We bought a lot of cars from this branch I was there to pay for three cars the girl with tattoos has very bad attitude she have to learn how to respect costumer

A warning to anyone's car that gets wrecked and their insurance company takes it here. If you leave your stuff in your car, the workers here will rummage through your car unconsensually, even though you still own the vehicle, and rip your stuff off and throw it around the car damaging it. Never gave permission to go through my car or touch anything inside.

I have bought from many other IAA auction sites this has been the worst experience by far. Bought a vehicle as " run and drive" the car gets delivered and it wont start or even go into gear to come off the trailer. No help at all when I called they just gave me an email to complain to and told me it is "as is" " we do not test or drive our cars before we list them as run and drive" Bobby Nicholson the branch manager was extremely rude and not helpful in the slightest bit. I will never buy from this branch again.

Love IAA Detroit, first off you’ll save a ton of money vs Copart and spare all those numnuts competing with you, I paid and got what I paid for happy customer

Not my first time dealing with IaaI but this branch have gotten so bad it's not even funny..... AVOID BUYING FROM THIS BRANCH THE DESCRIPTION DOESNT MATCH WHAT THEY ARE SELLING AND THE PICTURES THEY ARE TAKING ARE DECEIVING, I SEEN A TOYOTA THAT I WANTED TO BUY FROM THIS LOCATION AND THEY MENTIONED THAT IT RUNS AND DRIVES BUT IT WASNT, ITS A STATIONARY CAR PLUS ITS MISSING A BATTERY AND IF THEY WROTE THIS INFORMATION IN THE DESCRIPTION I WOULDNT HAVE EVEN BID ON IT BECAUSE ITS A PIECE OF JUNK DOESNT EVEN WORTH SPEND ANY MONEY ON IT.... LITERALLY FEEL LIKE THAT I GOT SCAMMED AND ITS NOT THE FIRST TIME...... TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL AND DOESNT MEET NO ETHICS AT ALL.... AVOID BUYING FROM THIS BRANCH

The forklift damaged the windshield and exhaust, costing me $600 more to fix. The vehicle was rated 45/50 which is a lie. More like 20/50. It’s a scam company. Save your money and time. The extra charges are crazy too.

I purchased a car and I have electronic fun transfer EFT and they limit to me to $15,000 which makes no sense because they're guaranteed the money so they make me get a cashier's check and by the time this whole thing goes down it takes me two days and they charge me $400 a day late fee. This place will fee you to death

Please avoid buying from this specific IAAI, they are nothing but back stabbing scammers, I recently purchased a vehicle that stated run and drive, when I received the vehicle it had a damaged motor that’s completely locked and doesn’t even start. I contacted the branch manager Bobby Nicholas and they refuse to give me a refund.

Had extremely bad experience with IAAI Deroit, MI on 12/20/2023. Purchased a motorcycle that I personally inspected, but between my inspection and the auction date, the battery and security key fob magically dissappeared and the rear fender was smashed in. Contacted the manager Bobby Nicholson, Keith Dominick, Gary Pollard and the Customer Service, but instead of help, I was accused of lying and damaging my own vehicle. Very disappointed! Sad part is the fact that my first experience with them was positive.

I totaled my vehicle and my insurance company sent it to this staging yard to prepare for auction. I had to retrieve my personal belongings from it before it went to auction and was assured by this facility that my belongings were safe and I could come pick them up. I want to preface this review by saying that the ladies at the front desk were absolutely lovely and wonderful at their job. I appreciate them! That said, I had a huge amount of change (all quarters, well over $50) in the center console of my totaled vehicle. It is now gone after being at your staging yard. All my belongings were neatly moved to the front of my vehicle, which I don't have a problem with, but it indicates that someone was indeed in my car. No one else has had access to the vehicle except for your facility. I don't know how the people dealing with my car thought I wouldn't notice, but this is ridiculous. The loose change doesn't really matter, but it's the principle. I will be letting my insurance company know. Please do better.

STAY AWAY from these people iaai scammers and the people who work there specially in the front ladies with attitude and no respect scammers and selling junk cars and they don’t accept cashiers check they want you to use debit card or credit so they can charge you more ????

I bought a car from the IAA Branch in Detroit, Michigan. The car has a transmission problem. This problem should have been listed on the IAA website. On the website, they wrote. the primary Damage is the Rear. But always, the buyer can find the Damage listed on the website; there are a lot of cars listed under primary Damage as transmission problems except this car.

