Omar and his team at Liberty helped me with a coolant issue with my Dodge Durango and now the car is running as good as new and it has over 195k miles and is 15 years old! Very fair prices, quick services, and clear communication. Omar and his team have just started in this location in the last six months but I recommend them if you are looking for mechanical services in the Beltsville/College Park area.

They are very fast to help you out but for a punctured tire they don’t do patches so I had to go elsewhere.

Thank you for your excellent help and service in my 2016 Nissan Altima. I am so glad I found you!!! :-)

A Fantastic Update to a Local Mechanic I recently visited the auto shop at the College Park Liberty gas station and was blown by the changes. Under new ownership, they have completely renovated the building and, most importantly, outfitted the garage with brand-new, modern equipment. The new manager, Omar, leads a skilled team. His background as a Tesla engineer brings a high level of technical expertise that you don't always find at a local shop. This translates to fast, accurate diagnostics and repairs. They fixed my car's issue quickly and got me back on the road without any hassle. Between the clean facility, the new technology, and the knowledgeable staff, this is now my go-to mechanic. I strongly recommend giving them a try!

Took my car to get a diagnostics on what’s wrong with my A/C and overall car. Calvin called me to tell me the estimate and how my car was overheating and needed a sensor. He then calls me the next day and gives me another estimate and tells me i need a new compressor for starting at $500-600 which was insane knowing it’s never that expensive for a part for my car. He gives me a whole other price for my car which was not good so I decided to take my car back. He then gives me my car with no diagnostics paper. I paid $99 for a diagnostics. I ask him where’s the paper that list everything that’s wrong with my car. He then writes on a piece of paper “Ac compressor is not working” with a pen. My step dad then tells him it’s unprofessional and everywhere you get a diagnostics you get a paper that list everything that’s was tested on your car. He apologizes and says he’s right and does nothing about it. Paid for $95 for a piece of paper that states nothing and my car still not fixed. My family has come here before a couple of years ago and had great expiernces. My sister and I came within the same month this year and we both had the same issue of no diagnostics paper and the same “AC” issue? It’s giving taking advantage of girls for their lack of knowledge on cars! Never recommending anybody here again. A simple google search for the part he is claiming that cost “$500” is clearly under $500 for the full kit and $140 for just the compressor by itself (picture attached) and the MD laws for a written summary….

I usually bring my filet and oil to these guys and they get everything done quickly and at a great price. I have had a lot of work here done by Tek and, more recently, Calvin. Both are outstanding. Tek has since moved on to Firestone in Odenton, but I will remain loyal to these guys.

On Sunday 10/13 on the way home to DC from a road trip, my car started flashing lights, specifically the AT Oil Temp light which meant I needed to pull off and stop driving. This shop was the closest to where we were, and although it was not open, they let me leave my car on their lot and fill out a form for their mechanic. While the head mechanic was not in until Tuesday (10/16), he called my partner very quickly, diagnosed the issue, and said he could have it done by that evening. He personally went to the Subaru dealership to get the part, and like he said, the car was done that night. My partner handled the communications, so I am not sure who assisted, but based on the reviews, I am assuming it was Tek. He replaced my transmission valve body ($1,180), valve body gasket ($15), and valve body wiring ($76). All in all, the total labor cost was $360, bringing my total with tax to $1,732. The repair was done fast, and based on my research, at a very fair price. My car is now running smoothly, and I don't foresee there being any further issues. If I am to ever have an issue with my car again. I will absolutely bring it back to this shop. Thank you!

Tek was fantastic to work with for repairs- he was a great communicator, the work was done in a timely manner and he was trustworthy. Would definitely go back for service and maintenance .

Tek is the only person I trust with my car. He is punctual and honest and very hard working. He knows exactly what he’s doing every time. If you’re looking for mechanic, let me stop you because this is the one you should be doing business with. 10/10

I've used this place for oil changes a couple times because it's so conveniently close but NO MORE. My mother, a 65 year old woman, was in town and took her car in for an oil change 1) they tried to charge her for a CEL scan without asking when the light wasn't even on, it was the oil change light. My mother is a mechanical engineer and did not fall for this obvious shadiness 2) when we checked the dip stick after the supposed "oil change" the oil was black and well below the fill line. When she took the car back the mechanic yelled at her and insisted he did the change. He drained the oil out and poured it back in to demonstrate this, like that makes any sense? It was black oil by the way. 3) I had already been suspicious: one time they told me they took the tires off my car to look at something, but I never gave them the lock for my lug nut, so it wouldn't have been possible to take the wheel off. Honestly I'm not even sure if I can trust the gas here anymore.

They got the issue I came in for solved very quickly, but I only picked it up to find a new, far far more expensive issue with my engine (making a very loud obvious, noise, I might add) through my own inspection before even leaving the lot. Just find it hard to imagine how they could have missed the new noise the engine was making, when I brought it in for a different nosie.

Update: May 2023. Price has gone up. So I started looking for other places. This has been the new place for my car maintenance and repair. The owner and staff are very knowledgeable and efficient. They do not overcharge. If a replacement or repair is not necessary, they will let you know so you do not need to spend unnecessary money.

The nicest crew I’ve ever met. The owner was super nice and very accommodating. $20 for oil change and $25 for tire patch. We had a flat tire and they eventually replaced all four tires with very reasonable price and even worked after hours to get it done in one afternoon. Highly recommended for any auto mechanics work.

