Contacted the office to troubleshoot why the lock box for the U-Haul truck wasn’t opening. The employee was extremely rude, giving nothing but attitude and proceeded to hang up the phone. Extremely unprofessional. Stay away.

My daughter had an accident recently. The police called Basking Ridge Towing, they arrived quickly especially in work hour traffic. My daughter left a few things in the car, I called the towing company. The person I spoke with was helpful, understanding and assured us for the night the car was locked us tightly. They set up for us to come the next day and get what we needed. Over the past few days they have helped take the plates off, work with our insurance company to set up and come get the car. Never rude, never unhelpful on the phone actually complete opposite. They have been 100% helpful!!!!! We appreciate all they have done especially in a stressful situation as an accident where a car is heavily damaged. They made this situation a little easier.

HORRIBLE. NEVER SHOWED UP. My car broke down on 206 and AAA assured me that this company was on their way. After an hour of waiting I called them, and the man had NO IDEA what I was talking about, but he assured me he would call me back after he found out, which, of course he never called me back. No wonder this place has so many negative reviews, they're terrible. If AAA ever tries to send this company to you, refuse, they are absolutely the worst. My car broke down at 11am and I didn't get it towed until almost 3pm!!!

If AAA gives you this towing service immediately request an alternative. I got a flat tire at 8:37am and called AAA, and received a link to submit the request in the app, which I did. The app showed I should receive assistance in 15 min and proceeded to count down. Once it hit 0 min it stayed in that status for 10 min. I called AAA and they indicated there was issues was app and they called the tow service to get an ETA. They informed me who it was and said they hadn't left shop yet and that he would call when en route but they estimated he would be with me in 30 min. After over 45 min, I did not receive a call or help. I called again and was told he had not left the shop and it would be 30 min. I waited another 45 min and called again, to be told the same story. I informed the AAA agent this was the same story and requested they locate an alternative company since I had looked up the company on Google reviews and there was at least one other review that outlined the exact same situation I found myself in. I was told someone from AAA dispatch would call me, and they never did. Someone from NJDOT ended up showing up and fixing my tire at 11:17am. I was stuck between two major exits on the highway and was almost sideswiped twice. It was too cold to wait outside the car (20 degrees).

I called ahead to let them know what time I’d be there to collect my vehicle. I arrive on site there’s no one to be found. I call the phone number and he told me somebody was right around the corner. Yeah well 10 minutes around the corner. It was CLEARLY posted $195 to collect vehicle. Dude charged me $200 because I used credit card. Okay nowhere were terms listed

If I could give zero stars I would. I was in an accident a few weeks ago and my car needed to be towed. I was assured by the officer who came to the scene that basking ridge towing was great and they would handle my car with care. They not only took almost 2 hours to get to the scene of the accident but was so beyond careless with my car. It was leaking coolant and they used speedy dry to clean it up and instead of discarding it, they took it upon themselves to dump it in the back seat of my brand new car. When my husband called the towing company (which says 24/7 customer service) they declined the call and then the man who answered the phone was so unbelievably rude and argumentative towards him when we were just trying to get information about my vehicle and make sure it got there safely. Then when we saw what they had done to my car my husband called back and the man on the phone again was so ridiculously unkind to us and said the car was totaled so he didn’t care what happened to it. My car was in fact not totaled and now is an absolute mess. We asked how they planned to fix the situation and the man said he could honestly care less and told my husband to get a vacuum and clean it himself. I’ve never been more disgusted in a company and will forever tell anyone who will listen what a trash company this is. I wish them nothing but the absolute worst for themselves.

Tonight I had such a terrible experience with BRT. I was driving south on 287 and got a flat tire. I called my roadside assistance and BRT PICKED UP TGE JO . The ETA on the car app said 60-90 . I called them directly to see if they had a more accurate ETA and to let them know exactly where I was . I was told no, 60 minutes. I was alone on 287 and after an hour had to use the bathroom. After 90 minutes, I calle again and was told the truck was 10 minutes away. After the next 30 minutes, I called again and no answer. Not one of the 3 phone numbers I had responded or answered. They lied because after 2.5 hours, a different company was dispatched to me. Why lie, why take the job? I realize it's the weekend and Father's Day, but don't lie. I was at their mercy. They were so unbelievably rude on the phone, no empathy. I'm disgusted at how awful they are. I see their rating is really low on Google, now I know why !!!!

Dropped off a U-Haul here after a 42 mile trip (vehicle averages 10 miles per gallon, so about 4.2 gallons) and somehow Basking Ridge Towing decided to charge me for 17 gallons of fuel. Highly recommend taking a picture of your dashboard when dropping it off at this location.

