I took my Jeep to Pep Boys to have one headlight replaced. I was told it’s best to replace both at the same time, so I agreed. When I got my Jeep back, neither headlight was working.
Now I have to go back and spend my entire off day sitting at Pep Boys to fix an issue that should’ve never happened in the first place. Extremely frustrating, inconvenient, and disappointing. I expected basic quality control, especially for something as simple and important as headlights.
While the people were very kind, they were not knowledgeable about the issue and missed a massive coolant leak that caused further damage. Great for tires, but if you are looking for a place for warranty work on your car. Go elsewhere.
Went to get my car fixed so it could pass inspection. They acted like they fixed it. My car started off with three codes and now it has eight because they messed it up.

The work done on my vehicle was done well. Customer service was good and the coupons are even better. Saved me a pretty penny on work I had to have done anyways! Would recommend them to anyone needing repairs or maintenance done on their vehicle.
Just less than a year ago, I purchased 4 new tires at the Pep Boys in Salisbury, Maryland for my 2014 Dodge Challenge R/T. Last week, I noticed that the the rear, passenger side tire was slowly losing air, so I took it to Pep Boys for evaluation. They told me that it had a staple in the tread and that it needed to be plugged. The plugging was successful, but here is where it gets bad.
When I received my car, I noticed that my black wheel (MOPAR Black Phantom Pearl) had huge amounts of chips our of the paint. I noticed that there was a small pattern in all of the chips that it came from the technician losing control of the pneumatic lug nut wrench when either taking off or putting back the lug nuts onto the wheel. Now, this is something all auto technicians should learn in autotech 101. I am the furthest from an autotech and I know how to use one.
I contact the manager, Tim, and he noticed the damage as well and wasn't sure if it was there before I brought it in or not, but he assumed it was there prior because he saw that my car was in pristine condition, as I take extremely good care of it.
He then took it upon himself to order a new wheel for me from Dodge and it was installed just yesterday by an expert, Mark. Mark refused to let the original technician install the new wheel and tire.
Pep Boys did good on making this bad situation a best outcome, but they really need to make sure all their techs are highly trained or it could get expensive for them with potential damage.
I thought about what type of rating I would give Pep Boys in Salisbury, Maryland, but they always have been good to me and make things right!
I thought I needed my front pads done and when I said that, they first did a free inspection to check them out. I needed pads. I had an appointment and they were on time and it was done pretty quickly.
The staff was friendly and made sure that I was completely satisfied. The manager and assistant manager made sure to check every detail although it appeared they were under staffed and extremely busy. The technicians were very knowledgeable and respectful. I recommend the Salisbury Md. Pepboys store to my family and friends for services and tires. Thanks!
They were very friendly, and communicated well. The front desk called me when there was an issue to let me know and apologized. It was nice that they took the time to do that and it wasnt a problem. They did a great job servicing my car and it was done to my expectation.
I appreciate the store for what they do. They are straightforward with you and they keep it real. I even came back to them about an issue from a recent service visit they took a look at it and seem to fix the problem. I thank them for that when most companies probably would have turned me away.
The shop manager lied I believe because he knew I was about to go to a different place. I got tires after they installed the tires. My tires were super loud. I’m not sure if they did the wheel balance correctly or if they installed bad tires I will never go here again.
They got a really good honest team here, as a female you got a lot shops that will try to pull one over on you, (say you need this and that and pressure you) when I left I could tell they genuinely cared. I appreciate the service they gave and how knowledgeable and honest they were. That's not easy to come by!
I visited the location for an ac evaluation. After 2.5hrs of waiting, I asked the status of my vehicle and was told the evaluation takes 1 hr. After the evaluation was done, the rep told me the completed the evaluation and it was low so they charged it up the ac. I did not authorize this. I was told by phone the evaluation would be $9.99 with the coupon which I had. He said because of my system I could not use this coupon. This was not stated on the coupon. If he told me this initially i would have never got the evalation done. He also told me my tire had a nail in it and the fee to patch it was in the total was 21.99. Once I left I was driving down the road the car started to wobble. The tire that they supposedly fixed was flat. I couldve easily had an accident because of this. I went back they put this old ugly tire on that doesn't match my set. Now I'm stuck buying a new tire. We tried to resolve these issues with them but the manager is nasty and rude and dishonest. Told me my tire was dryrod and that wasnt true and they didnt state this when i was there. They said the tire was under warranty so we gave you a new one. Lies because i didnt get my tires from them, they dont carry the brand. He wants to give me $100 which doesn't compensate for me to get a new tire that matches my set. This also doesn't compensate for the lie I was told about the cost of the evaluation. This doesn't compensate for the fact the my son and I could of had an accident because of this neglience. I recommend that you not visit this store. Everyone that was there in the morning was back there in the afternoon because of they messed up their vehicle. The worker with the bald head and a customer got into it because he had been waiting 4hrs for a set of tires to be put on. The man told him to take his car down because he was ready to go. He told him we will take the new tires off the car and then you can leave. The worker looked like he wanted to fight the man. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!
Went in to get my new tires put on and balanced. got the wheels back and noticed they had alittle more vibration than normal but didn’t think much of it. fast forward to the next morning the front passenger tire is completely flat. which i think to myself is odd since i had them replaced just the day before. took the wheels off and to my surprise the wheel itself was cracked. keep in mind all my wheels were completely fine until pep boys got to it. came in and showed them the damages as well as that sanded spot that looks like someone took a power tool to and they claimed it was a pothole… Never going back would give 0 stars but if you’re looking to get your wheels destroyed i’d recommend pep boys
Made an appointment for next day service to get brakes changed. Got a confirmation of the appointment, but when we got there, we were told they "probably" couldn't get it in that day (4pm appointment, and they were open until 7pm). All they had to do was call and tell us they couldn't do it, and we wouldn't have driven 45 minutes (each way) to get there. We killed an hour and a half before they told us they had looked at it, and they couldn't do it. Waste of time, and won't be back.
Very happy with my service here. We got a bolt in my rear tire. Took care of my immediately, in and out a little over 30 min. We are back to enjoying our vacation. Way to go Salisbury Pep Boys!
Ac checked in my car. Bad compressor. I bought an ac compressor and they put it in. Car not blowing cold air. Made another appointment to have checked. They checked it and my condenser was bad. All together for the labor on the ac installed and condenser install i Will have about 800 dollars in it. Then for the parts it was about 550 dollars. I would think they should have found out the condenser was bad either when they found out the ac compressor was bad or after they charged the ac with freon.
I made an appointment for alignment. I was taken in on time and the work was finished on time. The crew was VERY knowledgeable and super competent. They noted that the car had rear alignment adjustment and corrected that as well. Great experience! Highly recommend Pep Boys Salisbury!
They took care of me, and they were honest when they did the suspension evaluation and break check. They told me everything was fine. I knew that already. They didn’t try to run up a bill on me. They saw me at my appointment time and finished in the time they said it would be done.
After getting a razor blade punctured tire late in the day Saturday in OC I was in panic mode a bit as I live near DC. But this place being open on a Sunday, easter no less though with fewer hours, I was intensely relieved to find that they were open and had my cars tire in stock which most places do not. Customer service was exceptional even though I know they all wanted to get home for the holiday. I'd give this place 6 stars if a could. Shout out to Taylor and Tee for helping me out!
