People please count your own bottles before you go here. Especially if there are 2 people counting your bottles while you wait. The one person didn't add her count with the other guys. This is the 2nd time this has happened to me there. I didn't realize I was shorted about $5 until I got in my car as there were other people waiting. I will go elsewhere. 10/4/25
Rude and definitely short counts. 2 large bags, clean and dry. Some non-returns mixed in I'm sure but acknowledged that at the start and said I'd take them back. Paid out maybe half of what I brought. Based on all of the other similar reviews, will never go back. Go to Center Redemption in Rensselaer instead, friendly and honest.
First time I went here I felt like I was shorted. But I didn’t say a word. Second time I went I made to sure to count my cans and bottles before going. I had a total of 940. I had 8 smaller white bags with 75/pc and a big black bag with 340. I dropped them off and when I returned later the guy told me there was only 740. Absolute rip off, there is a 0% chance my count was off that far. Place is an absolute rip off. Find somewhere else to go TRUST ME PLEASE!
We already knew they undercounted our bags. Been doing it for about a year more often then not. Yes, the staff is also rude. However, this time we dropped off four bags and they said they would call us in a few hours. We never got a call. At all. They lost everything. Total. If you really want to go here do not drop off your bags. Period.l . Make sure they are counted infront of you and you know how many you have. Period. Be prepared when you request what you are actually owed, you will be considered a problem and treated as such.
They are all great every time I go here. Never have an issue and never shorted. I see multiple people put bad reviews for them but I personally never seen them do anything wrong. I think just some people like to complain.
Collected over 5,000 cans and bottles for a local charity. The girl who always answered the phone and called me back was always helpful and nice, but I can’t help but feel our charity was robbed. We were never informed of their policy that if there is any garbage what-so-ever in the bags, then they reduce the amount for ALL bags to $.05 per can. They said this was posted inside. Well, what reason would I have to go inside if I dropped off 5,000 bagged cans OUTSIDE? No one mentioned this policy either in person or the 3 or 4 times on the phone trying to arrange the best time to drop them off to not overwhelm them. Had we known, we would have sorted and even counted the cans and bottles ourselves for the extra .01 before dropping off. I called and asked if they would still honor the .06 this time, and the next fundraiser we would be sure to sort everything out and make sure all garbage and broken glass is removed. I told them I understood the policy and I wouldn’t even be asking if this was my own personal returns, but this was for a fundraiser. The owner refused to do anything at all. Also to note, the owner themselves couldn’t be bothered to call me back to deliver this news. They had the young girl be the messenger and be caught in the middle. We will never bring another returnable here again. The owner clearly doesn’t care about the community or local charities to even honor their advertised price. And I see I’m not the first reviewer who has noticed the lack of compassion for a non-profit cause for the community. Any other local business I’ve dealt with has always gone above and beyond to help with any charitable cause we’ve involved them in. I can’t help but feel this business has chosen to TAKE from local charity for an extra profit for themselves.
2nd time they have been rude to me but this time people need to know ...brought 123 cans & 1 box to be counted #1)they were annoyed at this as they don't want to have to count any #2) when box was counted 34 total for 157 they wanted me to carry all the 18 or 6 pack filled bottles to the back of the warehouse I asked if they could since I was bringing them in from a heavy rainstorm today staff acted like I was putting them out a 20 year old male in a good shape said well yeah I guess so #3) asked for the owners name and 20 something senior blond female employee said " excuse me ? No I will get him on the phone now for you " I stated that's not necessary she told me I am never allowed to come back here again ...umm....you are paid to do SOME WORK there it's not even your business I just needed a little kindness but that also was too much to ask as I left she slammed the door once I was outside ...apparently per miss staff member they always tell their customers you carry them to the back" umm I do all the time but it was raining thought they might show ANY CUSTOMER SERVICE....you might not get fired but time to expose the intimidation and service and attitudes there oh and sis.....ill be back to see you next Tuesday hun....thanks!!!
BEWARE! Our Foundation collects donated bottles & cans to help vulnerable children, especially orphaned, disabled and abused children. We brought a full 14 foot box truck load over with around 12,000 bottles & cans and this extremely dishonest company tried to only pay us for around 6,000 - going to court!
Fast easy way to unload your cans if you hate using the machines like I do at the grocery store. I just drop them off they text me when they finish counting my cans to come pickup my money, can't beat it
How convenient this shop is. I discovered it just prior to the pandemic hitting. I love dropping off my recyclables prior to heading to work. They do the counting and give you a call after they're counted to stop at your convenience to pick up your monies. The staff is all young yet very polite and respectful.
