NUTSHELL: Emotionally irregulated clerk cussed me out, threw my stuff on the ground, and stormed off after HE offered and unsuccessfully attempted to attach a single wiper blade to my vehicle.

I purchased 3 wiper blades from the Thurmont AAP a few weeks ago, but I couldn't properly attach the driver's side. So this week I returned with the one blade thinking maybe it is defective or the wrong size/attachment. Since I didn't have a receipt, I thought maybe they could look up an account for me, but either way I wanted to leave with a new wiper blade even if I had to eat the $15.
The clerk immediately offered to try to install the wiper blade before selling me a new one. In the lot, he attempted to "replace" my wiper by yanking at the old one saying he "usually breaks them off," then he couldn't get the previously purchased wiper attached either, and claimed it was defective. However, upon comparison, it was identical to the new one in store--he need to rotate the part 180 degrees, but he was being stubborn and insisted they were different. He then tried a new wiper from the store that he couldn't attach either. He went on to claim I did not purchase my wiper at AAP, and aggressively repeated over and over he wasn't returning it. I do not know why he was harping on this. It was unmentioned since my initial inquiry at the register, and ultimately, I just wanted a new one that worked! When my boyfriend stood up for me asking him not to be rude, the clerk threw my unused wiper blade on the ground, cussed at us both, and stormed off back into the store.
He also kept placing the metal wiper blades directly on the hood of my vehicle after being asked not to do that. I wish he had just looked up if it was the right part sold to me in the first place or maybe even recommended a different brand instead of trying to break off my blade (on a rainy day) and cussing at me as if he has zero control over his emotions--exceptionally immature and irresponsible behavior on his part.
Heading down route 15 when it started thunderstorm and My windshield wiper fell. I promptly went to this location and the gentleman name. Joshua assist me in locating the right one and ensuring that I had an install on my vehicle correctly before driving to Washington DC. 10/10 would recommend! THANKS JOSH!
James was EXTREMELY helpful, he even came outside with us to make sure I wasn't having trouble installing my purchase. He was very knowledgeable just an all around great guy!! Thanks James!
I went there to check air bag light was on young man said no codes showing said was nothing to worry about when back to garage turns out it was clock spring code 2 of them first off go to your mechanic to get codes for lights the machine they have isn't detailed enough for something's 2nd they should never say nothing to worry about instead they should advice you too go to your mechanic lucky I had been to mine first but forgot to get the code off of him I had only gone there for that but knowing it was serious which I have to go to dealer to get fix as it was an item on a special extended warranty by them but I wanted that info to setup the appointment with the dealer but never tell someone with a red airbag light that because there's no serious code showing on there equipment that it wasn't anything to worry about because of I get into an accident the air bag might not deploy could be bad for there company I would defer from saying such things and just advice you could pull a code and they someone should go to a garage and get another option
Top marks. Every time I Parton this establishment, employees here are always friendly and professional. The store is clean, stocked, and actually well organized as well. I definitely recommend this shop for your auto parts.
The service was horribleThe lady had a bad attitude And then she actually cuss me out ... people like that should not work for a corporate business address is 131 Thurmont Maryland I will never buy auto parts from any one of your stores again... Out of 55 years ive never been treated as such...

They didn't have the items that I needed. I was looking for a replacement seat belt buckle stop - that keeps the buckle from going down to the floor when not in use.
They did install my new wiper blades for me. And that was very nice of them.
It's advance Auto parts so you know what they have. The review is about the service. I have been lucky every time I've gone in here. Good service happy good attitudes. They are a great team from a customer's perspective. That should definitely be appreciated these days.
I just want to say...as a woman and being in and out of many parts stores. This experience truly reminded me there are still men that can handle helping a woman. This was by far the worst experience I ever had buying a part. Richard was very unpleasant and unprofessional salesman at Advanced Auto in Thurmont, Maryland. I seen that he apparently was more interested in keeping the men behind me in line happy then dealing with the customer that was right in front of him happy! wrong way of doing business with a woman . (Richard) ....The salesman at NAPA in Thurmont , Maryland are much nicer!! Never go to advance auto in Thurmont .
I made an online order to pick up at this store in thurmont. Recieved an email to pick up the parts. When I got to the store took the clerk 20 min to find the part then told me that they where out of stock. How did I receive a ready for pick up order if they never had the parts. Verry unprofessional. Online orders are to be checked and bagged befor the pick up email is sent
Very helpful! I got to the door as they were opening because I had a car battery failure first thing the morning. They helped me figure out which battery and replaced it for me.
Worse customer experience ever.when in an ask for battery persin never asked if i wanted my current one checked.brought a 100.00 he was kind enough to put in in without cleaning the cables or anything.finished so i tried starting to expirence same problem.ask fie jump start he went in got a jump box which i dont think he turned in because i had jumped in prior to install and it started.so after getting towed home for additional 100.00 my husband took 5 minutes to clean and tighten the connection and its fine.will never use this store again.
Feels like an old school car parts store. The manager Donnie will do everything he can for his customers. If they don't have it in stock, he will get it for you...same day most times!
While traveling on vacation, our trailer snapped the studs off the hub. We took a shot and went to Advance in Thurmont and the gentleman was very helpful. He actually went the extra effort, punched out the old studs and inserted the new ones. Many thanks for going the mile.
This Advance Auto Parts always impresses. The staff is always friendly and willing to help. I pass two other parts stores to come to this store. And will continue to do so.
Seem to try to be helpful depending on who you get new store so there parts selection is limited Michelle is the best one to go to very knowledgeable about parts she go's above and beyond to do what she can do to help you and find the part you need some of the others are not the best at helping you find what you need may just need more training
Dan was very nice and helpful but the other employee was very insisting, ignorant, and was oblivious to the fact that I was giving them business right before closing time... While he was behind the counter counting down the seconds to when he was closing the register and to when I had to leave. Next time I will go to NAPA unless Dan is working because he seemed very substantial compared to the other employees. Btw this isn't my first problem with these guys, there is another employee with glasses and a "know it all" attitude that gets me hot!!!!!
Can't believe how terrible the service at this location is. Half the time you can't get anyone to wait on you and just recently I went and got what I needed walked to the front counter and the moron at the counter refused to sell these products to me because they weren't "compatible" I walked out. I have never experienced this lowest level of customer service like I received at this location. You guys suck!!!
