After sitting in a Park And Fly parking lot for 12 days during a bitter cold winter storm (1-2026) my battery was dead when I returned. It was suggested I call Merl’s, as it was near the airport. The experience was excellent from the start. Mike answered the phone right away - no wait time. The driver was prompt and professional, and I was on the road in a little over an hour. I would definitely call Merl’s again if the need ever arises, and definitely recommend them.
Got stuck in a snow bank early at 4 in the morning after getting out of work cause I couldn't get any traction under my wheels during a turn. Gave Grand Rapids Towing a call, guy shows up about 20 mins later, and with a some effort manages to free my car and just tells me to go on. I asked him "you sure I can't pay you?" And he tells me he was feeling generous. Great dude, I'll definitely be calling these guys if I get into some trouble again
This was only my fourth time having my car towed. However, it was a very positive experience. Usually, at times like these you’re tense. This time it was different. We chatted as if we’d know each other for a long time. It didn’t make the experience a fun time, but the stress seemed to disappear. If I ever have to use a tow service again, I already feel that it can’t compare to this one.Engine trouble has never been and more than likely never will be as stress free.
Very Disappointing Experience – Grand Rapids Towing
My experience with Grand Rapids Towing was extremely unprofessional. I spoke with a representative named Chelsea, and her attitude was completely unacceptable.
I politely asked her how much it would cost to tow my vehicle from Grand Rapids to the Detroit area, and I clearly mentioned that it was not an emergency call. Instead of giving a courteous response or even a basic price range, she immediately became aggressive and rude.
Her exact approach was: “If you want a price, give me an address,” said in a very unpleasant and disrespectful tone, as if I was bothering her by simply asking a question.
If the owner has the call recordings, he can easily listen and hear the unprofessional behavior for himself.
This kind of customer service damages the company’s reputation. Unfortunately, I do not recommend this company at
Thanks for helping my daughter in her accident. Guy from Merl's towing was awesome. Very helpful. When I went to get stuff out of car the next day I went to lot at Grand Rapids Towing. The gentleman that was at desk for lot was the worst person I have delt with in years. He was very disrespectful and didn't even want to acknowledge me as the only person in office. He would rather watch TV show he was watching. I felt like I was interrupting this rude person of personal time. If this was my employee I would fire him in 2 seconds
This isnt about your towing services but about a great person with amazing customer service that you guys have employed there. His name is tyler and I was lost and stranded in a city I knew nothing about and it being extremely busy on halloween night, I lost the party I was with and he helped direct me exactly where I needed to go. He must of been coming from a job and I stopped him at a light. Thank you so much tyler! I truly appreciate you!

Merl's towing did a good job towing my vehicle to where I wanted it to go. Great communication and service from the moment I called them all the way through the payment process. They did not damage my vehicle in anyway and were the best in town for pricing. Would highly recommend to use them.
They came within 20 minutes after I called for a battery charge early in the morning. That allowed me to get my car into the service shop early. Thank you for coming so quickly and the driver was very friendly!
I was very surprised on how fast they were, I talked to the body shop and they called Tow company and I had a phone call within 3 minutes and they came and got my truck fast definitely will be calling them anytime I need a tow. Not just fast service but everyone I talked to was so polite and courteous. Thank you
Mark #1 was true to his title. It was not an easy pick up or drop. We were fighting road construction in route, he navigated back roads got me there on time. Fare price, knows his shit inside and out. Professional and a good guy. I hope he's there every time I need a tow!
Don helped my mom when her car broke down and towed it to the body shop. He was very kind and professional and put her mind at ease with the process. She had called me and I had stayed on the phone with her until the car was dropped off. My husband picked her up to follow the car to the body shop and we were grateful for the quick response and turnaround!

The arrival of the tow truck was much faster than expected. The driver was very polite, fast, & efficient. I could tell that the driver had a lot of experience. He did a great job! I'm very pleased with his service.
Quick arrival & super friendly! John was at the scene and had us towed to our shop in less than an hour. He made room in his cab so my husband and I could ride together. John even left us with a wood block so our car wouldn’t roll away after it was at the shop. Overall great experience!

As a young woman, I’m sometimes worried about how my experience will be will towing companies. The man that came to help me was very kind and very fast. I felt comfortable, like it was dad coming to fix my tire. 10/10 experience.
Thought battery was dead, car died on side of road, fuel was low, Gas tank modular don’t work, had air in gas line and stalled out my vehicle. So we were able to get gas in and was good. Need to get gas modular replaced. Brian was a BIG HELP & VERY FRIENDLY!! :)
I was alone in a strange town and got a flat tire on my husbands brand new BMW….I pulled off the interstate and into a parking lot Ito call AAA….I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Merl’s Towing! They arrived so quickly after I called AAA….the driver was so professional, kind and FUNNY! He took us (me & the car) to the dealer and even walked me in to the service department and introduced me. Merl's performed a AAA flat tire flatbed tow on my 2015 Tesla. The intake phone call was very courteous and they gave me an estimated arrival time. The two tow truck personnel were very friendly, knowledgeable about the specifics of the car and very careful. The transfer to my preferred shop was taken care of swiftly and the offloading, once again, was done with extra care. All around, everyone was great to deal with!
