The best garbage hauler I've had. I owned a bunch of rentals and I've had several haulers including the Green Mafia and others like them. Walters has good customer service and they don't nickel and dime you. Great service

Had a problem Getting my recycling container picked app due to a substitute driver and then had problems in the following week. But then the manager got involved, and he took care of business for me. And got my container picked up and I'm very proud of the way he handled the situation. Thank you, manager, and thank you, Walters.

In my humble opinion Walter's Recycling is the absolute best recycling service in our area. Customer service is great, didn't get my can down to the curb on time and was able to wave down the driver to ask if he could stop and empty my can. Driver was very pleasant and said had he seen the can in my drive he would have stopped and walked up to get it. Could not ask for more! If you're looking for a recycling company in the areas serviced by Walter's they should absolutely be your top consideration. Thanks!

If you had told me I’d be leaving a genuinely positive review for a recycling and refuse company, I would have had questions. And yet — here we are. Walter’s Recycling & Refuse Inc. runs with the kind of efficiency, professionalism, and quiet confidence that most companies aspire to but rarely achieve. Pickups happen when they’re supposed to. Communication is clear. Problems, when they arise, are handled quickly and without drama — which, frankly, already puts them in the top tier of any service industry. What really stands out, though, is that they somehow manage to make an unglamorous job feel… well-run. There’s no chaos, no finger-pointing, no mystery as to what’s happening or when. It’s refreshingly straightforward. You schedule. They show up. Things disappear. Life improves. The team is courteous, reliable, and clearly knows their stuff. It’s obvious this is a company that values doing things right — not just once, but consistently. And consistency, especially in this line of work, is everything. In short: they take trash seriously, which means you don’t have to. And that is a beautiful thing. Highly recommend.

Walter’s has always been there for me when I needed to make changes for size of my trash bin or needed more yard waste carts. They’ve been consistently reliable over the years with their great service!

We recently moved into a new house on Osprey in North Oaks and Walters was the HOA chosen waste pick up company. I had never used them before and I have been super impressed with their service. For example I forgot put my trash out on time this morning but was able to flag them down later and they did two 3 point turns to come back and empty the can. Awesome service guys!!! Thank you.

The employee that runs the recycling route for my neighborhood in Lexington is top notch. Today he came earlier then usual. I was putting my kid in the truck for daycare and hadn't brought recycling out yet. He stopped, waited, and even hopped out to give me a hand and chat for a sec. letting me know he'll be coming earlier in the day now. Good dude, great service.

Our trash and yard waste is picked up on time and there are never issues with spills or half emptied containers. The price is very good and customer service is excellent.

They had my account set up to not receive emails and paperless settings. No notification until the bill is past due and trash isn’t picked up. Not poor customer service but NO customer service and right before the holiday. I will find a service that will send me a bill before they cancel me.

Love Walters! We have our trash behind a locked gate and they know the code and get the bins out and return them!!!! Great old school customer service, they even sent us tickets to a Saints game once!

I switched to Walter’s for a better price. I got that and better service as a bonus. Their yard waste collection has saved me more than a dozen trips to the compost site. I like being able to speak with a real person when I need to. Great local company!

Priced checked for garbage when we bought our home 2 years ago. Walters was the cheapest. I didn't think about other factors at the time. One time we got missed and my son was having a party over the weekend. I called and they had someone come right over and empty it. Otherwise I wasn't too concerned. I've talked to customer service 1 other time and they are just so pleasant and kind. I'm very happy with Walter's!

A salesman came by and asked my husband if he wanted their service and my husband said that he'd think about it and then called yesterday (7/14/25) to definitively to say no thanks kindly even tbough he was not obligated to and never signed up for anything but they came out 7/15/25 morning and put a bin on our property anyway (almost woke my 11 month old by bringing a bin up by closer to his window instead of at the end of the driveway like normally trash services do) Now I am emailing them as this is written to come get their bin off our property and wouldn't switch to them if we ever did switch just because of their lack of regard (obviously) on what the customers are communicating to them. Update: I spoke with my husband since writing this and it seems the saleman/Walters employee gave him false information. What a scam this company is! It appears when he came out to our house a few weeks ago, the employee told my husband and (I quote) pointed to our garbage can -which is a 96 oz size and told him it would be HALF the price if we switched to them with our current garbage trash service bin size. Turns out that was COMPLETELY false as a 64 oz size was dropped off at our house (NOT SURE WHY) and turns out that he blatantly lied to my husband that the 64 oz wasn't even half our price we are currently paying with another trash service AND the garbage bin size in their 96 oz size we have was the EXACT same price as we are paying now so that wouldn't be worth it to switch, what the heck even....! My husband was informed by the same Walters employee that he wasn't signing up but would receive an email and could say "yes sign me up" or "no thanks." Looks like that is false too. What a nightmare. To make matters worse when my husband called them today 7/15/25 to ask why the heck we recieved a bin dropped off at our house that they wouldn't come until NEXT Tuesday. A whole week with their bin taking up room and sitting on our property which they didnt have our permission to be on it in the 1st place, never gave them that permission. They better come get it asap or I WILL put else where and dump it somewhere...anywhere else than on our property because we shouldn't have had that happen in the 1st place.

Had a young fella hover-board up to me while I was in my front yard. I typically don't like solicitors bothering me when I'm at home. But the whole hover-board thing intrigued me. Ethan was a very pleasant young man and made a great sales pitch, one I just couldn't pass up. I told him I'd think about it, and asked him to come back. I mean, I really DIDN'T have to think about it, but you never make decisions like that on the spot. So eventually I sign up and I'm awaiting cart delivery. Well, Google won't let me add a separate review for Laura, the best Customer Service Agent on the planet. I had to push my service start date back until Aug 1st. The conversation I had with Laura was like chatting with an old friend. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and had the cutest Minnesotan accent. She answered all my questions thoroughly, even went above and beyond to figure out taxes and fees (sorry for making you do math). If Ethan and Laura are examples of the type of employees Walter's hires then I am very glad I made the switch.

We have ALWAYS appreciated the service we have received from Walter’s - been loyal customers for 14 years! And while some of our neighbors have tried other refuse services over the years, they have all since signed up for Walter's. Walter’s reliability and customer service is top notch … plus I love that they are a local and family-owned/operated company!

We’ve been with Walter’s about 3 years now and I can honestly say they’re the most reliable service we’ve ever had. We also appreciate being able to talk to a live and local customer service rep if we ever need to. I can see why they’ve been voted Minnesota’s best the last 4 years in a row.

Review Update: After posting this review they reached out right away to try to correct the issue. They offered a one time discount (1 month free) and would be speaking with their driver. 2 weeks later we had the same issue but after that we’ve had great service!! No more blocked driveway or dumped bins, Yay! HOWEVER my concern over the increased costs was never addressed and for that reason I am giving 4 stars. Original post: We moved to the area in 2018 and have been with Walter’s since then. At the beginning their service was great but not so much anymore… our prices have doubled and I don’t know what is going on with our recycling pick up!?? At first it was dropping it down wherever they felt like, then it was literally in the middle of our driveway over and over but now just yesterday they didn’t even get it emptied, dropped it to the ground and spilled recycling all over the lawn!! I drove down our road and everyone’s recycling bins were a mess! Please please please do something about your recycling driver, this has been going on for awhile and only getting worse.