I am a Taxi Driver/Fleet Owner from out of town I needed my car to have a diagnostics done I called at 10:00 a.m. told him I'd get there about 11:00 a.m. 11:15 a.m. Arrived a little early 10:50 10:55 Call the phone number again to let them know I was outside because nobody approached me in the parking lot like you cannot see a big blue white with pink letters Taxi Quoted me on the 🤳 $85 for diagnosis however he did not tell me I would have to leave my cab For what and not for a whole day My issue had to do with maintaining temperatures either staying too cool or too hot That doesn't take much of a check and it does not require me to leave my vehicle or get out... The shop keep said do you have the 💰 I said I have 1200 I can more than pay for the diagnostic.... And more likely the repair but I am not wanting to leave my vehicle here or any shop I always stay with my vehicle while it's being worked on most the time in it... He said so you'll just have to come back another time I said I'll have to find another shop I'm not from in town and I have no idea where I'm going to be day to day Polite enough but they need to make sure to inform people for the Diagnostic they would have to be willing to leave their car not when they show up tell somebody all of a sudden If I knew that I would have never came or even specified an arrival time to be expected I was anticipating being able to be seen rather quickly and at least get the Diagnostic done

I purchased new tires at College Park Auto today. They offered a competitive price and were friendly and efficient. Great business to work with.

I was driving my 06 Escalade from New Jersey to Florida and towing a boat when I blew a brake line during a hard sudden stop on I-95. After a quick Google search, I discovered that College Park Auto Service was the closest mechanic shop. I then drove the 1.7 miles at 5 mph with the hazards on using the emergency brake to stop. Upon arriving at the shop, Tek and his team provided me with a safe place to park my boat. They had my vehicle up on the lift within 15 minutes of my arrival to determine what needed to be done. I had only replaced one brake line previously, and as it turned out, all of the remaining lines including the one that failed were heavily rusted. Tek recommended the full replacement of all the lines, and after having observed them myself, I concurred. He then gave me an estimate of the work which I considered to be very fair. He promised me that he would start working on my vehicle later that afternoon, and that it would be done by 5pm the next day. The vehicle was delivered on time, and the price was the same as the estimate. I greatly appreciated this since I know that the mechanics ran into some unexpected issues which cost them extra time. I highly recommend College Park Auto Service. Tek and his team are top notch mechanics. They provide quality workmanship and excellent customer service!

Tek accommodated my need for some quick services and was immediately available on short notice in a sunday! His prices were fare and he was friendly and knowledgeable! Google needs to differentiate between gas station and service hours. call first to make sure they can accommodate you.

Charged me a “special” discount for checking out the engine light and a smoke test, regular price 75.00 each but dropped to 100.00. They then quoted me over 1000.00 for repairs which my regular mechanic fixed for less than 100.00 overall. Nice enough customer service but far too heavily overpriced.

Call this company for a tow and they were there within minutes. Channara was helpful and professional. My car was safely towed to the tire shop and they did not over charge me. Great service would definitely recommend them.

I called in the morning to schedule an appointment for safety inspection. The person on the phone told me to drop my car. When I reached there, the lady at the counter said they were at lunch and told me to come back after 40 min. I waited and after about 50 min, I was told that they were busy and couldn’t do the inspection. They wasted more than 3 hours of my time, and even didn’t offer an apology.

Chenara and his wife have been running this place for years, I have been trusting them for at least the last 12. It's always the same guys working on your car, they are great on price and very helpful looking for after-market parts if your car make stops being produced. I always call ahead but they always can take my car when I need them right away, like I did today when my battery died. Nice, affordable, trustworthy shop!

Don't go anywhere else for your vehicle needs. When fixing a vehicle is difficult, the owner/manager FINDS A WAY. Never utters the word "no." I'm a lifetime "car dude." Most other places I've gone I see attitude, mistakes, DELAYS, etc. Not here. The owner DOESN'T SAY NO. And his mechanics follow through. Not usually the way In Millenial USA.

STAY AWAY! I called to pay for my diagnostic fee since I found a car repair shop nearby that charged $200 less then them to repair my car. She refused to take my payment for my car over the phone. I explained to the Asian lady who works the desk that they had my car and I had no way to get to them. She said "It's not my problem! Take a bus or train." Very unprofessional. Way too expensive for repairs. They wanted 695 plus tax while the repair shop I'm taking it to is charging me 490 for everything. Big Difference.

This auto repair business is one of the absolute BEST, and most honest auto repair establishments that I have ever encountered. The proprietor, "Chanara Keam," and his staff perform top quality auto repairs at a very reasonable price, compared to their competitors. In addition, they guarantee their work. Although my husband and I have relocated to a nearby state now, we still choose College Park Auto Service for our vehicle repairs. It's worth the long distance trip to patronize this reputable business. I trust my Volvo to Chanara Keam and his staff. Sincerely, Terresa. 😊

I have taken my cars here for years. They are the only service people I trust. Their prices are very reasonable, and they are honest to a fault. No waiting room at all, and no cafe close by are the only downsides.

Great service. I dropped off my used truck in the morning for a Maryland State Inspection and picked it up at noon. The mechanic was very thorough, checking each of the required elements. They even went as far as to repair one of the elements that failed at no extra charge. Definitely not the same experience as the previous reviewer.

I went here for a car inspection (I'm a new MD resident) and I hold the mechanics and staff at this family-run business VERY VERY suspect. Most likely assuming and playing on my naivety, I was quoted big dollars for small fixes needed to pass inspection and which I solved myself: I was told I need a new wiper motor for $340 since my wipers didn't go down on their own. I fixed this with a $15 relay I purchased at AutoZone. I was told I need a new brake light assembly (not just the bulbs). They didn't quote a price but said it could be a lot. I replaced the bulbs myself (so it was the bulbs after all) for $30 at Walmart. They did not even remove the covering for the brake lights and my car remained in their lot all day. When I fixed these problems myself and returned to pass the inspection, they did not seem surprised, maybe just disappointed they were unable to scam me. In short, I will never visit this place for any service again and I would advise others to avoid them as well.
