk going there again.

I called to make an appt & they had an opening within the week. Once I arrived I was immediately greeted by a mechanic. I checked in at the desk & they started working on my car shortly after. I browsed the store while they worked. They called me once the work was complete.Appt at 9am & was out by 10:15.

Terrible customer service. No one at the desk taking customers while there is a long line waiting. Staffs walking around don’t know what’s going on. Was told to wait for 30 mins but it took hours just for a standard oil change.

Needed a replacement tire specified at least 3 times it was the rear driver side tire that needed to be replaced. Went and picked it up didnt think anything of it - guess I should have checked but seemed like something anyone with even the smallest IQ could have handled - but the next morning I see my tire is flat again I realized they CHANGED THE WRONG TIRE. TEN PHONE CALLS later over a 6 hour period I FINALLY get in touch with someone in the auto department. They replaced the correct tire at no cost but was a huge inconvenience for something that should have never happened.

Would give 0 stars if I could. My front tires were all worn out that wouldn’t pass the inspection and my rear ones were still doing fine. Ordered 2 new tires online to get my front ones replaced. Went to the auto care one day to tell the service writer I want the FRONT ones replaced and told me it would take an hour to 90 minutes. Ended up taking 2.5 hours and when I saw my car coming out of the shop, I asked the mechanic if he took care of my front tires, he told me no, the back ones got replaced. Went back to check on the tires with the mechanic and saw that my good tires in the rear were replaced with new ones and my front still hanging onto the bad ones. He took my car back into the shop, took an extra 30 minutes until my car was finally out. Even though the new tires came with lifetime balance/rotation ($12 per tire), After replacing my tires, my handles started shaking when driving on a highway. Went to get rotation/balance a week later and told the same service writer my handles started shaking after I got my tires changed. He DENIED the fact and told me I would have to wait 6 hours to get my car in the shop. So I called a different mechanic, told them what happened, and when they balanced my tires, I was told that one of the tires were 2 oz off balance. WOW. I guess you get what you paid at Walmart. These guys definitely don’t care about your car or their service.

I've had tires installed here ,many times. They did a good job mounting them. You get what you pay for. If you're unhappy with it, go spend twice as much somewhere else. Like buying a Ferrari at the Kia dealership.

I went there for oil change and tire rotation. They did okay job. I had to tell them what way the tire rotation should be,but that's fine because they did exactly what I told them. Just one big draw back is they take very long doing so. They almost took 1.5 hr.

Excellent service! Employees work hard to help and satisfy everyone fairly on a first come first serve basis. Bought new tires. Excellent price and quality. I will definitely go back for next set of tires.

Everyone in this department was very friendly! I got towed in from getting a flat and had to have a new tire installed. When my car was ready it was dark outside, the auto center was closing, and I had my infant son with me. One of the employees shut the garage so my car could warm up and I could safely put my groceries and my son in the backseat. When I was done, he opened the door again and watched me back out so I was safe!

Came in to get two new tires put on, they said they could get me right in when I called. I dropped it off and in two hours they call and say they have an issue and I need to come in. Upon arrival they say a lugnut won’t come off so they can’t handle it and it is policy.... but the other Walmart I got it done at needs to handle it because they are the cause. So after two hours they did an oil change. Total waste of time, skip this one.

I would give 0 stars if I could. I brought my car to Walmart yesterday to have a tire repaired. They told me it was not repairable and I needed an entire set of new tires. I'm getting a new car in just a couple weeks and just need this one to be driveable in the meantime. I told them I'm not buying tires and to put everything back. I took the car to Mavis today and got the tire repaired with no issues. The tire was repairable, Walmart was trying to push me into buying tires. Never again will I take any vehicle of mine to Walmart for anything.

This is the absolutely worst place to bring your car. I needed a simple oil change and not even within 100 miles of getting an oil change my oil starts leaking out and I have absolutely no oil in my car, plus they charged me a ridiculous fee of $50 for an oil change. Come to find out, whoever worked on my car completely striped my car and screwed up everything. I now have to take my car to a real auto mechanic who actually knows what they're doing and spend a huge amount of work on my car all to these dumbasses. (Exscuse my language) the worst part of the whole experience was the customer service, I asked the manager to simply fire whoever did my car or have them work in another department and she said "weren't not able to do that". Obviously they're going to keep the employee who screwed up and keep screwing up more cars. I would not recommend this place to anyone, EVER. Go somewhere else or if you know anybody who's a mechanic who can do a simple oil change correctly, I would recommend that. Spend the extra money if you have it. Don't be a fool by these people
