Wonderful campground... quiet, well cared for, spacious sites right next to the river, and $24 per night for a spot for two people. The pools are great, not too hot and very clean. Super nice host, highly recommend this campground!

This place is just gorgeous. Primarily, the three hot pools. What a treat to walk over from the van in your robe at night, and soak under a blanket of stars! The campsite is basic to say the least but, you know what, if it were any more developed we'd have been priced out of the hot spring experience. $8pp for 2 hours or $12pp to park overnight in the van? A no brainer for us. We must have soaked 12 of the 24 hours we were there! So, overall, I highly recommend it.

I stayed one night here and had a great time, I thought it was a quaint, quiet place to enjoy the Gila. I used the campground mostly and went in the pools after dark, which is clothing optional when the sun goes down. Everyone, including the owners and all my neighbors, were respectful and quiet. When I didn’t have enough cash on me, Carla allowed me to pay by PayPal which I appreciated since the campground is far from services. I read some of the other reviews complaining about no showers, no handwashing stations and only a porta potty. Y’all, this place is primitive. Change your perspective and you might have a better time out here. Between two of the pools is a potable hot water spout, cold water spout, and a small “handwashing” sink, wash your hands there. If you’re the type of person who needs a clean shower while you’re camping, this isn’t the place for you. Many people complained about the small rocks in the bottom of the pools, get yourself some swim shoes… I will 100% be back here.

We had a wonderful experience spending the night at the campground / springs. Sitting in the hot springs staring at the stars and enjoying the conversation with other guests was worth the trip out. Carl was very nice who greeted us when we arrived. The pools were very clean and well maintained and we had a nice camp site on the river. Only three miles from the Cliff Dwellings. We will definitely come back again.

Great host who kept the area clean and the host springs at the perfect temperatures. Bathrooms were clean and the campsites were level and right on the river.

I stayed in my camper so I cannot say anything about rooms. You come here for the Hot Springs, the scenery and the journey getting here. Very unique. Just come prepared. They do have wifi. NO generators. Just suck it up for one or two nights

The care taker was super nice. He had a nice talk with my partner giving her the run down and letting her know she can find him if anything weird comes up. The river was 12 ish feet from our camp site and it was nice falling asleep to the sounds of the river. The campground was flat, easy to set up our tent on. The hot water from the spout made cleaning dishes really convenient. The road in and out is a little tight.

This is a wonderful bare bones campground in a beautiful setting with natural hot springs. I love it here. If I am within 100 miles on my travels, I will detour to visit. (The folks here really care!)

Awesome location! About 30 something miles from the highway, down a very windy country road. Make sure you plan out your route ahead of time, I didn't get a single bar of service the whole time I was out there. Seeing the stars from one of the immaculately clean hotsprings was a truly magical experience. I've never been to a campsite so quiet. It's right next to a beautiful little creek, and there's plenty of wildlife everywhere (outside the gates.) They also had pretty decently sized firewood bundles for sale. And above all in my book they were dog friendly!! Auggie is an awesome host, and we can't wait to return.

This is a wonderful place to experience. The owners and staff are friendly and helpful. The three hot spring pools are beautifully done, super clean and the temperature was about 103F. Campsites are primitive but tidy and adjacent to the river. Day guests and other campers were generally respectful and quiet. No generators permitted - excellent!

Beautiful place that was so well kept by the onsite manager Auggie. He was so kind from the moment I arrived, making me feel welcome and safe. The hot springs were super clean, beautifully built, and felt amazing. 10/10 will return

After hiking Gila Cliffs National Monument, we stopped at Gila Hot Springs & Campground for a nice, soothing soak. Carla was a very gracious host, and courteously answered our questions about the history of the place and her family's personal history there going back to the 1940s. The pools were clean and relaxing. Carla closely monitored the temperatures to ensure customers' safety. While we are not campers so cannot provide feedback about the campsites, if they are as lovingly and studiously maintained as the hot springs pools are, camping here would be a privilege. In reviewing previous reviews, seeing low ratings here and there makes me think those who wrote them must be pretty far out of touch; perhaps they expect Las Vegas-style accommodations out in the Gila National Forest.

Was there this weekend , excellent except the fact that only Portapotties , clean but very stinking , take your own grill , was there only 1 night but definitely will return , the 3 hotsprings pools were very nice , and you just CANT beat the fees ,

Couldn't decide 3 or 4 stars, but settled on 3. First, the setting on the Gila River is beautiful -- wonderful -- with large riparian trees and cliffs on the far, east side. The campsites are mostly spaced nicely along the river, with tables and fire pits, though some have a lack of shade in summer. The 3 fairly large hot pools are kept at about 100-103 degrees, the water was clean when we were there, and the beautiful rock work was impressive. Unfortunately, the bottoms of the pools are covered with uncomfortable pea gravel. The owner explained that this was to reduce the growth of algae, but I think I'd take some bottom algae over the gravel. The only two restrooms, in a mobile unit, were somewhat unpleasant and probably not quite sufficient for crowded weekends. The place is generally quiet and peaceful, but as usual there are thoughtless, obnoxious people, especially on weekends, while some inconsiderate neighbors allow (seemingly encourage) their dogs to bark excessively. My interactions with the manager and owner were pleasant and positive. Finally, $12 per person for camping seems more than fair. 3 1/2 stars.

This place was amazing if your looking for primitive style camping and hotsprings. The pools were clean and well kepted. Campsites were along the Gila River and not designed for large vehicles. Price was very affordable. Carla and Al were great hosts, I would recomend for a unique peacefull experience. Beware of the paved road as snakes narrowly through the mountains. The GilaCliffs at the end are spectacular.

