The best in the area! Wonderful customer service. I had A LOT of work done on my vehicle. It runs perfectly now and I got it back in just a few days. They did a great job showing me the exact issues and going into detail on the fix. That really put my mind at ease. Wouldn’t go anywhere else!

They were basically useless right at opening. They couldn’t take care of anything until an hour and a half after they opened, which was pretty frustrating. As someone who works in the service industry, I was honestly embarrassed by how it was handled, felt like they were practically telling me to take my money somewhere else instead of waiting around.
If you’re in the area, just go to Luai’s Automotive. High Tread is also solid if you only need tires.
And it wasn’t a thing about getting serviced immediately. They just didn’t seem to want to service me at all. They didn’t check to see if it was in stock. They just told me they couldn’t help me and the actual workers who matter weren’t there and wouldn’t be for a while.
The Detroit Garage in Walled Lake was awesome! Great communication and easy to talk with. They kept you informed throughout the whole process and they were very flexible at when I could pick my car up! Very fast turn around and car sounds great!
Very friendly staff! Enjoy the online ability to make an appointment. Car was brought in right away for an oil change, brake-inspection and tire monitor replacement. Price was very reasonable and service was quick. This was my first visit and I feel confident with the service that I received. I have become a future customer! Highly recommend!
Hate giving negative reviews. I appreciate those who operate local businesses and wish them to do well. However, I would be doing you all a disservice by not sharing my experience. Attempted to hand off my vehicle for some possibly extensive repairs, and before laying eyes on the vehicle, they handed me a bill for almost $700 for diagnoses. With no assurance that that money could be applied to the repair. I expressed my hesitancy to pay a $700 bill after barely saying hello. I was allowed to walk straight out the door as if my business meant nothing. I can only imagine how future transactions could have played out… But thank you for showing your indifference towards your customers so quickly. It saved us both a lot of time I think.
That was a majority of my issue, “a PORTION of the cost COULD be applied..”. So all one needs to say, is that in this case, no portion ended up applying to your repairs. Thank you for the reply.
Decided to try this place when my van needed front suspension work. They completed the job, but when I picked it up, there was a knocking noise in the exact area they had just worked on, a noise that absolutely wasn’t there before.
I took it back and they kept it for two days, only to tell me they couldn’t find the issue. So now I’m stuck with a new noise that started immediately after their repair…and no solution. And I can’t exactly bring it back again if they’ve already admitted they don’t know what’s wrong.
If a shop can’t diagnose a problem they created, it really makes you wonder why they’re operating as an auto repair shop in the first place.
I had a great experience with detroit garage. They diagnosed the problem on my car within a couple hours, documented all the areas of concerns with pictures which was very professional. I talked to them before I approved the repair to understand what parts were bad and needed to be replaced.
Overall I was very pleased with the work and will definitely come back.
these are great guys here unfortunately they couldn't fix my problem because the parts unavailable but other than that I would take my car here any day they were great they traded me great very upfront I would trust them to work on anything of mine I'm mechanically capable of fixing my own car but right now I have cancer and I'm weak so I can't do it
I needed a same-day oil change & couldn’t get to the dealership so I brought my hybrid into The Detroit Garage on my lunch break. They had it done in just a few hours, gave me updates (with photos), and even allowed me to opt in/out of extra services via a link they sent in text. I loved the transparency in pricing, which made it really easy to trust these guys. I dealt with the friendliest man in the world at the counter (maybe Patrick? I’m not sure) and he made sure my car got done by the time I was out of work and got me a great price on my oil change. I’d definitely recommend them!
Mike and Pat are the BEST!! They tell you the truth and are super efficient and reliable! They had my brakes completely redone and overhauled in no time and kept me in the loop as the progress was coming along!! I had a funeral to attend and they got me squared away quickly so as no to inconvenience my day. These fellas are top notch! Thanks for a job that was JOLLY WELL DONE!! 😊👏🏻👏🏻
Moved to area over a year ago and had no place to get cars repaired. Someone recently Detroit Garage who did front end alignment and oil change. During the process we were updated continuously and after diagnostics ran received notice of areas of concern and the urgency along with estimate to deal with if there was one. You just check what you might want fixed and no pressures. Highly recommend this place-fast, friendly, knowledgeable, reasonably priced.
Knew my car was having issues and took to Mike Savoie Chevy in Troy for service and the only conclusion they had was that I needed a new battery. That didn’t seem right so I brought it to the Detroit Garage and they were able to diagnose 10+ different issues with my impala. They were very detailed with pictures and itemized service breakdown so I am very happy with my service here.
I came in for an alignment to set up the car for occasional autocross use, as I had been seeing excessive wear on the outer edges of my tires. There was a miscommunication during the first alignment attempt that left me disappointed with the results. However, once the owner found out I wasn’t satisfied, he reached out personally and put in the effort to make things right. I appreciate that level of customer service — that’s all I can ask for.
Service was quick and the process from start to finish was easy. I received a text when they determined what was wrong with my car. I could then check the boxes of what I wanted fixed and they started working on it. They called me a day later and said it was ready to be picked up. Great customer service too! I brought a car in for a pre-sale inspection and some repairs on my personal vehicle and I couldn’t be happier with the service. The team was very communicative and straightforward throughout the entire process, and I really appreciated how they provided detailed pictures of everything they did. Very professional and trustworthy shop—I highly recommend them!
I've used them 4 or 5 times now and have gradually built up trust in their capabilities and honesty. The work has been reliable and they have been trustworthy. They could have easily upcharged me or sold me on things I didn't need. In fact when I suggested I needed something done per maintenance schedule they checked and suggested waiting saving me hundreds of dollars. The most recent "repair" turned out to be an easily fixed loose connector. Again they could have easily sold me on replacing a sensor or something but they didn't. The only negative I can think of is they charge over $100 for diagnosing a problem even if it's just checking diagnostic codes. But that's probably the norm these days.
I had an appointment and showed up at the scheduled time. I dropped the keys on the counter and signed the work order and before I was done the vehicle was in the shop and on the hoist. Coffee was good and so were the conversations with Mike. No problems to report on the service performed.

Recently took my track car to get an alignment before a test day. Was super happy with the service and quality of the Detroit Garages staff. The tech David who did the alignment for me utilized my custom spec and recommended changes to the setup which made the car drive so much better. Took my car in for a wheel alignment. The guys working the front desk were very friendly and communicative. Along with the alignment they inspected other areas of my car for free and provided information on repairs they recommend. They did not actively try to convince me to fix everything with them immediately, and instead said the items would be logged on my account for when I decide to make the fixes down the road. Overall was a great experience.
I took a pair of wheels to them to have new tires installed. They were done ahead of schedule. The cost matched the quote. The balance has been great on the tires. They also ran into an issue with my tire pressure sensor. They were able to rebuild it, and clearly detailed it in the paperwork back to me. Thanks again for the great work!!
I had my car in the Detroit Garage a couple of weeks ago and I was very happy with the work that was done. My car was ready the next day which I really appreciated. I have one problem when I went to wash my car a piece of the grille was missing and the paint was chipped.
I’ve always leased my vehicles in the past but decided to purchase my last one at the end of my lease. I was nervous about finding a place I can trust to maintain my car over the years without selling services not necessary. I got a coupon for an oil change just before winter so decided to try out Detroit Garage in Walled Lake. They did a free inspection at the time and recommended I replace my battery. Upon research it was reasonable for the age of the vehicle so I had it done. They were friendly and informative. I’m hoping I’ve found my place to keep my car running well for years to come with honesty and integrity!
