Went to buy jeans today and ofcourse I wanted to do the fitting first after spending a whole 30 minutes sorting them, when I requested for fitting, the lady who spoke Spanish told me the supervisor had the fitting room keys. Walked to the front to request her to open for me and he response was we do not have enough staff hence I cannot open the fitting room. I was just shocked, like it's the fitting room, I'm going to run away with clothes. I was to disgusted tbh, how do they expect someone to but clothes especially jeans and not fit them out. I just left them there and just left. The old nice lady at the counter who takes bags was sorry about it

Honestly, pretty upset. I found a really cool Metallica shirt on the rack for five bucks and when I took on my phone to pay at self checkout, a worker just appeared out of nowhere. Grabbed the T-shirt and said oh wow that’s marked wrong and told me I couldn’t purchase it because the tag was semi ripped. She then told me I had to wait until tomorrow so they can re-tag it and it’ll be put out in the morning. Honestly, that’s kind of a BS experience never coming back.

I love coming here to look around. There is always some good finds around from puzzles, books, electronics and just a wide variety of items.

I love this location! I live across the street from My Unique in Union and won't shop there. The Union staff should work a day or two a month in the Elizabeth store, watching and learning how to interact with live shoppers. I've been shopping here in Elizabeth since 2007. Everyone, from the staff to the clientele, is friendly, consistently clean and neat, and the store is fully stocked. You never have to wait for excellent service at the jewelry counter. Someone is waiting to help you with a smile. The ladies' department has clothing from NWT to great vintage pieces; the clothes are always neat, clean, and ready for a new home. I love the housewares too. It's a lot of fun shopping at the lower level, where you'll find furniture, housewares, books, framed art, DVDs, CDs, and much more.

The pricing here has gotten ridiculous. This is a thrift shop. These are hand me downs and people shop here to get by. I'm disgusted by the prices I've seen today. Hopefully they do better going forward. Exploiting poor people for gain is such a sad way to do business. These prices are looking above the prices at the Jersey Gardens Mall. Very disappointed.

I ask if can use the restroom and they say you have to go to the front, I when you the front and they say is close. If the door says only for costumers and I am a costumer I should be always open for all costumers

I have found wonderful housewares, clothes and art at this store. The staff is very welcoming. Prices are excellent

Very bad store. They sell damaged items and hide them. Customer service is extremely bad and workers are very rude especially the security staff. 0/10

The store was very busy midday Saturday. They have clothes on the main floor and housewares/bric brac downstairs. Three tag colors on sale at a time. Super happy with my yarn haul for only $11. Fast checkout. You will need to check any bag you carry at the entrance.

The management at this location is completely antagonistic against their customers and is constantly accusing them of stealing swapping prices and acting in a fraudulent way when it’s not the case they especially pick on older women and it seems like they have a preference to just like follow customers around the store and that makes sense but not when it comes to like harassing people when they’re trying to check out especially is the manager that’s at the front that’s always causing an issue And then I called to make a complaint. They hung up the phone on me.

First time at this location. Some items didn’t have prices on them which really sucks ! Not a big media which I’m really into. I did buy one movie. A beautiful flower bed sheet for $2.63 in the queen section but now I look at my receipt and see it says twin hopefully it’s not I’ll be so sad ! Overall the store is big. Down fall there’s no parking as it’s in downtown Elizabeth

Very disappointed with this store. I was there today to buy a wireless keyboard for my computer and I found one for 2 bucks and changed and it didn't even have its dongle! The keyboard is useless. Even though I got it for cheap, they need to make sure all the components are included! Very disgusted with the store.

They used to be my favorite thrift, so much so I'd drive an hour to shop here!! Now all of a sudden the prices are insane. OLD t-shirts and jeans $10-$15 on the cheap end, and I saw a leather skirt for $99!! I can get these pieces from the comfort of home on ebay or Depop for less. The $25 bag in my photo was dingy and poorly cared for leather, the Betty Boop shirt was online for less than half the price, it's crazy. Sad to say I won't be shopping here anymore.

They price everything using an AI system and it’s psychotic. Steve Harvey coat for $70 lol even if you wait to 75% off like $19 for a garbage polyester blend

It’s ok I do like the color saving code it’s easy to follow but some of the workers have customer service and I hate that you can’t pay right in front of them and they will still ask for the receipt even tho they watched your whole transaction

Unprofessional so called “security” just because he is armed thinks he can harass people and children and argue with them is ridiculous. Hovering while I pay, at that point just give him a cashier position so he’ll actually do something useful with his time instead of being obnoxious and arrogant. Was this security for cheap hire? Cause that’s what it’s giving with his unprofessional behavior. Again this is not a luxury store for him to be acting like that. It is just a thrift he needs to pipe down. Assuming we didn’t pay for items WHILE HES HOVERING AS WE PAY, is just him looking for a fight. Very poor so called security behavior. Go to the other location so you can avoid getting harassed by him.

