This place is amazing all around. The work is phenomenal and the workers themselves are just as good! Including Jessica! I recommend this shop to everyone and always will!
These guys are quick, honest and effective. I told them I needed new brakes, a brake fluid exchange and an alignment, but since I'm field service I would need my car back same day. It was no problem for them and my car feels like its brand new again. I'll be bringing both of my vehicles here from now on!
EDIT: Had more work performed 6/2025 and nothing has changed here. The guys are still up front and honest, professional and timely with repairs.
This place is completely amazing. Another place told me it would wait a week, as it must be mechanic discretion, and no one's in a hurry to do 2009 brake lines for a Rover.
Several years ago, I opened Care credit through synchronicity, and had 0% for 12 months, and a card that was just waiting was zero balance on it. It. I was able to be seen, corrected the issue, and back on the road within 2 days. This is my sole go-to for any and all repairs moving forward. A++
Had my engine replaced 1 year ago exactly.
The engine has a major oil leak because of the poor installation which cost me 11k. This engine shouldn't have issues after only 1 year and I cannot express enough how dissatisfied I am with this garage.
Edit: The reason I didn't call was because of how poorly I was treated before. Not only did the manager lie to me about my truck and why it wasn't ready, I was paid off and after coming back in because there was an issue, I was charged an additional $400 and was told they'd be calling the police if I didn't pay.

I took my truck in today to have my radiator replaced. I cannot tell you how impressed I am with this place. Ryan’s auto repair in Livonia, is definitely my go to place from now on. John at the front desk was helpful from the beginning to the end. I took my Truck in at 10 AM they called and confirmed at 12 that it was indeed my radiator and at 3 PM. He called and said it was done!! I can honestly say that has never happened to me or anybody in my family. The efficiency and professionalism of this company is really second to none. They stood by their quote and they didn’t try and sell me anything else! Take your auto needs to Ryan ‘s, they will not disappoint!!!

I was having trouble with the dealership getting my extended warranty company to replace my transmission, I brought my van down to Jon and he got the approval for a new transmission in no time. I've had to get a few vehicle inspections for Uber and Pete took care of me for those. He pointed out a few things that I might need to keep an eye on but didn't try to scare me into getting the work done Right now. Very honest and good price on everything I've had done with them so far.
We found this auto repair shop to be very helpful, timely and reasonable for what we needed. Is one of the few shops we searched for that was able to service the R1234YF A/C system in our Jeep Grand Cherokee. The person who answered the phone and at the counter was really pleasant and easy to talk to. I highly recommend this repair location.
Its started off good...but after a week it went to a pretty bad communication situation here. I had to call multiple times to find out what's going on with my car. My car sat for weeks before I finally got a diagnosis on my issue. I bought a new part, and another month went by with no communication. I got fed up and just took my car back. When I arrived the new part was still in its packaging. They never even tried to install it to see if it remedied the issue. Additionally, when you have to ask more than 2x about a quote on additional services...in my book juat means they didnt want to do it. In hindsight, they admitted they were overwhelmed with work, but I still don't see why I had to basically bug them for updates...a simple courtesy call and expected date of service would have been nice. I could have taken my car somewhere else for the essential work and brought it back for the issue I dropped it off for. What's even more disheartening is I found the issue for the short, I'm surprised trained individuals didn't catch it in the very beginning. Long story short, I think they truly didn't have the time (3 months) or just didn't want to work on my issue. . Least my only expense was 3 months of unessesary paid parking.
**Ryan's Auto Repair did a TERRIBLE job.**
They diagnosed and 'repaired' my car's problem the first time and charged a reasonable fee. No big deal. Few days later, realized the problem hadn't been resolved. Then they 'repaired' it again after it wasn't fixed the first time and charged me an additional $300 on top of the original cost. Then about 4 days later I had to take it back yet a third time to have it 'repaired' because yet again the initial problem remained.
Peter and John then tried to defend their shotty work on the phone while I demanded the $300 back. I've been a car owner for 25 years and never have dealt with such a Mickey Mouse operation.
Can I give it Zero stars?
This place is one of a kind! They have been treating our family for years, the manager - Jonathan is very pleasant with adjustment of costs and can practically fix anything! Loyal mom and pop shop that we’ll be with for years to come!
The best place around. I had to get multiple things fixed on my car this summer and they were able to quickly diagnose the issues and get it fixed in a timely manner. The customer service is top notch, Jon and Peter make you feel like family/friend. They are upfront and honest and extremely knowledgeable so I always feel like my car is in good hands with them. I highly recommend taking your car here for any repairs.

