Vehicle was towed here because they were highly recommended. Tow bill was around $500. It's a unique vehicle & they had it 8 or more months. Was told it could be picked up & safe to drive. It was snowing, the all wheel drive did not function & it fishtailed as semis came at me. Didn't make it home that night & was the scariest drive of my life. Transmission rebuild was part of the $4400 bill. Had the transmission rebuilt again elsewhere because theirs failed in less than 500 miles.
Had to have head gasket replaced on my 2007 Chevy Equinox. Came in and even under the price originally quoted for the repairs. The team went above and beyond to take care of some other maintenance opportunities for my vehicle. From Jen at the front desk being detailed and super kind... to Mike being an up front, honest and hardworking presence in the building.. I had a great experience and have always had great experiences all the years they've been in business. Thank you team!
Wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy! I took my car there to get my exhaust system replaced, had to wait over a week to get in. Then when I picked my car up the receipt said "replaced muffler, repaired broken pipes". Within a month the car was as loud if not louder than when I took it in. When I called in my complaint the girl behind the counter said I was being rude... and told me I was "welcome to take my vehicle somewhere else! " at this point I told her that the repairs that were done were NOT what I requested, and asked if I was going to have to pay for them to fix it AGAIN ? She said they would need to look at it and see what's going on. I made an appointment AGAIN to have them "look" at it. And a few days later I recieved a message that stated.. because I called her a liar (which I did NOT) THEY were going to cancel my appointment and I could take my car somewhere else! OK WHAT ABOUT THE $230.00 I ALREADY PAID YOU TO FIX IT??? This place has horrible customer service, a child dealing with customers (who doesn't know the difference between a customer complaint and a personal attack) who SERIOUSLY needs to learn how to deal with customers, mechanics who apparently do NOT stand behind the work they do and ABSOLUTELY ZERO WORK ETHIC ! Because ANY reputable mechanic would have looked at the rusted pipes under my car and immediately phoned me to tell me they could repair the holes but the patchwork would not hold for any length of time! Like the guy who had ALREADY welded it before them did! Which is why I ASKED FOR THEM TO BE REPLACED IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!! Honestly if there was a NEGATIVE SCORE FOR THIS BUSINESS I WOULD GIVE IT TO THEM!!!!!
My car broke down in Sandusky, but I am from Port Huron and therefore was not familiar with shops in town. I had a family member suggest Mike's and the tow truck driver said to me "oh yeah, Mike is a great guy and does great work". And he was right! Mike was very transparent with me with all the car "stuff" and was very honest about prices. His reputation preceded him in the best way. Hopefully I won't have any more car issues in the near future, but if I do, I will be trusting it with Mike and his team.
I wasn’t sure where to take my Jeep for brake repairs in Sandusky. So I Googled auto repair and decided on Sandusky Auto Repair and Performance based on the reviews I’d seen. I’m glad I did - the mechanic (sorry I didn’t get his name) got me in and fixed the problem within a day. I thought the price very reasonable. I would gladly recommend them!!
No one likes to visit a car repair shop. But it's much better when you know they are honest, that the know their stuff, and will stand behind their work. They do good work, ask fair prices. It's a friendly family owned business that will even go out of their way to help. I hate car repairs but REALLY don't want to go somewhere else.
Needed a few things fixed on our vehicle. Told them what we wanted done out of their recommendations. They went ahead and did all of them. Not what we asked for. Had to pay way more than what we were willing. Wont be coming back.
Mike is the best. I’ve taken my car other places and I’ve never gotten the service or quality as I do here. Reasonable and reliable.

Great service when we rented a small Uhaul truck. Greeted with a smile, great prices on the Uhaul on a newer model GMC truck. We were greeted with a friendly face and I departed with the same friendliness...thank you for the professionalism!
This is a great place to have service and repair done on your automobile. Mike and Josh are very friendly and understanding. Capable of explaining what's wrong and why it needs to be fixed.
