I was hesitant to use this company but I didn’t have a choice since it is who picked up my request for a tow through roadside assistance. Mike showed up and was so nice and helpful. He was so pleasant to deal with! I called the office before Mike arrived and the gentleman who answered was also very nice and helpful.
Ordered a tow truck through AAA at 12:45 eta was 2:40. The Lady at the front mouth is just so slick and bad attitude she clearly hates what she does.. i was calling trying to get a update on the tow and she just kept giving attitude and getting smart.anywho the tow truck didn’t arrive until 4:28 2 mins before place closed….. Then on top of that the driver left me after j requested a ride home with the tow truck driver.
Oh they terrible yall. Literally pulled up to the scene of an accident on a PUBLIC DETROIT OWNED STREET, IN FRONT OF POLICE, and said they wouldn’t tow the vehicle without a report. The report was not filed because it wasn’t needed and even without the expertise of 5 accidents myself in which I NEVER needed a POLICE REPORT NUMBER (namely because often times you get that, AFTER the car is towed, especially in Detroit, iykyk) even the triple a representative herself, said she’s never heard of this practice. Please don’t use them if not for an ABSOLUTE emergency (even still, you made need a backup) and be advised; the ONLY reason I gave them two stars, is because I’m assuming, Bobby is black. If not….here is my review.
I sat waiting in the heat for the company for three hrs. to tow my car. Then when the guy shows up. He starts driving towards the wrong car and my mom had to hunker down the horn of her car to get his attention. No apologies were given.
I had gotten a tow via my insurance - Geno was quick to hook up the vehicle and a delight the entire drive and drop off . Honestly this is the best tow experience I’ve ever had and I want to make sure he is recognized for the wonderful job he did! Thank you !
Ronny towed my vehicle for Progressive insurance. He was very professional and positive. Ronny and Bobby's Towing helped me out during a very difficult moment. I appreciate their courteous service. No complaints whatsoever, much better than others I've used locally

The worst Tow company ever. If your tow was sent to Bobby's by AAA call them and complain. Enough complaints and AAA will remove them from their provider list. They need to be removed.
The drivers name is Cliff, he calls himself Mr. Motown he was rude, and unprofessional. He said he doesn't know parking laws in Michigan.
Why is he employed to drive if he openly admits to not knowing any laws dealing with parking or driving.
The woman behind the counter was very kind to me. I told me all the things I needed to do before I was able to help my person get their car so they didn't lose it. I will ask them to help me tow it to the location whenever I get all the paperwork together.
The guy that works in there is so rude and condescending. The woman had told me to get anything that proves that its my car because I couldnt go back and get my title from the car and I brought the papers I got from the dealership from when I bought it. The guy said that he couldn’t accept paper work from 2 years ago even though it had my information and car information on there and the woman never specified that the paperwork had to be recent. They make it their goal to make everyones lives so difficult. I had to make an appointment for the SOS and thats not for another 2 weeks. Meaning this whole time my car is racking up charges. I never got into any kind of trouble and my car didnt get impounded. I just got into a life threatening car accident and this is how Im getting treated for just trying to recover my stuff back.
After reading all the reviews, I honestly thought this was going to be a disaster. Surprisingly, it wasn’t. The lady at the front was very sweet and helpful, which was a nice change from what I expected.
The only downside was when I went on Friday—I wasn’t able to get inside, even though they were open. There was no one around to assist or show me my vehicle, which was frustrating and the car was left on the Mud .
Overall, it wasn’t terrible, but there’s definitely room for improvement when it comes to communication and availability.
They really need to revamp their system and how they handle business and the information that they give people over the phone they need to be retrained at both locations Bobby's towing and the location where you have to go to pay another separate fee Oakland boulevard it's a major inconvenience for the people that's trying to help other people. If someone's vehicle was towed for any reason and they were unable to get transportation they would have to spend so much money to try to take care of their business to get their vehicle from a tow place it's not supposed to be that difficult it's ridiculous.
