Had several thousand dollars of work done. EXCELLENT customer service. Had minor problem (car is 2 decades old) but was taken care of immediately. Alex is friendly and knowledgeable. His staff did the job very well. Walter's is my #1 place for service

This team is fantastic. We bring our family cars here for maintenance regularly, but had an unexpected repair needed today. Alex and the team were able to get the repair done ( finding that the part was under warranty) saving us money while providing a speedy turn around. It is our daughter’s wedding week and we are happy to not have to manage being without a car! Cheers!

Alex gave me the most amazing price and service and works with people from all walks of life without judgement or anger. I would recommend his team for everything. I will be using his services for as long as needed.

August 1-4 we were in Kalamazoo for a family gathering when our car had some serious engine problems. One of my fears is car problems in a city where I don't know a reliable repair shop. Fortunately, my sister-in-law recommended the place that works on her car - Walters Auto Service. Excellent service is not the only great thing about Walters Auto Service. On a typically busy Monday morning, Alex was able to get our car in to diagnose the problem. He worked with our home-base repair shop to find they'd replaced the problematic part two months earlier and it should be still under warranty. He then worked with the warranty company to get our work done at no cost. Since the work was done for the previous owner, the warranty company denied payment. But this doesn't alter the fact that Alex spent his time to try and get us a warranty payment. We appreciate the repairs were quickly completed and we were homeward bound. I was concerned we'd have to stay overnight but Walters Auto Service/Alex had us on our way only slightly behind our planned departure time. This was done for strangers that suddenly asked/needed to be unexpectedly put in an already busy Monday schedule. So it is no surprise that while we waited for the problem diagnoses many repeat customers came in for regular maintenance service and scheduled the next maintenance. Our huge, grateful thank you to Alex and all service members at Walters Auto Service. Both were part of an unscheduled maintenance need and got us on the road quickly.

Absolutely loved everything about this place! The man I spoke to (I’m so sorry I forgot your name) was so incredibly kind and real with me! It was clean in there, nice soft music playing so the atmosphere is calming and on the quiet side if you are waiting. Comfortable seating with nice trays that attach to them if you need to work in a lap top or eat while you wait. I went in for a second opinion because I was scared into thinking I had so many more drastic and expensive issues by the Subaru Dealership in my area, but this man eased my anxieties and was honest with me.100% recommend this place, especially if you need a second opinion. Lesson learned, don’t go to a dealership for work on your car, go to Walter’s! Thank you again!

Alex and the rest of the Walters Auto Service team did a great job on my 2014 GMC Terrain! They replaced brake packages on both front wheels, mounted a complete set of new spark plugs, performed a full safety inspection, warned me about serious problems with two of the tires (which I took over to Discount Tire on Stadium Drive the next day for four new tires), and patched a hole in the front muffler pipe near the engine, which was getting loud. I appreciated the advice they gave me about replacing the exhaust system. I just wanted to replace the mufflers and all the pipes. The team advised me to save my money because I still had life left in the exhaust system. I made an appointment, brought in the vehicle first thing in the morning, and they finished all this work the same day! Their prices were very fair. I happily recommend Walters!

We definitely found our new car place. Very nice a courteous. They stayed in communication with me let me know step by step what they did and what there plans are to fix the issue. We will never take our car anywhere else.

So happy with our experience at Walter's. Friendly, fast, fair and affordable. We were struggling to find a good place. And now we have our " Go to " car repair shop. Congrats to Alex on your new addition, and Gary was so friendly and helpful!! We will definitely be going back with all our car repairs!!

Update*** Not long after leaving my initial review Alex called me and asked what he could do to make things better. I have to say I am impressed with Alex’s dedication to customer service and the steps he took to rectify my situation. I was very pleasantly surprised, thanks Alex! I took my vehicle in a few weeks ago. I had high hopes for this shop with the 5 start reviews on google. I’ve been trying to fix the misfire it has for awhile with no luck. I spent $150 here just to be told I need to run Seafoam through my truck. I’ve done this previously multiple times. The misfire is only getting worse with time. I was told my vehicle isn’t worth enough on paper to warrant putting money into it. I however disagree and just want my truck to run smoothly regardless of the cost to me.

