Got a flat tire in the very early hours of a very cold day. I have AAA so I called them. Long story short, after over 4 hours of waiting and no help, I gave up and called R&S. Im so glad I did! Spoke with owner who informed me his mechanic wouldn't be in for a few more hours but I was welcome to wait in the safety of his lot. Very slowly I made my way there on a flat and waited. The owner called to see if I made it there and alerted his mechanic to my issue. When the mechanic arrived to open the shop he invited me in, told me I was welcome to a cup of coffee and to use their restroom. So grateful! After a bit, the mechanic came out and told me he had run into some issues getting the tire (a used one they had as mine was destroyed) to balance properly but assured me i could make it home safely, about a 45 minute drive. Was told there would be NO CHARGE since they couldn't balance it properly! Got home safe and sound! These people are professional, kind, and simply the BEST place to deal with! Im still impressed every time I think about that situation. Proof that there are still good, honest people and businesses around. Thanks R&S!!!

My truck broke down on my way home to new jersey from my friend's house in WV, they were able to look over my truck and get me back on the road within a few days! They were friendly, communicated extremely well, and let me know exactly what was going down. Dont delay, call R&S today!

I was recently was driving back from Ohio when my check engine light came on and my car didn’t seem right. I stopped at a business in Hancock and they referred me to R & S…which I am so thankful for. The atmosphere was very friendly and family oriented. They were able to pin point the problem in a reasonable time. I felt I received an honest and fair price. I will definitely keep them in mind when passing through. Thank you R & S.

My low tire pressure light came on and even after adding air, my tire was low. I stopped at R and S to ask for help. Turns out, I had picked up a nail. They plugged the tire and sent me on my way free of charge! Very friendly and very fast service! I recommend them very highly! Thank you so much!

Great place after many stressful days with other repair shops time line and pricing. This place came recommended and staff was wonderful, compassionate to to frustration and work was completed promptly and a much fairer price than what I previously was quoted. A SATISFIED AND RETURNING CUSTOMER!

I can’t say enough good things about this company. From the moment I called, they were responsive, honest, and helpful. The driver arrived faster than expected, was super respectful, and took great care of my car. Being stranded is never fun, but they made the whole process smooth and stress-free. Highly recommend!

We had our truck overheat while towing our trailer and we called for a tow. He told us we needed a new transmission and it would take months to fix it. We wouldn't let him fix it so he called my husband a bunch of names and was very unprofessional. Turns out our transmission was totally fine and did not need to be replaced. Beware of this company.

These guys are fantastic! Super honest & super nice. Fixed my flat and saved the day. Couldn’t be any happier and grateful for their help today.

I would highly recommend this place and these people to anyone. I am a college student and on my way back home for Thanksgiving and my check engine light came on in the middle of nowhere. I was about an hour from my college and 3 hours from home so I decided to go to R&S. When my car was not able to be fixed that day one of the men at R&S (Roger) took me to the best hotel in the area and made sure I had food and everything I needed. Then I called them multiple times the next day to get updates on my car and they always answered me promptly and patiently, which as a young adult helped calm my anxieties. Then when my car was done, his son came to pick me up which was incredibly appreciated. If I could give them 10 stars I would.

I had a wonderful experience. Our check engine light started blinking while traveling for Thanksgiving. R&S were able to diagnose the problem and fix it the day after Thanksgiving allowing us to travel home the next day.

This company is amazing! We broke down with a flat in I-70 west with a horrible accident about 1.5 miles in front of us. Cody, the tow trucker driver waited in traffic for about an hour before he could reach us. Was professional and pleasant and had the tire changed out to the spare and us back on the road in less than 15 minutes. It made a stressful situation, that much easier. Would not hesitate to use this business again for any towing needs.

Stay away from this garage. Owner started off nice and helpful and also quoting me much lower than the ending cost. Blew a spark plug in my truck. Something that should of been $1k in charges at the most ended up being $1600. Owner replaced unnecessary parts. 1 plug blew so it should of only needed 1 plug and 1 coil pack. Owner opted to install all new plugs and coils. Didn't need to remove the head to repair but yet charged me the costs of what that would have ran in an honest shop. I felt something was off so I called two other shops in the area and was told at most would be a $500 repair. When I tried talking to the owner about the excess expense he instantly went to being belligerent and told me he would just put my parts in my truck floorboard and shove my truck out in the parking lot and I can come get it. By that point he already knew he had me in a tuff spot. If I could give this shop 0 stars I would. What a jerk. Just charge fair prices and do the job correctly. 200 miles after getting my truck "repaired" it had developed a misfire, I ended up at another garage, when they pulled out plug number 4 that was replaced they found that the plug put in wasn't even the plug that went to my truck, it was about 1 inch longer than all the others causing a misfire and terrible idle. Stay away from this shop. Putting a call to the Maryland attorney general about deceptive business practices. This guy shouldn't be running a hot dog cart.

These guys are one in a million. Our van overheated on our way to Lexington, we brought it here and they not only gave us coolant but also helped us out with diagnosing the problem! Highly recommend!!