DO NOT BUY FROM HERE please save your money and just get a new car for a decent price, If the price is too good to be true just believe it, This company literally told me they can give me a car that’s perfectly fine and if the forklift driver decided to set it on fire and piss on it I’ll be responsible no refund at all this company is a fraud and they take pride in loop holing contracts and people out of there money, Please just go somewhere else and if you run into a problem with them just contact your bank to get your funds back

I received a letter stating they had a vehicle that we sold 2 years ago. When I called and inquired about it, they told me to disregard the letter as it was probably sent my mistake instead of informing me it was sent as required by law. The person I spoke with came across as very dishonest when she told me "the letter was worded poorly, and to disregard" when she could have just said we obtained the vehicle, and are required to notify the owner registered with the Secretary of State. Some times people do not transfer titles as required by law into their name when they purchase them which is probably what happened and the reason you are getting notified. Unless you have interest in recovering the vehicle, you can disregard the letter. Should have been a simple conversation instead of treating me like I was ignorant.

(Updated Review 5/1/22) it seems there is someone who works in the yard destroying Sun visors and taking/misplacing keys…. For the 3rd time in a row I’ve picked up a car only to find later the visors lid was busted off, mirror cracked, or the visor completely ripped from the roof. This isn’t happening in the accidents folks…. It’s someone who works in the yard here doing it. I’ve reported it to the managers but they don’t give a s***. My most recent visit - vehicle I was picking up showed a key (even a picture of it) upon picking up the key was gone and no where to be found. Front desk women were no help at all, gave me managers email but they never get back to you so they clearly don’t care. ALL THE MONEY WE PAY IN FEES AND THIS IS HOW WERE TREATED SMDH. Dropping from 4 to 2 stars now, atleast they bring the car out in a reasonable time….

I can’t think of a more poorly managed branch. The words customer service should never be part of their vocabulary. How this company is still in business is beyond me.

I have 4 cars now because of these guys! I would have never owned this many. Yay. I love car shopping and I might be the next Jay Leno. Just kidding. You kind of do need 2 know what ur doing. There are plenty of dealers buying from here. Kinda changed my mind about some of the cars I bought and I want to buy some more.

The people here are amazing. Bobby, Shannon and all the people involved in the day to day operations went above and beyond the call of duty to make my experience, which was becoming very frustrating to the point where I almost didn't get my vehicle, those people heard me and made everything alot better.

Had a car pickup serviced by them. Scheduled for between noon and 5, received call at 5:15 asking if I was ready, another call at 7 saying he's on his way, another call at 9:30 asking for directions, and finally pickup at 10. You can find a better place to take care of your auto salvage needs. It's not worth it.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!! i bought a car they didnt let me in too see it before payment is made. when i paid they forked the car out it was beyond repair NOT AS DESCRIBED OR PICTURED i asked to resell it there they told me they dont have space to take it back to resell it, was told lot is full and no manager to talk to. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM.

Very incompetent... lady in front desk told me to wait outside(I was picking up) waited half an hour and went inside asked them again where was my car. And then they said it's in Detroit i.e. different lot. Couldn't they say it before. It was raining and I had to unload two cars to make the space for that junk. Now I'm loading those two cars back to the trailer. Maybe they don't understand someone's time being wasted cuz of them. Ps plus very slow service. Only one young lady with glasses working properly. Others just chitchat

WARNING do not sell your car at this auction. They damaged my car with there forklift and told me they are not responsible to fix it. I gave them my car without a scratch and I took it home with front and back bumpers damaged. Worse experience of my life i regret bringing my car here to get it sold. They also stole my owners manual and the key for the lug nuts. Garbage place and garbage staff

Definitely the worst branch in the midwest. Fees are too high and it takes to long to get vehicle. There forklift drivers are the worst also. Most of the good reviews are fake reviews done buy the staff. Nobody likes this branch.

Place absolutely sucks. Staff is rude. They charge crazy fees to get the car out. You cant even start the vehicles on viewing day because the staff wont give you the keys anymore. When you do buy a car you have to wait way to long. And on top of all of this. When they go to pick up your vehicle yo bought they pick your car up on a FORKLIFT and damage it.

So frustrating how they make the public pay for cars they pretty much only take money orders. So if your picking a car up hours away you just have to hope everything is good when you get there cause you cant pay for it ahead of time.

Takes way to long to get in and out, pickup area is a mess, flat tires from clutter in the lot are a regular thing here. I don't mind picking up cars for customers but I won't buy here myself. Very poorly run location. I also don't care to wait around their offices while scumbags steal my tie-downs out of my truck as well as l.e.d. lights. Happened twice here. Not good. I'm not a fan of this location at all.

i used to by cars every week from this auction . Until the forklift operator destroyed a $1500 bumper on our 2016 Mercedes. Bobby Nicholson the branch manager and Diane the office manager both told me there is nothing they can do about it. They said they are not responsible for damage done to vehicles whether they do it or not. they also refused to give me my money back for the vehicle. I tried going to corporate but good luck getting somebody to call you back. This company is a joke. Needless to say won't be buying any more cars from them.
