What clients say about Pine River in Romulus (MI)

Could not find access to fish anywhere on this river. If u don't have a kayak or boat ur screwed. Online says one of the best rivers to trout fish. Seems like it's all for tourists not locals. I have a park pass and fishing license and I got told I need another pass for dnr access off the pine river!! I will not be returning. If u plan on fishing this river b prepared to be harassed and extorted

I went up to ride dirt bikes , saw the river so the dog and I walked to the river from our campsite and had the BEST time.

Me and my friends rode this river the other week and had an absolute blast. It’s very windy with dozens and dozens of turns requiring you to paddle nearly the whole time definitely not a lazy river but makes so for a fun adventure. The sand hill is super cool too with a great view

A total blast in the spring. It can be fast so you should know what your doing. We camped at end of day 1 at one of the many camping spots along the way. The canoe company let's us drop off ther then took us to where we put in.

This is the best river not good for beginners but for experience kayakers and canoers you will have so much fun here

In the Summer of 1982, I was an Exchange Counsellor from Melbourne, Australia at Storer Camps, Jackson MI. As part of a canoeing adventure, I drove a group of teenage Campers and Counsellors in a bus with a Canoe trailer to Pine River. The scenery was magic. Our community duty was to collect rubbish along the river. We spent a few wonderful days enjoying lots of laughs and getting drenched and the rubbish we collected was exchanged for hamburgers at a McDonald’s on our way back to camp. The experience remains a favourite highlight and memory of my time in this beautiful area of NW Michigan, USA.

I grew up on this river, you learn to respect her. Or 40 acre land was fortunately horseshoed by it. Not at all polluted as another reviewer stated. Funny thing about her is one length you'll be hanging on for dear life, another.... you're carrying your kayak (not far mind you). I'm going up there June 4-6 2021 to bushcraft Central MI on the pine, an updated review will follow.

One of my favorite rivers to canoe...this is the Pine River that used to be called the South Branch of the Manistee. This is not the Pine River that runs through Midland, MI so the reviewer that stated this was a heavily polluted river was confused. Fun rapids and majestic views. (Certain sections not for beginners)

One of the most polluted rivers in the US. Three eyed fish have been found here. Beautiful views, but don't take a dip.

Stunning views. Perfect for your kayaking adventure. Definitely a must see. Well worth the drive time.

We got in at Peterson Bridge and out at low bridge. I've been kayaking in Michigan for 8yrs all seasons and this is by far the most beautiful river in Michigan. I climbed the dune which my drone says is about 200ft up and a beautiful view. Definitely try to take your time. It takes 3hrs if you don't stop. There are bathrooms at Peterson bridge and low bridge. $5 to park for the day at both locations and it cost us $10 to get the permit for the 2 of us to kayak the pine. Well worth it!

Nothing like having a drink, floating down this river, meeting new people and soaking up the sun. An annual tradition with our family, and one that will never stop disappointing!

Great views! If you have the time to stop by and take in the nature views, I would definitely recommend!

I’m far too inexperienced to ever kayak the Pine River because it is fast, but it is beautiful.

It is beautiful. Some very deep holes, be careful.. Water shoes are a plus. The river IS Cold even in July. The bottom of the canoe is cold too. Lots of trout, browns, and rainbows.

Best fun play river in MI. Lots of curves and intermittent class I-II rapids. Beautiful scenery. You dont float the Pine, you paddle the Pine. I dont care if you can swim, be smart - wear your pfd!