I was here Saturday, June 1st and bought a Singer sewing machine, a table and other items. With it, i went to the back door but it was closed because somebody went out. I stayed by the door and tried to get someones attention to help me with my item until all of a sudden the same man that left the door open comes up to me asking me why i was coming in through the back door and why did I close it. I told him I was trying to call for help after he left the door open, and it closed by itself when i went inside. Later, I took my things outside to wait for my son to come pick me up until 2 minutes later, he comes outside with another employee to interrogate me, telling me he needs to check my bag. He started calling me a liar and accusing me of stealing and asks me why I didn't buy this table the day before? At this point I didn't feel the need to answer him anymore. He then told me that the next time I come, he will watch me as I shop because he thinks I am a thief. I've never felt so disrespected while shopping here. As someone who goes 2 to 3 days a week to shop here, he calls me a liar and a thief? His accent sounded Columbian and I found out that his name is Guillermo. He started speaking English with someone to call me a liar as if I didn't understand well enough. I never fill disrespect like this day was horrible.

I'm sending this message because I was verbally harassed by an armed security guard by the name of "Carrie" in store yesterday at the Unique Thrift Store located at 116 Broad Street in Elizabeth, New Jersey. I was at the self checkout with my son about to complete my transaction when my son noticed a particular item (sports jersey) that was hanging overhead nearby at the jewelry station. I asked the security officer if it was OK if we could quickly go take a look at the jersey before I completed my purchase. He replied to me "Sure, but one of you have to stay here at the register. He can go look by himself." I replied to him, "No, I need to go take a look with him", not feeling the need to explain to him why I needed to go with my son to examine this item. He then continues, "How old is he?". I say "Seventeen" and he continues "Seventeen? I think he'll be alright, what is he mentally challenged or something?". Unbeknownst to him my 17 year old son is autistic!!! How dare he judge, belittle and insult me and my son unwarranted. I told him "Actually my son is autistic, you should really watch the things that come out of your mouth." He actually argued with me saying "I aint mean it like that", was rude, quite arrogant and never offered an apology! We entered your store yesterday looking for very specific items for an extra curricular function for his high school fundraiser and never thought we would endure this treatment for simply wanting to see an elevated item behind the counter. I never thought a disability had a certain "look" to it and shoppers would have to be screened at the door by a bogus insecure security guard instead of shopping freely without being harassed. I was so upset by this exchange, that on the way out after I made my purchases I found the shift supervisor named "Damion". I expressed my concerns as "Carrie" tried to eavesdrop nearby to hear what we were talking about. His nervous body language deemed that he knew exactly why I was talking to the supervisor off to the side, but still never apologized. I would like an opportunity to express this concern verbally if possible. I want to make sure this disgusting and discriminatory behavior never happens again to anybody else. Moral of the story. TREAT PEOPLE WITH RESPECT OR ELSE ??♀️

The selection here is unbelievable. My husband and I spent two hours browsing the assortment of quality new-enough and vintage clothes, before we even looked at the variety of baby stuff, which is what we came for. The price is right, too. It’s not expensive like how Goodwill and Salvation Army have become. If games, toys, and gifts for kids is what you’re looking for, come here first. I saw large and intricate dollhouses, multiple rocking ponies, soooo many huge and adorable plushies, and of course an assortment of bouncy balls. They have essentially a wall of board games. If you have been to the Unique in Union City and left disappointed, know that the Elizabeth location is totally different.

Do yourself a favor, go to one of their other locations. Trust me. I won't bash the company because as a whole I enjoy shopping there. But the employees at THIS location, the lady in charge and the 2 bald guys especially are absolutely a deterant to shopping here. Rude would be to nice to say about they're customer service. They're im the boss complex has caused me never return there until the employee roster changes

Junk! My husband & I went in there once since it was recommended to us when we 1st moved in to our apartment. I would not buy from here they sell dirt pans, dirty stuff everything was used & nasty I would not buy from here and the prices are ridiculous! I rather go buy from dollar tree, family dollar, dollar general, Bobby’s store or Marshall’s & Burlington than this junk place and the prices are better.

I highly enjoy going to thrift stores, usually I go to the 22 location but today I decided to come here…wrong choice. First I was being followed by this tall young man who was a employee there, I’m not sure if he was trying to check me out or if he thought I was stealing. Secondly everything was way overpriced a jacket that normally is 10 or 15 was about 30 and forget about the gadgets. They have a very hostile demeanor and intimidating aura. I don’t feel comfortable shopping here.

They have so many things to choose from. I told myself ah 30 mins tops......I spent two hours there and still feel like I didn't see everything. I love books and comics and they have it. They even have little soap bags which makes it easier for the less fortune to clean themselves. The staff was so sweet too. I am definitely coming back to this store.

Stopped in hoping to find a few nice button down blouses. Found a couple as well as a nice blazer/jacket and a very decent lightweight jacket for my grandson. Cost of the 4 items - $28.96. Not bad - but I've made comparable purchases at lower prices in other thrift stores. Over time they have raised their prices - but then...who hasn't? Overall though - I enjoy browsing/shopping at Unique.
