Could not find a better shop in town, I've never had a negative experience here in the 20 plus years I've been taking vehicles to them.
They've always been %100 honest which is a huge deal to me as I had worked at a few other auto shops before I got into HVAC and they all had greed driven practices ; I've never seen this at Charlie's
That's why I never hesitate to refer my friend's and family to them, it feels good knowing who ever I send there way is going to be taken care of and not ripped off
If I had any complaints I'd like to place them here, but honestly I can't come up with even one
Really like this place, it's like an old fashioned garage (but w/modern knowledge to fix any vehicle) that my dad used to take me to where a spoken word is a promise. Kenny, behind the counter, may appear a little gruff at 1st, but he has a dry sense of humor and excellent auto knowledge. This place is not fancy, but if you want plain speaking and a good price, go here. I'll be back.

I’m a small business owner and I hate giving ppl bad reviews . After all the terrible experiences I’ve had with them . I feel compelled to advise everyone who value their vehicle and money . Please go somewhere else especially if it’s related to anything under the hood . Both times and 2 separate trucks that I’ve taken there to get stuff fixed . I end up needing a motor afterwards . This last one took the cake . I took it in to get a radiator fixed . The didn’t fix it right and it ran hot and blown a head gasket . They sent it to the machine shop. When I got it back my check engine light kept coming on . They said it was the oil pump . I kept have that same problem repeatedly so I took it to the dealer . $5,000 later from the dealership. It’s in need of a rebuild again . I have a 1yr warranty with Charlie’s and I refuse to take it to them because they are NOT DEPENDABLE . Pls stay away from this place .
I’m brand new with this guy, but I’m amazed at their sincerity and the quality of their work. They actually really get the job done right. And they tell you how to maintain the vehicle so that you don’t have to have it repaired again or too soon. My last mechanics didn’t do that so I kept wearing out the same parts over and over again. This guy is actually teaching me how to take care of my truck.. starting to feel very comfortable with them. Since I don’t trust anybody, that’s pretty darn good.

Took my gmc canyon here to get my A/C fixed . Was on my way to work and I work outside in this Vegas heat so yall know how hot it's been this summer so just imagine black truck no A/C it's basically sitting in a oven at 400° . It became unbearable. CHARLIE AT charlies Auto is where you need to go. He's awesome and absolutely won't mess your vehicle up like the rest of these shops do just to get you to come back to them. A real good dude
The guy actually listens to you and respects you . He brought my car back to life after nearly a year of searching for a mechanic confident enough to take on a wrecked engine like mine. Im talking major repairs not a routine maintnance servie job , my car had suffered several fatal engine organ failures and was on its way to its final resting place at the junkyard. But thank god the mechanical surgeons at charlies garage performed a miracle and gave my vehicle a second chance at life .
Not to be trusted. I had an appointment to do a compression check on my engine. A test that any professional shop can do in under 30 minutes. I called 4 hours later to get an update. I was blankly told they hadn't done anything yet and were "getting started now". An hour later I showed up in person to see what was happening. The car was not being worked on and had not even moved from where I left it at 8 am in the morning. I asked for my keys.
I’m from out of state Minnesota, I noticed that my car wasn’t acting correctly, so i was recommended to this shop and talk about going above and beyond.
Now days it’s very hard to find an honest mechanic shop to trust in this untrustworthy world. A shop like this is what you hope to have found when you’re at a mechanic shop because you’re at their mercy, but these guys are not only friendly but honest and very fair on their pricing and their customer service/care, I would highly recommend this shop to everyone. Took my van in to get the rear brakes and rotors done, $700. Got my van back the same day and the check engine light started blinking and my van starts shuttering very hard and won’t go over 45 on my way home. Called this guy and he told me to bring it back the next day and he’d look at it. Brought it back the next day and he said he’d look at it but it’d cost $130 just to look at it. I told him my van didn’t have any engine problems when I brought it in and he told me about a story about how one time he took his truck to a mechanic and the transmission dropped the same day, “sometimes that happens”. I took my van up the road to autozone and they plugged my van into their computer and said it needed spark plugs. I bought spark plugs brought them back here to get installed and he charged me $170 for the installation of spark plugs. My van still still won’t go over 45 and shutters very badly at times. I took my van in for the rear brakes, now I’m down $1000, my van doesn’t run right, there’s exhaust leaking into the cab and my doors randomly lock and unlock while I drive.
Summary: I wouldn’t recommend this shop to anyone because they obviously aren’t the best mechanics and when they screw up they’re going to try and milk more money out of you instead of taking accountability and fixing their own mistakes.
We had a leaking oil pan gasket. Stopped in late afternoon and Kenny said to be there at 7:50 the next morning. We returned and they were finished by 9:30. Excellent turn-around time and nice to deal with. Saved us as we were travelling through and needed to move on.
We were on vacation in Vegas, and our truck broke down as we were headed home. I was referred to Charlie’s Auto Service by another transmission shop that wasn’t able to help us. I called Charlie at 2 p.m. and explained our situation. He told us to come on over, put a rush on our parts, and fixed the problem to get us back on the road before he closed up his shop. We couldn’t be more grateful for his honesty with our repairs and his willingness to do it for us the right way-right away. If you live in Vegas or are ever stuck like we were, call Charlie! Amazing and honest service!
Great service provided! I went in to adjust my suspension and they took care of me! Definitely coming back for future services!

