Great experience at this location I was helped by Kenneth L and he made it super easy and was super personable. You can tell this place is ran very well every rep had their customer service hat on. Coming back for my next sale or trade in.

Coming here makes me never ever want to deal with traditional dealerships ever again. The whole staff was very nice and friendly. My sales guy Luis was awesome, good guy and was helpful through everything and answered any questions I had. 100% would recommend to anyone.

The car was in an accident and the accident history tool you use did not show it. I paid for a car fax report that showed the accident. I then took the car to get inspected and they found many issues with the car caused by the accident. The inspection was over $500 out of my pocket and the car fax report was another $100. When I went to return the car one of the sales managers was trying to charge me $350 for scratches on the bottom bumper that was there when I bought the car. Even the sale men at time was letting me know that there are some scratches because it's a used car. So I had to fight with the Sales manager in front of my wife and kid to make sure I received my full refund. I will never shop at any CarMax again.

Went last night to sell my car (bought a new one) I did the online appraisal and answered all the questions to the best of my ability. Went in and they looked over the car, literally took 15mins. They came back and gave me what the online offer was. I was extremely happy and was in and out within the hour. Brandon Jones was the representative that helped me, he was very professional, polite and answered all my questions with an honest and respectful manner. I’m happy with my experience with Carmax, I highly recommend going through them.

They paid me exactly what the online quote was. Vey professional and no pressure to buy. Highly recommend! Another company offered about a third of the online offer saying that th online offer didn’t account for mileage.

The salesperson Kenny in Edison, NJ was very nice and answered all my questions. He explained each step of the process. At the end after he handed me the check, he called Lyft to take us home.

I was very disappointed with my recent visit to this dealership. While speaking with one of the employees Shanice , she made comments that came across as racist and offensive. This made me extremely uncomfortable and left me feeling unwelcomed. I expect professionalism and respect when I visit any business, and unfortunately, that was not my experience here. I hope management addresses this issue so that other customers do not have to go through something similar.

Stopped by CarMax to sell my car and it went better than I expected. They offered a stronger value than the dealer, which was a pleasant surprise. I didn’t have an appointment so the wait took a bit longer, but nothing unreasonable. The staff were friendly, clear about the process, and kept things moving once it was my turn. Overall, a smooth experience and definitely worth it if you want a fair offer without the usual hassle.

I scheduled a confirmed appointment for CarMax to pick up my vehicle at my home. I spent time preparing, waited two days for the appointment, and stood outside for over 90 minutes with a leaf blower running, unable to hear my phone. CarMax abruptly canceled the appointment because I didn’t answer their call or text quickly enough—even though I was already outside, on time, waiting for them. At no point did they state that live phone confirmation was required for a scheduled pickup. This wasted my time, caused unnecessary stress, delayed the payout I was expecting that day, and the next available appointment they offered was six days later. Absolutely unreasonable and one of the most ridiculous customer experiences I’ve ever had with a major company.

I got a great VW Jetta. Property is clean and staff are professional as well as knowledgeable. If you go... Deal with my man Kenneth. He knows what he's doing and is a rock star. Thank you Kenneth! See ya at Fogerty! Seriously though, it's a great place to buy or sell a vehicle.

So I bought my car in March of this year a 2020 Hyundai Tucson with the help of Mark, Alex and Tyla. All three of them are very amazing. I test drove six different cars with Mark and Alex and Tyla helped me with all of the closing and signing a paperwork when the 2020 Hyundai Tucson was shipped in from PA, which was free of charge overall amazing experience. I was out of there in under an hour because I came with a preapproval letter from my bank, Mark, Alex, and Tyla we’re so helpful and very understanding I had come from a situation where my first ever car was totaled, the day I had came in I had came from four other dealers who told me it was going to be to 2 to 3 weeks before I could get into a car and with my job I need a car for Work. Carmax and their team were there to help me. I got a car within four days, the three of them were so helpful and guiding me through the whole process and helping me speed up my process with the bank for the loan. also explaining their Carmax Care( extended warranty) on the vehicle, walking me through all of the paperwork and answering every question I had I will definitely be coming back to them when my dad needs a new car. This location is awesome and answered all my phone calls and questions I had. So far I’ve not experienced any wait times when calling them for the Carmax care or scheduling service although I haven’t need to have anything but oil changes because I drive so much for work, but Carmax has always answered the phone when I’ve called!