I rented a UHAUL truck , very helpful and full attention staff they came on time and where very helpful. NOTE:Just make sure you confirm the time to meet at the pick up location. Thank you Garry !

I recently broke down and called this company. They were there in probably 15 minutes and took the time to explain what was going on and gave professional opinions what my opinions were to try and help me at the lowest cost. For everyone who had to wait I have also had to wait hours in the past but I understand that emergencies come up such as accidents or broken down cars that are in the middle of the road that cause concern to public safety.

Struggling to decide between 2 and 3 stars. At the end of the day I have to reflect the overall experience taken away. Made a reservation to reserve a Uhaul truck which was accepted. I showed up to pick it up only to see a locked gate and the truck tucked deep within the lot. No proactive call from the company. Instead I had to call them to learn that an employee has to get the keys. Waited an hour before he showed up. Then I got held up another half hour because of issues with the uhaul app so this company wouldn't let me have the truck until I made a completely new reservation. Now I have two identical charges on my CC still awaiting resolution and lost 1.5 hrs of my moving day. I have to be fair and say the uhaul mobile app is incredibly lacking, but the lack of urgency and customer service from this company was felt. The owner did exhibit honesty and genuineness.

Our car broke down last night around 11pm right off the Somerville Circle and our roadside assistance hooked us up with Basking Ridge Towing. Despite the other reviews, the driver was friendly from start to finish, even though it was a late night and he was almost on his way home. He even helped push the car into a spot at the mechanic shop. We wanted to give him a shoutout by name, but it was so late at night and we were so tired we can't remember what his name was. So if this was you, and you towed our car from Raritan to Bernardsville, THANK YOU!

Im given this business a ZERO. On Thursday 4/13 towing truck with license plate #XDHL54 responded to a call with instructions to tow my vehicle parked at parking spot #40. As per employee (driver of the truck) stated he received a call from to tow my car that was parked at spot #50. This person was given proof of my vehicle parking permit. However he still charged me $75 for him not to tow my car away. I have no idea how this company works but they are SCAMMERS! I given proof that my car was parked on spot #40 NOT #50 and he still demanded money. It will be nice if next time this person takes the time to check the number of the spot and parking permit placed on the windshield. He took advantage of a woman. If this would have been a man this would had’ve been different.

Absolutely terrible. I had to wait 3 hours for anyone to show up. After about an hour I called them and asked where they were and was told they would be there in 2 minutes. 45 minutes passes by and I call them again and get the same response, and this time I call them out. Once I do, they ask for my address like they didnt even know I was waiting for them. Someone finally shows up and he said that he didnt know we had been waiting for hours. He then wastes time by unnecessarily lifting my car up just to look under the car after we have already been waiting there. He then tells us that he is going to keep my car on his truck and he is going to do an impound in town. We tell him that he is not doing that and he is taking my car immediately. Absolutely awful service, whenever I called them I got the same response and they didnt even show up for hours.

First, they took about 5 hours to tow my car. Then they lost it. Literally. The place they were supposed to tow it to didn't have it. 24 hours later I get a call from some random gas station 7 miles from the tow destination that my car was there. I then needed them to tow it to the original destination which is closed on sundays. I called at 9am Saturday to have it towed. Was towed by 9pm. So I've been without a car for almost a week because of the incompetence of this company. Looking at other reviews I can't believe these guys are still in business. I, like everyone else on here went through my car insurance. I hope they drop them. One star is too much. This experience was a nightmare.

I STRONGLY discourage anyone from using this company. They are highly unprofessional, have I regard or respect for customers, and will leave you stranded. I waited 3 hours when they said their ETA was 90 minutes. When I called to follow up, they would not give me an ETA and then hung up on me as I was expressing my frustration of waiting over one hour above the ETA time. HORRIBLE company with absolutely NO CONCERN for stranded customers. They will never get my money. Ever. Beware and don’t say that you had not been warned.

They have no regard for customer’s time and the person on the phone is very rude. The tow truck arrives 30 min before scheduled time even when I told liberty mutual, my insurance provider that that I cannot be at the location. Then he leaves after promising to wait for me. I call the towing company to be told the tow truck will be back I. 20 min. The truck driver then calls me to tell me he cannot be there for another 3 hours. Their coordination and communication would be a joke if not a high waste of time for the customer

HORRIBLE. And I'm not surprised to see all of the other bad reviews. I needed a towing, so my car insurance ppl called this company to come help me. THEY NEVER CAME. I waited 3 hours before finally deciding to ask my mom to use her AAA. After an hour of waiting, I called Basking to get ETA. They said 10 minutes. I called in another 30 minutes and they said 10 minutes again. Then I called again and they started completely ignoring my calls. I never even canceled the order, and they never called to say they were there, which means they NEVER CAME. Ridiculous. I honestly wish I could give them ZERO stars.

