They take care of me like I'm a daughter there. Every time I go in, the owner greets me with a smile and teaches me how to make the repairs I need on my own. Great prices, fast service, expert help behind the counter.

Unfortunately, this is the best kept secret and shouldn't be. Paul is very knowledgeable, helpful, and has a concern for his customers. His prices are very competitive, but most importantly he will provide great coaching and counsel. I don't want to put substandard parts on my vehicles so that I will have to repeat the work in another year or two. I have never had Paul try to up-sell me, but willing to share what works and what doesn't is very important to me. I have been a customer for over 30+ years for good reasons. This is a great independent auto parts store. Paul the owner is fantastic, very knowledgeable and helpful. His prices are reasonable, and he's a nice guy who provides excellent customer service. After discovering New-5 Auto Parts I won't go anywhere else.
I have been going to New-5 Auto parts for over thirty years. Paul sells good quality parts at a reasonable price. For example, my wife took her car to the dealer for an oil change. She needed a new air filter which they offered to sell her for 39.95. I went to Paul and the same filter was 12.95.
I had to install it myself, but had I not known how, Paul would have done a tutorial. Paul is extremely knowledgable and asks all the right questions to make sure his customers get the right part for their car and situation--sometimes a more expensive option is a good choice if the customer plans to keep a car for a long time, but sometimes an option is only more expensive because it is heavily advertised. Paul knows the difference. He will replace windshield wipers and check a battery to see if it will still hold a charge. Paul does all this with a smile and good humor. I even purchase items like windshield washer and anti-freeze from New-5. I am sure they are cheaper at large discount stores, but it is worth the small difference in price to insure that Paul is there when I need a part or advice that the other stores can't or won't provide. If you live in, or drive through, the Livonia area, there is no better option for auto parts or advice than New-5 Auto.

This is the best Auto parts store not only in Livonia probably in the state of Michigan. Paul the owner bends over backwards for his customers. He keeps his prices down and will not sell you something just to sell it like allot of other auto parts stores. I had a battery on my truck i thought was bad. Paul checked it out cleaned the terminals and the battery is still working and that was 2 years ago. When ever i bring my son in to New-5 Auto with me Paul is always giving him stickers. If you have any questions about your car Paul will do his best to help you. He has even taken and done ride a long's with me to help me figure problems out. This store provides a great deal to the community in many ways.

I've been shopping at New 5 for about 15 years. As long as you can stand Paul's sense of humor you won't find better customer service. This is a true local store with an actual interest in giving their customers personal service with a smile. If they don't stock it they'll get it for you fast. Paul routinely lends tools to my father with no questions asked. If you have a question Paul has the answer even if it means costing him a sale. Even if I find a better price I won't buy parts anywhere else.

And if you need help, Paul will help you -- and he is very good -- he knows how to do a lot of things. Oh, and his prices are very reasonable, even low. Was a little hesitant going to new-5 auto at first but I found their prices are cheaper or the same as the big auto part stores. Plus Paul is so knowledgeable about anything you may need to know about your vehicle. He will take the time and explain to you what you need to do, even if you call him on the phone while your working on you vehicle. I never go anywhere else now. They have a huge selection of parts and if he doesn't have it, he'll get it to you soon!

How many chain auto parts stores do I pass driving here from Ann Arbor? Not sure but I’m positive it’s worth it. Just call up Paul, tell him what you need and he’ll give you a fair price. More importantly, he knows when something won’t work so you don’t waste time.
Paul was helping another gentleman who had a large auto parts order by putting the wiper blades he'd bought into the wiper arms (I'd never before seen this level of service anywhere) but he did look up and acknowledge me and the other man I had walked in with a huge smile.
When he'd completed that transaction he turned to the man, who was next in line. They had a friendly chat as the man only wanted to return several items that it turned out he didn't need.
Paul was able to recommend to me that I buy both a 15 and 20 amp fuse to hopefully correct my cigarette lighter problem (needed to charge our smart phones. For an .85 cent item this would definitely save me another whole trip and I appreciated it a lot. What a great guy. I love having this local Livonia auto parts store located right down the road from my house.
I had a simple repair required on my vehicle, but I was 5 weeks post surgery and unable to complete it. Paul came outside and climbed under my Jeep and fixed it for me. Awesome guy, great customer service. Great to see privately owned stores still around. Support small business.
I have only gone to New-5 Auto one time, but will always go back. For auto-parts, they are the most reasonable prices around, Paul (the owner) is an expert, and only gives honest advice. I know nothing about cars and feel very comfortable in the hands of Paul at New-5 Auto.

He gives excellent instructions that are very easy to apply to any range of repairs or improvements to your car. He has multiple times even come out into the parking lot as long as he didn't have another customer to deal with and help me work on my car right there outside of his store. A knowledgeable parts man is worth his weight in gold, and Paul is that guy. Turn brake rotors? Can do - in house! Windshield wiper refills? Got it, and will show you the right way to do it. Can't buy refills anymore at big box stores, but you can at New-5. Don't bother with auto parts websites; go to New-5 and support a local business, and experience great customer service!