Ryan’s has worked on several of my vehicles as well as so many friends and family. Jonathan has always done great work and suggested what needs fixed now. What can wait. Prices for cheap parts but also for high quality parts which will last much longer.

John at the counter is a smooth talker. He will talk you into jobs you really don't need done. I spent a lot of money and time that I didn't need to. After the first trip, they wanted me to make an appointment for the following week. I did so. Dropped off the car and had to get a rental from enterprise. Ryan's had my car for two days. John calls me, and wants me to pick up my car. He then tells me that they haven't had a chance to diagnose it because they been busy. After that he says that they won't be able to get back to the car until he comes back from vacation. So I spent $90 on a rental for nothing. That day I pick up the car, and I pointed out some issues where I wasn't happy with the job they did. And he says a comment to make it sound like they are doing me a favor. Then never returned my call to complete the job. After spending $700, I went down the street to Kurks auto care. They gave me a FREE loaner car, but couldn't determine the issue either. Then honestly said that the noise issue will have to get worse before they can figure out what the problem was. And that only cost me $50. I'll never be back to Ryan's nor recommend them.
Fantastic service, knowledgeable staff, fair pricing, and great turnover time. Slightly difficult to see from the road; signage could be better. Overall, a really great independent auto service shop. I will definitely be using Ryan's Auto Repair for all future work on my FJ Cruiser. Thanks John, for your above and beyond service!
I don't write many reviews for businesses, but I feel obligated when I have an experience this pleasurable -- even surrounding the circumstances that I had to repair my car after a fender bender. I got multiple quotes around the Livonia area (many collision shops to visit), and Ryan's auto repair came back with an estimate half that of the next best I received. Soon after I agreed to go with their services, we coordinated a time to drop off & pick up the vehicle. Everything went smoothly, and my car was finished exactly when they told me. The quality of work is also highly recommended, as now you cannot even tell the area of my bumper had been damaged. Jon was great at updating me on the progress and completing the job as I expected. There's no need to even try other shops, head over to Ryan's for any auto repair needs!

After about 25 years of being ripped off, getting mediocre work done by inferior techs, and generally being disappointed when having to have a vehicle serviced, it's nice to know that I'll never have to worry about that again - I won't take any of my vehicles anywhere else.
I absolutely love this shop! I don't trust many people with my car, but I definitely trust Ryan's. My car hit a huge pot hole recently and caused a lot of damage, but the awesome mechanic at the Plymouth rd location made the whole experience not a nightmare! I've always brought my car to them for oil changes, but they definitely have my business again if I have a bigger issue. So thankful to be able to take my car in and not feel like I'm being ripped off. :)
I brought my car to Ryan's Auto 2 weeks ago. When I walked in the door I was greeted by a very nice and polite man. I told him I had a Volkswagon Beetle and it broke down on the side of the road, He asked me some questions and almost Immediately knew that it was the timing belt. He had my car towed directly over to the shop and it was ready for me to pick up in just 2 days! I was very happy with the service I got there and the prices. The quality of the work and the prices are better than anything I have ever seen in the area. I saved a lot of money and time going to Ryan's and I just love the staff there. Everyone is nice and they really know what they are doing there, very professional. Needless to say I will be going there from now on for all repairs on my car.I also recommend them to all of my friends and family members. I would highly recommend them if you are looking for fast, friendly service and good prices! Jon is the best!
