This place is by far all about the money and nothing about the service or customer satisfaction. I brought my vehicle in because the steering wheel shook every time the car reached a certain speed, it shook when I release the gas and when I pressed the breaks. I informed the owner Al that I thought it was a steering electrical problem because the steering jerked at times. He replaced my front suspension and said my rims were bent. He offered to fix my rims for $1,000, I told him I'll buy new rims for less than his price so $3500 later the steering still shook and when I called the shop he all of the sudden was never there and the mechanic was passing messages back to him that I want the problem I initially had with the steering fix since the $1,700 of work he did, did not fixed the shaking. He let the mechanic know that I still had to pay for the service all over again so I took my car to another mechanic and, "guess what"? It was the steering column needed to be replaced. So if you want to get ripped off, go to Elmwood certified. They are professional rip off mechanics there.
I’ve been bringing my cars to this shop for a while and was always pleased with their work, but a recent experience was a real highlight. After having my brake pads and rotors replaced, I wasn’t entirely satisfied with how the brakes felt. I brought it up with the owner, who took the time to talk with me in detail, explain the possible causes, and ultimately offered to replace the pads with a different compound—at no extra charge.
That level of care, transparency, and commitment to customer satisfaction is what great service should look like in America. It’s rare to find a place that stands behind its work like this. Highly recommend this shop—it’s truly a hidden gem.
Earlier this year I brought my wife’s 2015 Jeep Wrangler to Elmwood Certified Auto Service for repair. It was the first time I had been there. I had selected Elmwood Certified Auto Service based on the great reviews I read. I was looking for a non-dealer service that was highly skilled, honest, with fair pricing. I was literally amazed that I had found exactly what I was looking for, I didn’t think it could exist. I was tired of dealer service centers that would upcharge and sell everything they could. The dealer bills were astronomical each time I went in for service. I had enough. Al and his team were extremely helpful, friendly and would spend time explaining to me what was needed. All factory OEM parts used, and very prompt.
I was so impressed I brought my 2018 Audi A6 in for repair 2 weeks later. Same exact incredible experience! I will be bringing my son’s car in there also. I have no problems recommending Elmwood Certified Auto Service. They deserve to thrive.

In the years that I've been going there, Elmwood Certified Auto Service has provided first class, professional, honest service to me for my older vehicles. Al keeps them running. And Al, with his friendly staff, keeps at it until the problem is fixed, while limiting extra non-related work, other than providing recommendations that will prevent issues later on.
Very happy with my experiences at this shop, which included an oil leak repair and an exhaust repair for my 2016 BMW. Al is fast and up front about repair options. Payment is easy and your vehicle can be picked up after hours.

My mother recently went to a meineke and, as they often do with women, they scared her with a bunch of pictures of axles and rust and things. They basically made it seem like the car was a ticking time bomb. I don't know anything about cars so I came here and showed Al the pictures.
Very straightforwardly, he told me it doesn't look like anything wrong and if you don't feel like there's any issue you should just drive it home. I was really happy at his honesty and the fact that he wasn't trying to get one over on me but just to be safe I had him inspect it.
He said nothings wrong at all and he was really disappointed at the practices of other places like the one my mom went to. He seemed genuinely upset that they gave mechanics a bad name.
Anyway, long story short, go here if you want an honest diagnosis of what is or isn't wrong with your car.
Well, Elmwood Certified Auto Service has done it once again!!! I took my car in for engine problems expecting the worst. The next day I braced myself for the bad news of having a major problem with it and to my pleasant surprise it was a couple of coils which came to under $300 for a VW. I know if I'd had gone elsewhere something different would have been wrong and I would have probably shelled out 1k-1.5k. Elmwood is as honest as they come and Al is a joy to work with - very competent. Try them for your next repair need.

It can be nerve wrecking searching for a mechanic in hopes you find someone who is honest. Thankfully, I have found that with this shop. I have been here twice now, and I have received nothing but professionalism and complete honesty, even if it was things I did not want to hear. Even when some repairs are out of my budget, I’m still given great advice on how to go from there. So so thankful!

