I have been using Gateway Automotive since 1996. I have never had a bad experience with them. The first time was I had a nail in my tire. I ask if they could fix it and the guy looked at it and said he could fix it right there. I never even had to get out of the truck. He also did not want to charge me for the job. I had to make him take the money. Great people to deal with.

Gateway automotive is a wonderful company, we have been using them for over 40 years. Very knowledgeable, friendly , efficient and great mechanics..never had an issue with anything from them. They are very accommodating with scheduling and picking up.. would HIGHLIGLY recommend them to everyone.

We have always received great service from Gsteway they call and let you know what is going on with your vehicle and let you decide what you want done they are reasonable with their prices we don’t go anywhere where else. .

Another great experience! My son had a flat from hitting debris on the highway. They squeezed him in even though they were short a mechanic. They replaced his tire with a used tire at a great price. Thanks again! Highly recommend!

This was our first experience with Gateway Automotive. We made an appointment and they took our car in right on time. They had a nice area to wait in while our car was being serviced. The work was completed timely and everyone was courteous. We will be using their services again.

I cannot say enough for how thankful we are for Gateway. We got a nail in the truck tire while camping near by and they fixed it right away and fast. I tried to tip them and they would not take it. Super nice and super helpful!

Had a flat tire and it was repaired in a short time. I did not have to make a trip back to pick it up. They fit me in. So appreciative for their super service.

Amazing and easy. Staff picks up the phone immediately and gives you just the info you need. Nothing fancy, nothing shady. Love this place- the only place I could find to do a state inspection. Thanks yall!!! (I had the busted up Honda civic)

We took a trip to Hershey, Pa from NOVA and as we passed through Thurmont our car’s check engine light came on and the engine began to shake pretty hard. We googled for a repair shop and Gateway popped about so we decided to try to make it to the shop. We walked in, and though we felt stressed and frazzled by our car trouble, the team greeted us with kindness and in no time at all they took our keys and offered to check out the issue. They couldn’t replicate the issue but took a good amount of time to check multiple things before we went on our way. I wish we lived closer to give them our future business but if you live near Thurmont and need your car repaired, look no further! The whole team is amazing!

Not to jinx it, but all our experiences at Gateway automotive have been good, We’ve had them Providing maintenance for our vehicles. They do good work. The staff is great and the prices are reasonable. That’s hard to find in an auto shop If you’re local to the area, we recommend Gateway automotive

Absolute great vehicle services. Been trusting them with our vehicle services for over 20 years. Very trustworthy establishment. They don't try to sell you on services you don't need. Personable and professional customer service. Glad to see there is still honest vehicle service companies out there. Go visit them, give back to the hometown community company, you won't be disappointed.

Gateway automotive has a customer for life! I get nervous when taking my car to a shop, but these guys take all of the worry and throw it out the window. Always great work, always fair pricing. I will be back soon for future upgrades and repairs!

UPDATED Jan-2024. Great service, again! First time I visited Gateway for services. They were able to get my truck in for repair, some maintenance and new tires within 1 day of my call. Work was completed same day I dropped it off. Price was very reasonable, including the tires, which were same or less than any big box tire outlet or other tire shops I've used in the past. I recommend them if you have automotive repair or tire needs.

I have been doing business with Gateway Automotive for 12 years and not once have I ever had a bad experience. All of the people working there are friendly and have always done great work. On several occasions I have called with what I thought was an emergency (check engine light on) and Tony has always told me to come right then so they could see what was happening. I highly recommend them based on all my experiences with then.

They are the best when it comes to workmanship, most honest mechanic I've ever been to and just professionals all around. Love this place! A dealership did some warranty work for me and mentioned I had a valve cover seal issue and needed it replaced (honda with 30k miles). Gateway diagnosed the issue and didn't have to open my engine as the dealership was wrong and the oil cap was the root cause of the issue. Saved me a few hundred bucks now and protected my engine from potential contamination due to opening it all up. Can't say it enough. They are the best! Went back to Gateway, needed a tow truck, one transaction for the towing and the repairs. Just another great experience from this crew! I send everyone their direction that asks me about auto repairs. Reasonable prices, trustworthy staff, and great workmanship.

Thank you very much gateway auto for keeping my cars up and running. It’s over three years since I moved to Thurmont and gateway was my most convenient garage to go to. Not only dropping my car off, but my son, who is in the marines, can’t take his truck in for repairs as he’s away, gateway offered to pick it up from my driveway for repairs/service and drop it back exactly where it was parked. The team at Gateway have consistently impressed me. They are always professional, efficient, very thorough, and most of all honest. They have completed several repairs for my family. They have always investigated the issue and informed me of the expected time and expense, prior to making the repair. I have never had anyone from Gateway try to up-sell anything extra.

Gateway helped me with a Maryland inspection of a 2014 Chevy Express Van and replaced the transmission, rear end, and other minor repairs. Great job. Great experience. Thank you guys! UPDATE: Had a unrelated issue. Fixed same morning. Thanks again.

Service was quick and efficient. I had my car towed in for a transmission issue, it was looked at and fixed by closing on the same day. I even had my front brakes changed and an oil change. I will be a returning customers and recommend for your services.

Gateway personnel always accommodate my scheduling wishes as well as the mechanic I prefer. I prefer Keith because I have known him a long time and he has taken care of my cars over the years. Gateway’s pricing for oil changes, etc. are very reasonable. I thoroughly trust them with my car and any work that my car might need.

Bought 4 tires. Did 4 wheel alignment and replaced ball joints. They did an excellent job as always.

I cannot say enough good things about this business. Everyone I interacted with was exceptionally professional. They were able to get both of my vehicles in within a reasonable amount of time and they were honest about what was needed instead of trying to scam me for more money like one of their competitors did. The cost was fair and either matched or near everyone else I talked to. I don't normally leave reviews however, the honesty and integrity of this business is most definitely worth my time and everyone's business. As far as I'm concerned I will be their customer for many years to come.

Been taking our cars here for years. This last time I had gone to another repair shop in our town but they couldn't fix it and wasn't going to give us our wipers back or even put them on. Plus charged us $150 for nothing as they didn't fix the car. Came here got us right in, car is fixed and was reasonable price. Always friendly and polite. Explains everything to us too. Will drive the 20 minutes to go here next time.

My husband and I let Automotive take care of our car’s problems for at least more than 20 years already. They are friendly to us, their charges are reasonable. The quality works is great! They have a comfy waiting room for you relax there! I’ve been wandering away from them awhile because of the convenience. But I am happy to be back to seeing them more often for the oil change and car problems in the future! This is my second review after I had my car oil changed and the windshield wipers replaced! I seldom went out when it is raining outside. That is reason why I didn’t find out how good the windshield wipers are after it was installed for a quite a while. It’s only after I drove under the rain that I found out the windshield wipers are so smooth, so clear and clean while it’s doing its job. No noise can be heard from it. Not like my old one that making noise while it was wiping the windshield. I’m so happy with their job! They are nice and helpful to me! And the charges are reasonable that you should be happy about it too! ❤️