Got my breaks and rotors replaced along with an oil change.. took a little long but definitely satisfied with their services. Bought them breakfast as well as they are working hard during this pandemic. I'll be back for sure!

Great shop. Known them for years. I can fix my own car but these guys are only people I'd let fix my car. Sammy one of the most honest mechanics I've known. Trust he will only give you the truth on repairs. And they work with you.
They were friendly, & professional. I called, asked them about checking for a exhaust leak & catalytic converter issues, Charlie listened to my issues, told me he'd check it out for free & got me right in. Diagnosed car very quickly , gave me a price quote for parts & labor , which was very affordable & had my car up on lift, and fixed in less than 90 mins.
Very satisfied with the services there!
I had called at 2:30 or so Friday afternoon because my clutch went out. They were able to pick it up, give me a quote and a timeframe of when it would be ready. The next Monday I was able to drive it home, running better than ever. Super friendly people there, will go back if I ever need a mechanic
My sister was being manipulated that her valve cover gasket leak on her car was a lot worse than it was and that it needed service immediately at a local Firestone Complete Auto Care.
I looked on google and called Charlie's (as their rating was great on google) to see if they could fix her vehicle and to get a 2nd opinion on the leak. Kenny told me my sister could just bring the car in and he would just let her know if it would make it back to Portland or if it was indeed a "major immediate" repair.
My sister stopped by and in 5 minutes the crew at Charlie's told her that her oil leak was minor and that she could monitor the oil while driving back to Portland and that she could take care of the leak when back home. They also checked up on her other car fluids free of charge.
I am impressed by their honesty & integrity to inspect the car, not knowing if they would be getting any "business." It is rare these days for auto repair shops to have the character that these guys have. If I am in Vegas, I will definitely bring my vehicle here! Thanks!
Best deals in Las Vegas I have used this mechanic twice now and both times I have been extremely satisfied. Pepboys wanted to charge almost $400 for a tune up when i had all the parts and a 5 hour wait. Charlies did it for $130 and half the time. No run arounds, great customer service with quite a bit of humor. I highly recommend.
This shop is honestly the place to go. Been in Las Vegas for 4 years and I have had the hardest time finding an honest mechanic. He went over all my options and found a used part that saved me about $1,000. They have definitely earned my business and I will definitely recommend them.
Honestly this is the best auto shop I have been to in Las Vegas everybody from Sammie the receptionist and the mechanics we pleasant. I had to get my catalyst converter replaced. Every where else told me 250 to 300 just for the labor Sammie quoted me 130 if I got the part I couldn’t be anymore satisfied. Thank you guys so much appreciate all that you do. And for being fare oh and my side rear view mirror was broke Sammie fixed it no problem.
I had an awesome experience at Charlie's. I lost a transmission in Overton on a road trip. I barely made it to Vegas. I spent nearly a whole day calling people before I got an honest and fair price from this garage. Everyone gave me a 4 to 5 day turn around time. This place told me 1 to 2 days. I got my truck back in a day and a half! Thank you!
Best place in Las Vegas to bring your vehicle. The staff is polite and explains in detail everything they need to do, and also when you pay you get a complete print out of all the work done and any warranties. Sam and his wife are beyond wonderful people, john and the other shop boys make you feel important and not just another number in line. I give this shop all the credit they deserve because they are honest and hard working. thanks guys.
5 stars for my first visit here. I work on one of my cars and needed a lower ball joint pressed out/in. So I brought the parts that I removed from my car along with the parts I needed put in. Sammy quoted me a very fair price. An hour later I picked up my parts, complete and done perfectly. I'm very Leary of car shops and for good reason. I will have my vehicles serviced here for oil and such and will post again. Good customer service and courtesy was my experience. I would add the shop came recommended by a friend. So far so good.
Been coming here for years, I dont bring any of my vehicles anywhere else but to Charlies. All my repairs done here were always sucessful and done in a timely manner. Now at days It's hard to find a mechanic shop that is honest and won't overcharge when looking at your vehicle. Very professional, very friendly and well experienced in automotive knowledge and most important very, very fair in price. Highly, highly recommend to everyone looking for good friendly service and the best mechanics. 10 stars all across!!
This auto mechanic place is awesome!!!! The People are really friendly and understanding...... Came in from outta town and my AC had stopped working.... me being from Colorado and coming into Las Vegas weather YES!!!! AC is a necessity and a must need in this Las Vegas heat.....very very satisfied with the performance of this crew! I don't write many reviews, but felt I really needed to with this place. Our car's alternator died outside of Vegas. Charlie’s got me in that morning and had the entire job done in like two hours! The owner even lent me his car to drive back to the casino hotel until the job was done. Outstanding service, very impressed! Thanks Charlie’s!