This is the worst towing company ever and the city of Detroit needs to look into them. The employees are so rude and they are a big money grab. They charge you to bring out your car even though you have just paid towing fees. They are the worst
Customer service here is terrible, I stood at the counter for 5 mins before being acknowledged. Once she decided to come to the counter she did say “hello, how are you?” Nothing. She said “I need your license and registration” very dry. Employees are rude and have No personality at all. They’re clearly miserable and hate their job. Especially the lady who took care of me. It was my first time and overall, I wouldn’t recommend a bike being towed to this facility. If I could rate zero stars I would.
Beware – Absolutely Horrible Service, Unprofessional, and Unsafe!
I rarely leave reviews, but after my recent experience with this towing company, I feel it is absolutely necessary to warn others to stay as far away as possible. If you're looking for a reliable, professional service that values your time and safety, DO NOT, and I repeat DO NOT use this company.
Unfortunately, I ended up using them through my car insurance agency, and I sincerely regret it. I found myself stuck on the service drive just at the entrance to I-75, in an extremely unsafe situation. I repeatedly communicated to them that I was in a dangerous spot, with heavy traffic and an immediate need for help. Rather than taking my safety seriously, the response I received was nothing short of dismissive and downright rude. I was treated like garbage by the dispatcher, given the runaround, and constantly told different, inconsistent timeframes for when the tow truck would arrive.
I waited a staggering 4 to 5 hours for them to show up. Yes, you read that correctly. I spent HOURS in a potentially life-threatening situation, and not once did I receive any sort of apology or acknowledgment of how absurd and dangerous this was. Every time I called to inquire about the status, I was told something different. "It'll be there in an hour." "Oh, maybe in another 30 minutes." It was the same line over and over again, with no real answers. They couldn’t even give me a clear ETA. No empathy. No sense of urgency. Absolutely nothing.
Let me make this crystal clear: This is not the level of service anyone should expect, especially when you're stranded in a hazardous area. The blatant lack of professionalism and accountability is appalling. A simple apology or some sort of real explanation would have gone a long way. But no, instead, I was treated like I was bothering them with my urgent situation.
The sad part is, I wasn't the only one. After seeing the terrible reviews (which I should have paid more attention to), I realized I'm not the first person to deal with this horrific service. Their 2-star rating should be enough of a red flag to warn anyone considering using them. If it were possible to leave ZERO stars, I would have. Their track record speaks for itself, and unfortunately, my experience was no different from the others.
To anyone even thinking about using this towing company, please take my advice: Stay far, far away. Do not put yourself through the frustration, disappointment, and possible danger that I did. There are countless other towing services out there that will treat you with respect and actually respond in a timely manner. This company is an absolute joke, and I’m honestly baffled that they are still in business.
In conclusion, my experience was an absolute nightmare from start to finish. Their lack of professionalism, empathy, and basic customer service has left a lasting bad impression, and I would never, ever trust them again in any situation. You can do better – I know I will in the future.
Bobby's Towing was prompt, even a wellness callback, friendly staff on phone, and the driver was knowledgeable and had a beautiful E-Series flatbed that had my wreck up in seconds - also, once up, got it from Detroit to Livonia in under 45 minutes.
Excellent company; highly recommended.
Money hungry!! This place will purposely make your battery die so they can get $35 for a boost , rather you have your own cables or not they will roll your window down I asked can how did my window get rolled down. Nobody knows…
This company lacks compassion, empathy, and professionalism. Their attitudes are unacceptable, and they exploit the community by charging exorbitant storage fees—even when they no longer have possession of your vehicle.
In February 2024, I attempted to recover items from a vehicle I totaled in 2021. I was told the storage fees amounted to $15,000. When I explained that I couldn’t afford this, I asked if I could retrieve my personal belongings from the vehicle. They said I could, but only if I signed a document agreeing to the $15,000 fee. My belongings included sentimental items belonging to my late husband, so I felt forced to sign.
After signing, I waited from 9 AM to 5 PM while staff repeatedly told me to stop calling them for updates. Near closing time, I returned inside, along with several other frustrated customers waiting in the cold, only to be told they couldn’t locate my vehicle. When I asked for the signed document back, the employee tore it up and claimed to have thrown it away, even demanding my copy back.
Now, months later, I’ve received a letter stating the vehicle was “retrieved” on July 31, 2024—something I know is impossible since it’s the same car I was told they couldn’t locate.