I found my auto repair shop! I have always found it challenging to find an auto repair shop that I could trust would be honest with me, do a great job, and not try to upsell me every step of the way. Well I got there on a emergency basis after visiting 4 other places, which could not just give me a price ...On a new muffler. Mine was hanging. I got to Elmwood Certified Auto and Dennis took care of me right away gave me the price and breakdown of service and even printed it out. The price was reasonable and I they took care of it right away. THEY were excelent, professional, and honest. I already had the breakdown to the price that I had researched and it was matched to even the Labor. I highly recommend this Place. You can't find honest people anymore so this is the place to go.

They have a convenient night time drop off service available in a video monitored location. They are clean and professional every step of the way. I recommend them to all my friends and family and you know how family can be if you don’t get it right. I've been going there for 20 years. I give Elmwood Auto 5 stars.
I have been coming here for years. Dennis was the owner before, but now Al have taken over the place. They are always professional, courteous, and honest. They communicate to you about work before they do it and their prices are reasonable. More importantly, they provide quality work. I can honestly say that I have not met a more honest, upfront, and truly customer focused repair center and people than I found with Elmwood Certified. Both Randy and Albert were honest and transparent, but as importantly the repairs made on my 1998 E320 were perfectly done and now the car runs like it was brand new. I will not take my cars anywhere else now.

I've been using Dennis and his team for several years now on 4 different cars (2 newer, 2 older). Tires, a transmission, brakes, an annoying noise, fixing an emission-related issue in order to pass inspection - literally have been through it all. I found them through a website and I'm so happy that I did.

My car wouldn't start at all, wanted to try a new mechanic that was nearby work and home. So I went ahead and had my car towed here and from the moment I stepped into the shop they were attentive, helpful and informative. They even offered to drop me off to work (since it was nearby) while they worked on the car. Service was incredibly fast, after dropping off the car in the morning it was ready by lunch time! I had them also check for any other potential issues with the car, which they did but did not force or guilt me into having it done. I would definitely come again and recommend them to anyone with car troubles.
Just had my porsche serviced by Dennis and his crew Fantastic work My car has not run this smooth and handle so effortlessly since I bought it. He changed all my tires and balanced them and did a complete check up as my car is 10 yrs old. He is the most honest and respective and thorough mechanic i have encountered and I thank Diane who told me about him. I will be referring my friends to him as well if they need any auto care needs. This is probably the only place I would trust with my car. I started coming here a little over a year ago when I got my car in 2016 by my dad’s recommendation who’s been going here for years, and I can honestly say that I’ve always had a positive experience since then. Dennis and his team always do an amazing job in whatever service I need while maintaining the same level of quality and efficiency throughout. They’ve always been accommodating to my schedule, especially if I had to stop in early in the morning before going to work or if I had a busy schedule. What I admire the most about this place is the transparency Dennis and his team have. Whenever I go to any other car service center or dealership for a certain service (check engine light, recall, general concern, etc.) they’d always tell me that something’s wrong with my car and then some more and that it needed to be fixed immediately via the most expensive service that they offer. Dennis always responds to my concerns honestly and thoroughly whenever completing and reviewing a service, even when I have specific questions or concerns. He is extremely straightforward and always gives me great recommendations in taking care of my car. I can definitely attest that he and his team are here for honest, quality service for your car and not to make as much money off of you each time you visit. If you need to go to a place for any sort of auto service, this is the first place I’d recommend without a doubt.

I strongly believe a great mechanic is hard to find. Since I was 18 I've had a car and every time I had a problem I always went to a different mechanic .. Now, I've met the best mechanic and I will continue to come. Great customer service by all employees and I felt like I can trust them with my car. Very clean waiting area and the bathroom is amazing. I can spend all day here.. I highly recommend to all my family and friends. Stop wasting your time and money on mechanics who just fix your problem and mess another thing up..