Very solid experience selling my car. Efficiency was outstanding. Helped I did as much as I could online but really smooth to do the transaction once I brought the car to their location. Would definitely sell a car this way again.

I test drove a car at this dealer and left my wallet in the car by mistake. The last customer for the day and the car was reserved for me to return and purchase. When the car was taken back for cleaning someone stole my wallet. Before I could even call back the next day, they had proceeded to begin using it. All over North Brunswick NJ, and even in Clifton. I spoke to someone in the business office and they promised to look at the cameras and call me back. I never got a return call. And, on top of that, they sold my reserved car before I returned for my purchase appointment. Terrible experience.

Fantastic experience with Car Max. They give you a great extended warranty also. You can find very seldom used cars for great prices there! Buy a car that is maybe 2 or 3 years old with less than 20k miles and save a fortune!

I walked in to sell my car here after getting my appraisal online and the process was super smooth. Sierra was so great! She had such a great energy and attitude and the process seamless. They kept the same appraisal value after inspecting my car in person. Would highly recommed!

Worst Experience Ever – Mercedes Benz at CarMax I visited this CarMax location to purchase a Mercedes Benz I saw listed online. The ad mentioned only a small dent on the hood, but when I arrived, the actual condition was far worse: 1. Dent on the hood 2. Scratches on the front bumper 3. Scratches on all doors 4. Dent on the rear door 5. No heating system When I raised these concerns, the response I got was that they could “buff it out.” Really? For a premium brand, that’s not a real solution—it’s just a temporary fix that will likely come back in a few weeks. To make matters worse, one of the staff simply said, “It is what it is. Take it or leave it.” Is that seriously how you treat customers?

I had an amazing experience at CarMax of Edison. I dealt with Austin, as my sales rep. Super cool guy, personable, kind and overall a person with respect and ambition. I didn’t want to go through the hassle of selling my car privately, and they got me very close to my desired offer on my Lexus. I was able to easily upload all of my documents online the day before, made an appointment and even came in early. I was greeted as soon as I walked in, the showroom was clean and modern plus the entire transaction literally took 30 min, between me walking in the door and then receiving my drafted bank check. We actually spent more time talking about our personal life than the actual transaction. Which for me, made it even more comfortable. I was offered water, and I even got a free Lyft ride home which was a huge plus. The process was seamless signing the documents and I may even come back for next purchasing needs. This business model should be the new standard, and it really made my day.

CarMax has simplified the car selling experience that I could not believe how effortless it was. With everything uploaded online, all I had to do was drop off my car and I was out the door with my check shortly after. What also made the experience stand out was the customer service. Definitely need to give a shout out to Randy, who assisted me through the process, as he was fast, friendly, and professional. So knowledgeable and I would definitely recommend booking an appointment with Randy if you need to sell or buy a car!

Fast transparent service helping me sell a car that was on lease. They did all the paperwork and even called and arranged everything with my leasing company. Service exceeded expectations and I was able to sell my leased car within 2 hours at the price they had offered me online. No hassle transparent service from Alex who helped me with everything. I came to CarMax to sell my used vehicle. In my case the offer after inspection did not come close to the online offer. The process took about 1 1/2 hours when I was told it would take a half hour. At the end of the day we were able to make the transaction. The Edison location is quite large. Their inventory seemed extensive, but this review reflects my experience selling a vehicle, with no purchase.

Kudos to Kenny for helping me with the deal.. Kennyy was just awesome .. fantastic service... Trying carmax for the first time . Was trying to sell my Honda civic . Actually the online rates with carmax was few hundred $ better than caravana or vroom. Once we do the online quote , you can schedule an appointment and take the car to the carmax location , for them to visually inspect your vehicle . After visual inspection, they give you a final appraisal offer : ours was the same price as the online quote . Very very good way to buy and all cars - with carmax .. I was amazed with their office and the number of staffs they had . The only issue I had was - I had an appointment to appraise my car . Had to wait 30-45 mins even though we had appointments scheduled . After appraisal , they gave a quote and we had to bring our original titles from home . We came back in 30 mins but they put us on walk in appointment again which took about 1-1.30 hours ! After waiting for 1.30 hrs they asked us for another document . Ahhh.. hope they can better this process . Like dmv, they should have an employee or receptionist check the docs and not wait unnecessarily for 90 mins ! If the process of selling improves, I’ll surely give them 6/5 stars … still a good experience overall …