I placed a roadside assistance request through my insurance (liberty mutual) and they used this company as provider, poor service and definitely not on time! I called as soon as the insurance gave me the information of the provider and the person who got the call informed to me they would be at the place in 90 minutes, he was definitely not friendly at the call, after the 90 minutes waiting I called them back and they never got the call, or got back to me! It is about 3 hours and they still didn’t show up and don’t answer my calls, totally disrespectful!!

I GOT MY CAR TOWED FROM HERE THROUGH CAR INSURANCE AND THINGS WERE MISSING FROM MY CAR!!!!! I was already going to give a bad review because they were supposed to come by 6:40-7 and he called me at 8:15 asking if I still needed it towed. Turns out my $40 USB-C iPhone charger was missing and other things were clearly shuffled around. I feel so violated. And icky. Knowing someone went through my car when I hired a service? I called and the owner immediately was defensive “are you saying one of my guys stole?” First off- I asked the same question to the car dealership where my car was towed and they were very nice and gracious and actually trying to help. This guy clearly wasn’t. I will also be reporting them to my insurance company to not use them. Not only are they late like every other review says, but now this? I have never had a problem with the dealership I used and I also reached out the the specific person who towed my car and he never answered me. Enjoy the charger!

Went through Pepboys to tow my pickup. They were over an hour later than their ETA, but I was in no rush so I didn’t care. I think the driver’s name was Darren and he was a really nice guy who quickly got my truck loaded and off to the shop. Charged me $75 to tow it 5 miles.

They arrived 2 hours and 45 minutes after the initial request. Everytime the insurance company called them, they said "10-15 minutes." They claimed that there was a big accident on the highway... there wasn't but even if there was, that accident was not 10-15 minutes away from my location. They lie through their teeth to string you along, so they can keep the insurance company's job order. Nobody should use them, they are enormous liars.

I had a very straightforward experience and couldn’t have asked for more. I had the tow arrive within an hour and had the pleasure of having David help me out. He covered all bases and was very pleasant and ensured a line of communication all the way through to the end, going the extra mile by delivering it to my mechanic with my special instructions. I thought the pricing was fair and though I hope to never need the service again, would recommend and in the event of, use them again.

Be patient, it’s worth it! Truck arrived maybe 15mins after quoted time, but the driver was lovely, quick and efficient! Made sure I was all set at the garage with the guy there before leaving. All wrapped up within 30mins of him arriving. Thanks!

Ok for everyone that’s writing these reviews I find it VERY hard to believe all this. First off you guys don’t know the business and secondly you guys don’t know how it is for us. You guys wait so what? We tow in different areas and sometimes where we drop off cars, your car or where your located is in a different part of town or completely different area. It’s time consuming and you guys have to understand that. From doing insurance calls to getting police/accident calls in the middle it’s very tough. And for the lady who posted up about truck 15, I’m gonna tell you something, either 1 he just got done doing a job and forgot to turn them off OR you were tailgating him and that’s why. Because not for nothing if your tailgating my truck, your definitely getting the blinders so stop with the BS. Everyone here is negative about everything and that’s because you guys don’t like waiting. Guess what your car broke down? Oh well your going to have to wait. Not our fault that we have OTHER CALLS to attend to. You guys act like your priority number 1 before all other calls and your not. Our guys do our best to tow cars but some of these cars are different and difficult from the earlier versions of cars. So I would suggest and appreciate if you guys please be a little bit more patient with us. And by the way I am a driver for this company so if you see me nice to meet you.

Negative stars! Chevy roadside assistance hired this company to tow my boyfriend. 3 hours past the scheduled tow time, we were still waiting and had to get another tow. After 4 hours of the scheduled time, they called to say they were on their way. Long story short, awful company! During those 3 hours, they messed up and canceled our tow and wouldn't admit that they made a mistake and canceled the wrong people. Terrible attitudes, not helpful at all.

Was told that they would send tow truck in 1 1/2 hours. Waited 3 hours before they showed up. I had to call twice to get ETA. You would think they would call me to say there would be a delay. Don't use this company. They lie and don't care about customer's problem. They are not dependable.
