I had issues with my rear mounted brake light, and was attempting to fix it myself — as someone who is very inexperienced with cars, that proved to be a challenging task. An incredibly kind and helpful associate immediately came to help me. I was only asking him what part I should buy, but he not only let me borrow the part, he even came outside with the part and helped me fix the bulb. I did not catch his name - but it was today at around 4:30 pm. I was blown away by his sheer kindness to immediately come and help me out with this repair. I have been to many auto zones, but this was the best experience I’ve had by far!

Literally the third autozone to tell me the same thing, "they don't have the machine for the check engine light." I drove here cause you're supposed to be able to help.

The store manager Sherman is very rude and incompetent. Also the store is terribly maintained. This is coming from a fellow autozoner. I do not recommend going to this autozone at all!

I very impressed with 1136 Washington Ave Belleville NJ store, they replaced my battery with ZERO money out of my pocket of course I had warranty but they really help me in the all process. Thank you AutoZone!!!

Kelvin was super helpful in helping me get a new battery. He was accommodating and checked the status of my previous battery and then showed me all the battery options. Lastly, he installed the battery and answered all my questions. Best service I ever had.

I came here to get my battery checked. The guy told me that he could not check it because there was not a paper that was on the battery that needed to put in the information. Then he explained to me that they don’t put in batteries no more that it’s not allowed even though for years I had my battery put in no problem here. He said it was courtesy that AutoZone does which they did for years and it all of a sudden they don’t do it no more so I left TR not feeling so great because not only were they not providing what they did before but there was an attitude that went with the whole conversation just felt like it was very unprofessional I went to AutoZone in North Arlington and had a completely different experience altogether not only were they friendly and helpful professional? I found the answers I needed there and the other store I seriously doubt I’ll be coming back to this AutoZone.

My husband visited the store to replace his car pads and informed the associate that he was purchasing two sets of front pads and two sets of rear pads. However, the associate responded with a dismissive attitude, claiming that such a request was unheard of. The associate’s tone was sarcastic, and she even questioned whether my husband had to perform the task himself or if he could simply let the mechanic handle it. While I understand the importance of educating customers, I hope the associate would not make assumptions about my husband’s abilities simply because he didn’t use the correct English words. Her tone and the way she asked the questions made him feel foolish and inadequate. It would have been more appropriate for the associate to provide proper customer service and refrain from teaching others if they were not specifically asked to do so. After all, having knowledge about the products you sell does not make you superior to customers who may not have the right vocabulary to express their needs.

I had such a great experience at AutoZone today thanks to Victoria. She went above and beyond to help me out. Not only did they patiently answer all of my questions, but they also took the time to explain the different options for my car and made sure I got exactly what I needed. What really stood out was how friendly and professional they were. They didn’t rush me, made the whole process stress-free, and even gave me tips on how to maintain my car so I wouldn’t run into the same issue again. It’s rare these days to get service that feels this genuine, and I left feeling confident and taken care of.

Been shopping at this autozone for over 10 years and had one of the worst interactions with a manager named joshua. By far the worst customer service I have received. Why is he down talking to me like I’m his son and trying to give me life lessons as if I asked him for It. Very rude and unprofessional on the way he talks to customers, he told me to shut up it’s his turn to talk. I would hope they get the proper training before they are put in a manager position. I bought wipers 8/13/25 and asked the person behind the counter if they were the wrong size are they returnable and they said yes as long as I had the receipt. I go in today to try and return or exchange them and waited 10 mins for him to come out the bathroom to help. These wipers have never been installed let alone used. He’s claiming I used them cause the pack was ripped inside the package. I’ve never installed them, they could have been broken prior to me buying them. The return or the money isn’t the issue here but the way this guy talked to me and other people based on other reviews is crazy do better on hiring people. Customers who shop local are the reason you guys are still in business.

I have been trying to get in contact with the regional manager for this location. I was denied a refund for a CR1616 battery purchased on August 15, 2025 for $10.65. On August 17, 2025 at approximately 10:20 AM, I spoke with the store manager and another associate, who informed me that AutoZone’s policy does not allow returns of opened battery packages even though I presented the proper receipt. I explained that the battery had not been used, that the issue was with the key itself, and that they were welcome to test the battery to confirm. However, they refused, stating it was store policy and that they did not have the proper equipment to test the battery. When i spoke to customer support they informed no such policy exist. If there are no resolution my next route will be to file a BBB complaint.

The worst service I've ever received. The elderly woman at the register has a terrible attitude and lacks knowledge of the parts. She's very sarcastic and rude. I'm sorry this is the closest store in my town, but I don't plan on returning to this place with such bad service. If you want help, look elsewhere. This place is useless, better places available in the area

Really nice staff but an overwhelming majority of them lack competence in this stuff. Went to get a new car battery, first guy sold me a DEAD BATTERY, an error that had to be corrected by someone else. Battery was put in and car wouldn’t start, was told it was the alternator. They wouldn’t even help me jump the car to get it to the mechanic, and on top of that they had a “mechanic” that wasn’t employed there tell me the alternator was completely shot and that the only option was towing. 2 hours later and $180 my mechanic tells me the cars running and everything, the battery was put in WRONG by Autozone. Their negligence cost me almost $200

Not the most knowledgeable staff bought 2 led taillights and couldn't return them because the package was open well I had to open it to install them and it caused a code on the screen in my truck "check tail light bulb" causing a fast blink. If someone what they were doing they would have told me don't buy them they will not work with your 2015 Chevy Silverado even though they do fit

Came here to buy windshield washer and wheel wrench. I was the only one at the store when i came in. Joshua and another employee where very busy on the computer.i asked if anyone can check me out. They saw me waiting and didnt say anything. I waitedt for at least 15 mins until A few more people came and as soon as those people were ready to pay joshua started yelling out if ur paying with card u can do self check out. Pls fire this guy

There was a young man named Chris who was such a pleasure to work with. I wanted to make sure my battery was okay and he came outside to test it for me. After checking it he quickly helped me replace it and explained all of the options clearly to me. He even took time to change it for me and made sure everything was okay before I left. He was very helpful and professional. I'd leave more than 5 stars if possible. He really did an amazing job.

This is a nice store But the main problem is when you want to pay. There are not experienced employees at the cashiers Always you wait along time to pay One person is in the computer and another is always watching or trying to lean how to work . A young kid after 15 almost 20 minutes waiting finally it was my turn to pay He charged me the right amount but he gave me the wrong change $10 less than he was supposed to. This is how inexperienced the employees are. Just saying Employees need to be trained and be more efficient specially when there are many customers waiting to pay.