This company’s practices are unethical and unorganized, and they should not be allowed to continue operating under a city contract. Their lack of communication, poor customer service, and fraudulent practices are unacceptable. I hope immediate action is taken to hold them accountable.

Never used their service and I definitely never will on 75 going south and the tow truck driver turned bright lights on and blinded everyone behind him and was driving like a maniac. Very unprofessional
It was the worst thing I have ever experienced. Their staff is very frustrated or they are trained to be despotic and rude. I was simply looking for information to recover my vehicle that was stolen from my home, but they have kicked me out of the establishment as if I were a thief. The city should consider which companies they give contracts to. And it's nothing personal, I just don't know how my car got there, if it weren't like that I wouldn't even know them... Oh, and there's no point in calling you over and over again if someone prudent and knowledgeable doesn't answer.
They sent a truck out to my place of work and inflated my tire when my own air compressor would not. The transaction was seamless and I was able to make it to Goodyear tire shop (where I ended up having to buy a whole set of tires.) The tow truck driver was a consummate professional.
This company is horrible do not use them for your service. They are full of rage for no reason. This guy almost ran me off the road trying to squeeze pass me like a mad Russian.
I recently had my car stored at Bobby’s Towing after an unfortunate accident. While dealing with these situations can be stressful, my experience with the staff, especially Nikki (or Nicole, I believe), was really positive. She was extremely helpful and made the process a lot smoother. I’m not sure why there are so many poor reviews, but I think if you walk in with the right paperwork and a smile, you’ll find that these ladies are more than willing to assist you. They explained everything clearly, and I left feeling supported.
One small suggestion would be to address the odor in the lobby, which was almost unbearable. Other than that, it was a pretty good experience considering the circumstances
If I could give this place zero stars I could. Customer service was disgusting. You talked to my mother so ignorantly your place should be shut down for good. You all had us waiting for three hours past midnight for you all to claim you were 20 minutes away. Just for you all to use profanity and cancel the tow. YOU SPENT 20 MINUTES ARGUING WHEN YOU COULD HAVE SENT A TOW TRUCK BOBBY!!!! Every 45 minutes you said you were 30 minutes away. Just disrespectful and a complaint is filed against you.
We had a great experience with Bobby's TCB today. The flat bed tow truck was dispatched quickly, and our driver, Chevon, was proficient, polite and professional. He loaded us up at the BP station at 7 mile and I-75 where we broke down, and delivered my vehicle to the front of my house in Rockwood. In addition, the receptionist was great, and we shared a laugh before hanging up. Thanks for a great job!
The worst place to find yourself at. It’s a shame that this is where the city will take your car if towed. They are an awful establishment and so unprofessional. The receptionist is unbelievably terrible and not helpful at all. Rude is an understatement. Staff is careless. They will happily waste your time if you have time to spare them. Avoid at all costs. Don’t know how this place is in business, the moment you walk up to their office you’re being bombarded with signs and instructions… so inconvenient and obnoxious. Then they get upset with you for not being prepared even though they don’t tell you this information over the phone
I have read all of your reviews on Yelp and Google. You reply back to everyone’s review with the same copy and paste message. Bobby’s towing you are NOT holding your establishment or staff accountable for the mistakes and unprofessionalism this company continues to make. You claim you will improve and address issues but where are the implemented changes? You receive a terrible review every other day and weekly. How will you do better? How will you compensate customers for their time and money? Why are the same employees still being employed? What is being done about this? Please explain yourself. If Hell on Earth was a place in Detroit, it is Bobby’s Towing.
Everyone that works at the front desk ghetto and rude. I went there to get items from my car the system was down but they kept telling my daughter the car wasn’t there. Then I finally talk to someone the guy was rude then the lady had the nerve to get smart because I went to open the door and it didn’t open. So I called to them I’m outside she telling I didn’t pull on the handle. I told her I don’t want to hear no smart stuff just hurry up and pull my information up so I can get my stuff and leave. This is a horrible place the employees at that front desk rude. This the lady that was at the front desk
THESE GUYS ARE AMAZING !!!!!! BOBBY AND JEREMY REALLY HOOKED ME UP!!! SOME CRAZY PERSON STABBED MY TIRES AND BROKE MY HANDLES AND THEY WERE REALLY HELPFUL AND GOT ME UP AND GOING IN NO TIME !!!