Hot springs were not hot and odd but I guess until next they they got turned on?! Then our neighbor was this Dr lady that felt privileged because she knows owner. That’s plain not right. We were unloading and setting up our tents my 4 year old was excited and that lady came over being nosy and told my toddler to shush, mind you it’s 11 am. Like lady we drove a long way and that’s just normal toddler excited to stretch her legs. I work in a brokerage firm with higher end client and they have never felt entitled like that.

Carla does a magnificent job tending for this beautiful campground. Camp spots are spacious and the three hot springs are well kept. The goats on the way in are cute FYI, trash is pack in pack out and closest gas is a little out of the way if going back to Albuquerque. Plan to have 125+ miles available to reach the first gas station on the highway.

Great hidden space off the beaten path. Don’t let the first hill down scare ya. We made it in our rv. You will go by a farm for about a quarter of a mile before you get to the springs. The cost of camp is $10 and there is a day use fee if you just want to use the springs for the day a lovely river flows right by your campsite just can’t be beat. The owner is so friendly and nice.

Not worth the drive to get there. The gentleman was rude. The "hot" springs were maybe 85 degrees. Not impressed. I don't know how they can say it is a hot springs when it is man made and piped in. We were very disappointed. The only good part was seeing all the baby goats ? on the farm.

Stopped by to soak after hiking a couple weeks ago and had a lovely experience. The soaking pools are nice and clean and there is a shallow river to cool off in if you get too warm while soaking. The gentleman running the spring was very friendly. FYI there is a no sunscreen rule, but I wasn't told about it during the brief orientation before entering the pool. Be courteous and don't wear sunblock in the pools. If you are pale like me, there are pools with a cover so that you don't have to be in direct sunlight. The gentleman wasn't rude and acknowledge that he didn't tell me beforehand and I wasn't asked to get out, but did feel extremely bad for unintentionally tainting the pool. Anyways, it was great and for $8 I highly recommend it for anyone passing through. Bring cash!

The camping here is pretty epic. Most of the campsites are along the Gila river, and even the ones that are not are close enough. I spent two hours reading a book down by the river today. All campsites are close to the three thermal pool. ||As I’m writing this, I’m sitting by my campfire, looking at the cliffs with the sun going down, it’s pretty remarkable. ||The pools are all very clean, and the person that’s taking care of them, his name is Augie, cares about what he does and calls them “his” pools. I soaked in the late afternoon and talked with some wonderful people. ||Then soaked again at 930pm in the pitch dark, then Finally, up at 545am and soaked in the crisp morning air. That was particularly awesome. The last two were al natural. ||The campsites are clean and has their own fire|ring. They are far away from everybody that nobody cares about your business, and every campsite is full of sand so you’re welcome to go barefoot the whole time.

This is an absolutely amazing place. The owners are some of the friendliest people you’ll ever meet and the location is gorgeous. The hot spring tubs are clean, comfortable and the perfect temperature. I’ll definitely be going back.

The three spring pools have the same temperature which is about 103F, they are right next to the campers so the smell of lighter fluid could be strong and not as quiet as some other hot springs. There is no bathroom, changing room, or shower, only 2 porta potties and no hand soap either. Bottom of the pools are very rocky and hurts. 2hr limit and day uses till 6pm.

I've camped here and enjoyed the pools many times throughout the years. The gal who owns the place has always been quite pleasant...but that man she has watching over the property who lives in the bus is quite rude. Recently I came in to soak for 2 hours without staying at the campground and after paying the $8 required I was accosted by this man for not filling out the payment envelope properly. He also seems to have issues with people from Colorado. I was polite enough, but apparently he got so upset went into his bus and armed himself with a knife that he had displayed on his belt. I'm no threat to anyone at all and this man overreacted. I just wanted to soak...nice and peaceful. I will never visit this place again as long as he's there. The owner should have a talk with him about treating guest with more respect and to stop badmouthing people from other states...I am not the only one...I overheard him chewing out another older couple from Colorado that showed up. Rude and condescending. What a shame.

This amazing gem is a ways out of the way, and exactly where you want it. We stayed here on the way to visit the Gila Ruins cave dwellings. Reservations are a MUST!! We were warmly greeted by Auggie, a man of Native American descent, and with a gentle and wise nature about him, and a great sense of humor. The three pools were immaculately clean, the perfect temp, and not over crowded, due to the very low population of people, because there are only 12 spots! This was one of the best camping spots I’ve ever stayed in. The amenities, the price, the environment, and the people. Worth the drive. Next time, I’d stay longer! So much hiking and exploring to do in that area.

Everything about this place was fantastic. Easy to book via email. There is no cell service for the drive up or at the location until logged into their wifi, but the host Augy was there to meet me right as I pulled in, and gave me the intro. As a woman traveling solo, I felt very safe, and like the property was being monitored diligently, without feeling imposed upon as a guest. The mid there was maturity, relaxation, and the right balance of friendly and privacy. Everything is well maintained, simple, clean, and feels done with respect to the natural environment. I had a lovely time and it was well worth the long, winding drive. Making tea with fresh, naturally hot, mountain water was pretty special, too!

Excellent tent campground. Access to the hot spring pools 24/7 while camping. Quiet, no electric, toilet, no shower. We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay. Short distance to the Gila Cliff Dwellings. Wood and eggs for sale.

I camped here a few times back in 2016-17 ish. So peaceful right by the river. The hot pools are a special treat. I think it was around $10/night. The smell from the toilet did have a tendency to travel across the campground...I wonder if they've updated it since my stay. All in all, a fantastic place to camp. Would definitely come back.

First of all, the drive there is gorgeous. Roads are winding and well kept but the altitude can get scary in parts. The views are wonderful though. The campsite itself is well-marked and easy to get to. Hot Springs are impeccable and not too full during the day, the river behind the site is lovely and fun to explore (tadpoles!!). The camp host is very accommodating and kind.