I highly recommend you not use this shop. I regard them as unprofessional and dishonest. I seldom leave reviews on anything, but my experience was so negative I felt obligated to leave one. Take your business elsewhere. My car broke down and AAA towed it to their garage (by happenstance, it maximized my 100 mile allowance). I was treated rudely, charged $62 more than I was quoted for the diagnostic fee, and the vehicle went missing, presumably stolen, before habitat for humanity could pick it up as a charitable donation. Mind you it was a broken down 2004 Pontiac vibe. I promise you this actually happened. All to say, you will get swindled in some way if you use them.

I called R&S on my way from Morgantown to Hagerstown on I-68 and I knew I had a leak in my tire. Roger, the owner, was accommodating and had Paul work on right away. Paul found a screw in the tire, but was not leaking there, then he was able to find the leak and plug the tire with same technique I would have used. If you are ever close to Hancock, MD and in need of vehicle repair, I recommend these guys.

Amazing, honest, caring, skilled, endearing, compassionate. I spent an entire day unexpectedly with this crew. I saw it all. And I could not be happier to have experienced it all. Roger and his family run an amazing shop. They are committed to getting everyone back on the road in the best way possible. They took care of me. Alternator fails at 5am on 70 near Hancock. After 3 hrs I finally got the tow. Called ahead and Roger was ready to help me out. Got my alternator same day and prioritized it to get me on the road again home. I was 4 hrs away from Cleveland. A few things I witnessed while I squatted there for the day: A customer chose to ignore the “no checks” rule and could have been confrontational. Roger explained why he doesn’t take checks from people passing through whom he saves from the peril of the highway. In the end, Roger made an exception and had his wife (who runs the business side, along with his oldest daughter) run the check through the bank so they could take it. Later, a young lady came in to get her car after they repaired an oil leak. She was probably 20, give or take. So grateful to get her car back working. When she asked how much, get this, no charge. You’re a good customer and we had the hose anyways… quick fix. Just be safe. She couldn’t believe it. Fixed a car for a local kid who was away at college. Called to tell him it was repaired. Kid said he couldn’t be there for a couple days. Rule was clearly posted and understandable, pick up in 48 hrs or charged storage. Worked with this kid, while also noting his car needed a bath. Filthy. Get this…. Works with the kid, and then calls his guy over to the desk and tells him to take this kid’s little car to the wash to get a bath. They cleaned it and flexed to let him get a ride from college to get it. Roger mentioned he was sorry I had to hang out there so long waiting for that part. There are far worse places to be stuck! Such good people, and such a great family operation. They took care of me. Full lot of cars. They got me fixed up and out the door back home same day. And I am truly grateful for Roger, Emily, Rachel, Will, and all the rest at R&S! God bless them. Long story short, break down east of Breezewood or anywhere near Hancock, MD, go to R&S.

Roger took great care of us when our chevy Avalanche broke down. We were passing through from out of town. He personally drove us to the bed western for the evening. Then he picked us up on the way to his shop the next morning and had our new alternator amd serpentine belt on the truck and ready to go before lunch. Great service, superior work. Would definitely use their services again. God Bless. World need more Roger's in it.

Absolutely amazing service!!! I was going to DC and had a leak in one of the tires. I found them on Google and when I reached their shop the entire team helped me like they knew me for years. I explained then that I have to go to the airport to pick up my family and they went out of the way to help me quickly. On top of their services they made my son and I feel like a family. They offered us cold water and continue to show their care for people. On top of all their work the owner didn’t charge me a single dollar and helped me out as a good gesture. People like these are very hard to find these days. I truly appreciate Nathan’s help!!! They made my trip to DC airport possible without having my family wait there for too long.. I appreciate your help guys!!!

AAA connected them to us for a tow. The tow driver was very nice, very helpful to get our vehicle towed. He even gave us a ride back to the hotel and offered to fix the vehicle. He towed it back to their shop, a half of a day went by and no one contacted us. We had to call several times only to be told they would not even touch it until Monday. (Which we discussed it can only go to the shop if done the next day). We were out of town and broke down Thursday. We were told this on Friday. The car was stuck and we had to get heading back home. We told the front desk guy that we have to leave the car. He wasn't interested in buying it so we offered to give it to him. He said he didn't want it and described how the car was junk and being rude. He proceed to tell us we have a bill of $150, then changes the price to $209. I said we do not owe you anything because for one NO ONE TOLD US THERE WOULD BE A CHARGE. We did not sign anything or give approval for anything other than for the tow driver to drop the car there. The front desk guy claimed he looked at the car for 2 hours and had to charge labor it?! The tire was crooked due to a snapped axle/ball joint. From day 1 the tow driver already knew exaclty what the issue was by eye balling it. When I called him out of never stating a price the guy started getting very rude and his demeaner changed fast. I would NEVER reccomend this place unless you want to let a big loser bully you and charge you for NOTHING. We ended up selling the vehicle to another tow company. When the guy came to get it THIS GUY BLOCKED THE CAR IN. Very shady buisness. I wonder if the tow driver was so nice just so the tow company can trick people and trap them. Horrible buisness with no ethics.