I recently chose Walters Auto Service to perform regular, scheduled maintenance on my 2016 Nissan Murano. I have always used the dealer for service on my vehicle, but their pricing has skyrocketed. I have been looking for a local, private garage recently, saw Walters 5 star rating, scheduled an appointment to perform the scheduled maintenance, and am extremely pleased with the staff, the clean/updated garage, and timeliness of work performed, and most importantly, the cost savings over the dealer service prices. If there are multiple things that need attention or might soon, they help me prioritize what to focus on first with my budget in mind. The shop is clean. Alex, the service manager, knows his customers and their cars. It's like a trusted friend. I recall have the front tie rod in my Subaru replaced and one of the bolts was frozen and broke. A half day job became a 2 day nightmare. The price stayed the same despite all the extra labor, and Alex kept me apprised of the progress throughout the ordeal. Great customer service

As a former service writer, I have to say this great shop! Alex, the manager is a pro! I had to have my car towed in and had it back within 24 hrs running better than ever. I definitely will be bringing my car here in the future.

I have always had a pleasant experience working with Walter's auto for my car repairs. The services is done promptly the price is reasonable. Alex the manager is friendly, efficient and proactive helping to keep my vehicles operating safely. I would recommend this business for vehicle oil changes and service.

It is hard to find trustworthy car service providers. However, Walter's Auto Service is very trustworthy. I have mainly got oil changes which are an hour or less and the prices are fair. I have also had to replace an outer tire rod which was also fixed at a fair price. In addition, they never tell me what else they can do. I have a request and they fill it. There's no : "oh well you also need this, this, this, and this fixed". Over the couple of years I have been here, only 1 issue they have told me I need to fix sooner or later due to safety issues. If that's not enough proof, Alex told me that my car might make some loud noises but it is not a big deal and does not need to be addressed for it is not a safety issue. Many places try to "fix" or replace many parts that still have have plenty of life. I will continue to go here as long as I'm in the area. Alex, at Walter’s garage is both a skilled mechanic and a kind, honest person. All of the work I’ve had done at the garage has not been simply satisfactory, they have done an excellent job! They are also clear, courteous communicators so that you know exactly when to pickup your vehicle. Although I don’t know much about cars, I do know that I’ve found a high-quality, honest garage. Try Walter’s. They earn your customer loyalty.

I had a wonderful experience at Walter's! The staff is incredibly friendly and efficient. Well worth the wait for my appointment. After I picked my Jeep up it was still making some noise and I was able to get it back in the same day and just needed a small adjustment. No more noise and my Jeep is back on the road!

Phenomenal service! We were traveling from Indianapolis to Kalamazoo and had battery failure. We replaced the battery but needed an alternator repair. We called Walter’s and Alex was very quick to help us diagnose the issue and get us in for service. He even had the part waiting for us when we got there an hour later and had us out the door and on our way in less than 2 hours. They properly installed our battery and charged our old battery too. Facility was very clean and orderly, and we were very comfortable working there while we waited for our repair to be completed. Rates were very fair, too. Highly recommend! FAST. I was told three days to fix my car and it took them one. I guess sometimes things fall together unexpectedly easily, but I couldn't help but be impressed with their speed. Also fast and clear correspondence while work was being performed. I've had a place that didn't even call once in a week to update me on the status of a vehicle; Walters is the opposite of that. The cost is definitely not the cheapest in town but they're not doing cheap work, I received some quality service here. Overall, Walters exceeded expectations. Easy recommend.

My roommate and I had a great experience here! The staff was so kind and caring, they made us feel at home. Dave was so nice to us! I usually don’t have great experiences at auto shops and this place blew my mind with how great it was. They didn’t take advantage of us since we don’t know much about cars! The building is so pretty on the outside too. We are so thankful to Dave and everyone else at Walters Auto Service. I am going to recommend this to everyone in Kalamazoo so they can have a great experience too! 10/10

Walter’s Auto Service offers exceptional service. They took care of my car as quickly as they possibly could and were very flexible. The people who work here are so genuine and make sure that your experience is wonderful! Prices are fair as well. I am so thankful to have found this place, I will be going here for car troubles as long as I live in the area!

I was very thorough with looking at Google reviews in this area and Walter’s had the best overall ratings by far. I called and spoke with Dave, who was very personable and helpful. Told me he could get me in Friday but if I drop it off he may find the time to get it done sooner. To my surprise he found an opening the next day! Got my brakes all done in a timely fashion, communicated well & kept me informed of my options. I was very pleased with the work, the cost and the service. This is my new go-to spot. Highly recommend!!!
