My sister graduated there as a commuter. She finished w a psychology degree. She works as a caseworker making great $$$. Her experience at Montclair State was beneficial for her future.

i spend like 6k every semester to go here, a lot of stuff is broken and professors either call out or get their information from google ai. I wish the material were more challenging and less like high school 2.0, I do enjoy the views and parking deck, I’ve only eaten here a couple times and it’s nostalgic but I haven’t eaten there recently so I don’t have much to say on that topic. It’s very quiet which I enjoy and everybody is looking down on their phone which gives me the chance to try an outrun the high altitude winds and lack of oxygen going uphill. I love going to class so it’s 3 stars.

My daughter got various external scholarships. She also got a scholarship from Montclair to cover some of the cost. Halfway through the first semester they decided since somebody else gave her a scholarship they will deduct it from what they gave her. So basically they're taking money away from her. When she contacts the financial aid department she gets no no emails returned. The communication is terrible. It's really disappointing that a university is run this way. Trying to get a call back or an email reply is non-existent. It is a total scam. It is called "displacement" and is illegal in New Jersey. Don't believe whatever amount of money they offer you is what you will actually get. Makes me very angry.

I saw someone admiring the beautiful view, and obnoxiously, an eagle flew down and decapitated this person. Not coming back..

Left the accounting masters program after realizing I was being lied to. They wanted me to take out a 10k student loan (x 4 semesters = 40k) for a “career changer” degree that would not have yielded value.

Montclair has been a good experience for me overall. The campus is nice, most professors are helpful, and there are a lot of resources if you actually use them. Parking can be annoying sometimes, but the school itself is solid

Montclair University is one of the safest campuses and offers a great education with great professors.

This school is terrible. The people who work here are not respectful what so ever. very unwelcoming atmosphere. dont come here

School is great as far as I know but it’s a commuting school so why can’t they figure out traffic on campus? How about a pedestrian bridge to the parking lot?!

Visiting this university felt like stepping into another world. The campus architecture has a beautiful Mediterranean feel, with yellow and beige stucco buildings and classic red-tiled roofs. It’s not just the stunning campus that stands out — as a state university, it also offers a strong curriculum and a solid education. The combination of great academics and a gorgeous setting makes it a truly special place.

Montclair was a lot of fun. Beautiful campus, great facilities, and the people are what make this school so amazing. I recieved my MFA here. It was where I decided to fulfill my life long dream of getting my highest concentration in Art. If you are seeking a great school in NJ where you can grow and learn, Monctlair is the school you are looking for. I gurantee it.

Make it make sense. 2 or even 3 students in a room sharing 1 mini fridge?! It is not like Sam's has the best food or choices when it comes to vegetarian or vegan choices. The regular food is subpar. We are students not only paying for a decent education but also a decent on campus experience and you guys are borderline failing. Subpar food drives us to $$Uber Eats or go to a restaurant. Sam's Place needs to step up or #ExitStageLeft. The food as well as the dorm room experience are both nothing to brag about. Some rooms with AC and some without any. #MSU needs to do better. ???

Thought this was a decent college. I paid for a relative to attend and graduate here. What a bad choice. I felt that this college was nothing more than a money grab with a degree that was almost worthless. Degree programs padded with yoga, bowling, skating, and climate change. While there were parts that were useful, that could have been concentrated in less than 1 or 2 years. Very little for actual real-life work. Be careful what you think you are getting.

I like this university campus. Is very green and neat. There is happy silence here and many times you can encounter a deer around. They have huge buildings and structures that belong to the university which also has library .

I attended an Open House event and it was well organized. They provided both print and app based agendas. It was easy to find our way around since they provided a map and posted guides throughout the campus. The academic session were thorough and insightful.

Now that my son is graduating I can write a review. The school administration, professors, and overall staff are unresponsive and ill informed. Takes weeks to get answers and then they are conflicting. Graduation ceremony multiple posts graduates need to be there for 11 no 12 no 11. Guests can arrive 60 minutes early. Guests stand In Parking lot 7 . No one there directing people to opposite side of building for entrance. Graduates just standing around in the parking lot again no direction. Not sure why I would expect anything more it's been 4 yrs of an incompetent administration what's a few more hours

My son is going there in the time of Corona, so it's really hard to tell. Many of the dining options are closed or are limited (rightfully so as there are far less students on campus), not many in person classes, etc really take away from the "college experience". Hopefully before he graduates he'll be able to enjoy his time at Montclair.

For all the higher education options available, please use your money to attend a higher institution who cares about their students and provides a holistic and rewarding experience versus treating students like account receivables. There are far more supportive institutions in NJ that are far more reliable and lucrative for your future than this school which cares more about your tuition dollars received than the education and support system put forth. Poor value, poor staff, poor support. Do better and be better if you're looking to educate young minds. Do not go here and make better choices, it impacts your future tremendously!

First visit to the university. Having in person classes excites me more. Pretty big campus , they even have a shuttle service. At the entrance I first saw the music and then theater courses, then the red hawk Building. I had a tour of gym , swimming pool, and classes . Everyone is nice and helping. Classes are big. They are following covid guidelines. Chairs are at distance from each other .

The rink just reopened.so far the free style ice is not crowded, only three students. Dance/pair can skate together, but cannot touch each other.

We went there for a sports clinic . Nice facility and staff. The campus seems well maintained and up dated. The training was professional. I’m not certain about the academics, as we were not there to take a class. The campus is a bit sprawling and it took a bit to figure out where we needed to go...all in all- the road signage is adequate. There is a Yogi Berra stadium which looked interesting.

I went here my freshmen year before transferring out. The campus is nice. Professors were alright, but I found it to be more of an extension of high school then a university. There were many kids in my classes who didn't want to be there. Which I found odd, considering the cost. And the administration is a joke. Good luck even getting the registrars office on the phone! I ended up transferring to Boston University and I feel as though I fit in much better on that campus.

This is a top-notch university which has a gorgeous campus. Did my undergraduate work here for history and education and got hired right out of college. Now I work here in the summers at their gifted and talented program. The biggest drawback is the lack of parking

Went here for my undergrad and grad. Campus is great although it gets pretty windy, and it tends to close up on the weekends. The train station doesn't operate on the weekends so you can't easily get to the city, but the Harrison path station is just a 10 minute drive away. I'd consider going back for a PHD if they offered one in economics or finance.

If you want to get an education that will prepare you for the real working world then look no further. The facilities are being improved but the campus resources and technology is 1st class. The technology on campus is overall better than Rutgers and NJIT!! If you are going to study some form of business than this is the school for you. The School of Business makes you work but it is well worth it. The career services go above and beyond. Tuition, books, and food on campus are ridiculously high and parking is a nightmare but this is true about most schools. A college with an empty parking lot is doing something wrong. As for tuition, you pay for what you get. The gym on campus is 5 star, the computer labs are great and are located all over the academic part of the campus. There is a great study/social environment. The public transportation stops on both sides of the campus and the school shuttle service is far more advanced for a school this size. You can not go wrong if you are trying to find a small school feel with big school amenities.