I was towing my motorcycle trailer behind my pickup truck. Hot hot day, running AC, probably pushing a little too hard with the load.. My serpentine belt slipped off track and disintegrated during a steep climb up the mountain on Route 68 between Cumberland and Little Orleans. I limped to the top, and coasted down the hill to the next exit #68, where there was an Exxon gas station. Way overheated, antifreeze spitting from radiator. I called AAA (I'm an RV+ member) and they connected me with R&S. Justin (tow truck driver) was fast and competent; they took me in ASAP. Paul (mechanic) did a full assessment, why did the belt let go? Turns out it was the main bearing of the water pump; the shaft to the fan was wobbling like mad, and at the high RPM's and full load, the belt was not going to stay in place. The tolerances in this engine compartment were tight, pump and fan is right butting up to the radiator.. and to get the pump out required removing the radiator (complications!!). Pump was not available that evening, but the new pump was ordered for morning delivery and prep work was done that evening, for installation the next morning. Roger (owner) was so helpful, he got me in touch with a nearby hotel, and Paul gave me a ride to the hotel. The next morning, Roger picked me up at the door & drove me back to the garage.. no charge for the transportation! They did a proper installation of pump, fluids, new idler, and belt. Roger took the time to explain every part of the process, and I was grateful for his (and Paul's) professionalism, commitment to doing the right thing, and customer care. The bill was perfectly reasonable, and I got home that day with no further drama. Highest recommendation to R&S, 5 stars from a weary and worried traveler far from home.

My coolant reservoir cracked while I was on a road trip. Luckily, R&S was able to quickly repair my car and get me back on the road. They were fast, honest, and friendly. They even gave me a ride to my hotel! I absolutely recommend them for anyone in need of a good mechanic.

I cannot recommend r & s enough. I broke down 2 hours into an 8 hour drive and Roger went above and beyond to help me out. Not only did he (and his employees) do the work on my car, he even gave me a ride to a nearby hotel. Roger was honest and kind to me throughout the whole process. This place is amazing and I 100% would recommend it to anyone who needs it.

Roger literally saved our family with stranded car and 4 passengers on a Friday evening. Only tow service that would answer the call and had the right equipment. He also coordinated a ride for our family to the town 40 miles away where the nearest repair shop was located. If there was a “100” star rating they earned it. Many thanks!

These guys were absolutely amazing. I had a car emergency while passing through Hancock on a road trip, and when I called they told me to stop by so they could see if there was an issue. Despite being fully booked and very busy, they took the time to thoroughly check my car and actually fix the problem for me. They also refused to take any money from me and were so kind to me when I (a somewhat helpless girl with no car knowledge) needed help. I couldn’t recommend more!

My husband and I simply could not have had a better experience with this company. Our tire had dry rotted out in the middle of The highway it was absolutely petrifying. This company was definitely recommended to me by my auto insurance company since I didn’t have emergency towing, however they came and picked us up with ease. Our vehicle didn’t have flashers either yet they still found us. Oh my husband and I were in the middle of traveling to Michigan and we had nowhere to sleep in. They allowed us to sleep overnight in their parking lot. In the morning when staff got there, they provided us with a bathroom and amazing hospitality. This is a company. I can always recommend it to people around this area. Family owned and operated and these are just absolutely amazing people. It turned out that we needed two new tires and thankfully this company was able to provide us two new tires at a low cost to us. Prices were extremely reasonable and we could not be more excited and to have our car fixed and back on the road. If we ever break down again, anywhere close to the area, this is the first company we are calling

We had a punctured tire and found R&S on Google and pulled in. Roger was Nathan were quick to help us and so friendly. We talked about life while waiting for the team to fix the tire. The entire process took 20 minutes and then we were on our way. It was a great experience and we thank Roger and Nathan for their help and their kindness!

While on a trip and several hours from home, we ran into a car issue and found our way to R &S Auto and Truck Repair. We were not familiar with area, were traveling with our sweet old dog and needed help. We were welcomed with a smile, great knowledge and professional assistance. We feel so fortunate to have found such a great group of people to help us when we were feeling worried and concerned. Those feelings quickly disappeared when we were greeted by positive and supportive humans. The problem was discovered and repaired AND they refused to take payment. Thank you for your kindness and help-we feel so blessed!

In September of last year, I broke down on Rt. 68 outside of Hancock. Not knowing the area, I contacted R&S. They came and towed me to the shop, which was fine. The truck had overheated and needed a head gasket job. The truck was in the shop for close to a month. Got the truck back - 6 months and $5,000 later my truck needs a new engine. Their $5,000 repair did not hold up. So now, I'm taking my truck to the anti-Roger, a Mennonite shop (Strite's Auto) in southern Pennsylvania to get my truck fixed correctly. I can trust them and plus, they don't have any tattoos on their necks!! :) Lastly and the thing that proved Roger is a liar and a fraud is him telling me he sent a refund payment to me for a part TWICE while he never sent the money at all. I would NEVER do business again with this guy and would never recommend him to anyone.
