Hi, Sims scrap metal out of Åll scrap metal yards Sims in Jersey city is the worst in pricing and paying, and getto unprofessionals. The Sims in Newark is better. Thēse Blk guys are rude & Disrespectful. They use the 'Magnet' trick to pay u less. Sneaky. I rather go to Staten Island, or Newark & thêy Pay more.
Its one thing to see all the horrible reviews for this place and wonder how they keep it running. The people dont even pick up the phone when you call for pricing inquiries on top of the horrrible reviews. I can tell the staff changed becuase all the good reviews are from years ago. If you come in takea good look at the staff. Take pictures and post them so they k ow they cannot get away with not functioning like a business. I promise when you take out that phone and start recording . Alot changes. The part that baffles me is if its your job and paying you why would you regect and offset potential business and continuous money? ... its because ita a scrap yard nobody cared about the standard. This is why you must take out your phone.
Went there for the first time asked how much clean light copper was the rude employee in the yard said $1.90, I responded by asking why aren't you paying market price ? ( which was $2.60) within 5 minutes the price went to $2.60, the scale tool 20 minutes to do a 5 minute transaction . The people are ratchet rude . I will drive 45 minutes to go to Blewett where there rates are posted and market prices are paid . Simms metal are rude , not honest and are in efficient.
The peddlers scale is a great experience. The staff are extremely helpful to new recyclers. They provided tips about how to best separate items to obtain the best pricing. They appear to enjoy helping you learn about the overall process.
Unless you know some of the people that works in the yard than and only than will you get the right price or you are working with the yard worker's they have there favorite and as far as the scale goes it's not true and your not paying the prices on the national chart you people are paying way less than national price the only thing I can truly say that its impossible to get the right amount of scrap when you're weighing the car or truck and the passages
If you are stuck getting loaded here good luck. The sheer incompetence of the dock workers never ceases to amaze. Seriously some of the dumbest people I've ever met; they cannot understand even the simplest of instructions.
Donated a car. Accidentally left a few items in there. It was sent to Sims Metal Management and asked Joe MULTIPLE times to take the items out of there and place it to the side. He claimed the employees "thoroughly" checked but found nothing. Its crazy when you do something good just to have your things stolen from you. Personnel should be fired. If only i could give negative stars.
Sims Metal Management is a great place to do business I love the fact that everyone that works at Simms or person people or people person. There is only one person that works for Sims that shouldn't be in the front yard and his name is Harvair. He's not a people person and he always appeared to be drunk which I feel that is something that should be looked into now they put a guy in the small yard name Rob he is disrespectful and not a people person whats wrong with the higher up people at Sims in jc Rob should be put in a place where people can't see him and that thing on his face needs to go he just started working there and I've been coming there for 7 year I know more about the small yard there then he do but this guy Rob talk to me like I just started coming there yesterday I tryed my best to talk with someone from the office about this guy and they gave me the cold shoulder ask Peter and D about me I'm one of the most friendliest guys in the world but now that Rob is in the same yard I feel sick to my stomach whenever I see him because he's not a nice guy to work around people I love doing business there but with people like PETE AND D that his been there for years but not disrespectful people like Rob in the small yard I shouldn't have to feel uncomfortable when I'm bring my metal there yes I'm the small guy but give me my respect like PETE and D Thank you for your time in this very important matter
This is all the reason why I choose this place to go to there's other out there I might can get more but I feel as if I'm part of the team here and I like to think all of the guys that show me the difference between metal here
