Bad customer service I got a commercial account and they refuse to search it I got different in the stores and they always find my account in this place. They don’t.
Went to my store in Hazel Park to pick up 6 cases 36 jugs in total and they didn't have it in stock. The located the cases at the Ferndale store. Was told they had 100 jugs on hand. Paid for the 6 cases, left and drove to the Ferndale store and was told that they didn't have 100 jugs and was told I was misinformed. The salesperson in the store went into the back, checked his stock, and told me he can only give me 24 jugs and we would have to go back to the Hazel Park store for a refund of the difference. Meanwhile...there was well over 36 jugs on the shelf out in the store after he gave me the 24. He had the product on hand but just simply refused to let me have the 36 jugs. I've been a customer of O'Reilly's for many, many years and I will say this...I will never set foot in that Ferndale store ever again.
On July 14th 2025 at approximately 10a I asked the worker James with the glasses if he could assist my son and I with the removal of the battery so that we may charge the battery and not be stranded. With a rude tone and response he stated no but that he would charge it for us if we get the battery out ourselves. I explained to him that we don’t have any tools and his response was oh well. PSA do not go to the O’reilly Auto part at 640 location off of 8mile while James is there if you are special needs ( disabled) or a black young lady. James are only kind to the old customers over the age of 60 , we noticed he was super kind to them. I guess because they had money to spend inside and they didn’t require him to do any actual work outside. Remember when you are working for a company you represent that company. James rude behavior showed me that my money will never be appreciated here. I will now shop only with Advance Auto. Here’s an update. 7/14/25 11:05a we are still stranded , however, Richard ( although still rude and I had to beg) he did give in and put a battery jumper to my battery after he tried to force me to hook the cables back on and I explained to him I know nothing about that. He responded “well how did you get it off”, when I responded that a customer helped me he replied angry toned “they shouldn’t of did that”! I am remaining calm and still currently stranded
The guy working helped confirm I needed antifreeze and oil and even helped me put it in my car and made sure it was running before I left. Very helpful!!
Pretty standard O'Reilly Autoparts. Nothing special in terms of services and items available, but seldom busy. Huge parking lot. Free engine diagnostic check. Get in, get what you need, get out. Couldn't be faster.
I had two different gaskets I was going to buy I decided to put 1 back I decided to return they want to do it because when I one of the workers sold me a rubber gasket and changed my for the one I put back and now they won't return the rubber gasket and its the wrong size very disrespectful cashiers..
They usually have what I need, and if they don't, they can order it, and the part or tool comes in fairly quickly. The folks that work there are pretty good at what they do, and are, overall, friendly.
Man the service with the bro over there is terrible! They dont answer the ph and they act like women on they menstrual! Real talk you all need better service and some women so the men can quot taken there roll!! Um serious 😆👎
I took a client here for a bolt to the positive post to the battery on his Cadillac CTS. His car starts now but I'm sure he will need gas and etc. It starts now though so he's fine.
Although I was helped, It seemed like they let the new girl waste my time as another gentlemen came in an left with in a minute. This could have been me but dude acted as if I wasnt worth his time. I even told them I had a hot pizza in the car which was cops by the times I got home. I appreciate the help in just wish I could have gotten out as fast as the other gentleman. I did get a diagnostic check which e as quick and a bottle of power steering fluid
They say they give the military discount however the gentleman said that certain things did not fall up under the military discount which I know to be untrue he was just too lazy to check terrible after you served your country and can't get a mere 10% discount thanks I'll go back to AutoZone and everywhere else before I ever go to O'Reilly's
I purchased break pads at another location, for pick up at this store. They are covered under the limited lifetime warranty. The gentleman at the other location told me to go to this store and they would give me the pads and refund the money I paid. I went to this location with the old pads. He gave me the new pads and when I asked about the refund, he said the other store would have to take care of that. I advised him that the other gentleman said that this store would refund the money back to my card, and he said "that's what HE said", with an attitude. He also tried to say my pads wouldn't be covered. I ended up making another trip back to the other store and he took care of it no problem.
Poor customer service, older black man that works there didn't greet me basically just stared at me until I said something, was snappy for no reason. I also don't like that they don't check your battery like the other locations. So don't go there if you need to do a diagnostic test.
Well stocked and clean. Staff was very knowledgable and friendly. However, NONE of the staff were wearing masks. VERY ODD considering they are required for customers..
This location is sub par to other locations. I unfortunately had to go here to get a auto part. A short haired lady, that was obese (i think her name is Pat) helped me.
You could tell right away she had a low opinion of men, her customer service skills were curt and short. The entire time she was pressing the computer keyboard with a knife, complaining about the computer being slow.
When she compared my part to the warranty replacement part...she implied heavily I did not get the part from O'Reilly. After telling her that the part was indeed from O'Reilly, she was miffed, and had to investigate if I actually got the part from there.
I felt like she did not want to return the faulty part, and was doing it out of sympathy for me, rather than it being her job to warranty out defective parts. There are plenty of other O'Reilly's within 3 miles of this location. My advice is to stay away from this one.
You wouldn't normally think about how great the customer service at an auto parts store is... That is until you visit this O'Reilly location. Has all the normal stuff you have come to expect, clean isles, well stocked merchandise, great selection... But it also has an incredibly friendly and knowledgeable staff, which to me really sets them apart. 👍
I have literally been coming to this facility for over a decade. It used to be Murrays auto store but the change to O'Reilly brought a much better level of service. The associates are knowledgeable and helpful.
I took my battery to get charged to O'Reilly's Auto Parts store. The lady waited on me and told me let's see if this battery could be charged. The store was real clean. The manager there give me quotes on a new battery. He was very helpful. If I need a new battery I will go back to O'Reilly's Auto Part thanks guys.
Very knowledgeable clerks. Helped me understand my car more and what I need. They were very professional and kind. Also, helped me find the products I needed, and were stocked on everything I needed.
I almost never visit here when I'm having a great day, it's always because there's something not right with my car. That being said I've always had a great experience with everyone who works here. They have definitely helped me keep my cars running strong without the expense of visiting a mechanic.
Stopped by the one on 8 mile for a windshield wiper that I needed. Asked service guy and he showed me the chart and found the part . Offered to put it on without me even asking. While I was trying to put it on smh he came out and put it on lol. Now that's what I call SERVICE I appreciate the help
The gentleman working had a HORRIBLE attitude!! I had a warranty on a battery and i needed it replaced. The battery was in the trunk and he told me to bring it in, i said its kind of heavy- he replied well use a basket. I waa like seriously? - he went and got it with MAJOR attitude! Then attitude the rest of my visit. I will not go back to this location
O'Reilly's on a whole is like most auto parts stores it's the people behind the counter that makes the difference in a good or bad experience. I have received good and bad parts for any parts store, this place is no different. I can say that the customer service is good and understanding of the problems that happen when working on a car.
Have had some great experiences here. Knowledgeable staff as well as very accommodating. Last time I went I bought new wipers. I was given a great recommendation. When I went to put them on my car, the guy who helped me came out and assisted in getting the right adapter on and attaching them. This kind of service is what will keep me coming back.
