Staff very courteous and helpful. Workshop well stocked with supplies, don't have to wait. Bay area very clean and well organized, no chance of accident to person nor vehicle.

best mechanic experience i've had. i know 0 about cars which can make a trip to the mechanic overwhelming/intimidating but Bill was very communicative and explained the work that needed to be done and why. they also called me throughout the day to keep me updated and finished working on my car the same day I dropped it off. i can't recommend them enough.

This was my first time at Total Automotive and it was a positive experience. Fernando did an excellent job and was a pleasure to work with. He even fixed a couple of minor things without charging me. I appreciate that sort of thoroughness in a mechanic. My only suggestion would be a bit better communication from Ken, (the owner?) Bill and Fernando were very engaging and clearly very experienced mechanics. Highly recommended.

We had a nasty incident blowing out a tire (huge pothole) and, luckily, Total Automotive was right there! I left the car in their lot, took an Uber home and called them in the morning. They were really gracious and agreed to fix the tire. There isn’t much to say except they did a great job. No muss, no fuss. I’d go there again if I need work on my other vehicle but they are a bit far from me, however, don’t let that dissuade you if you’re thinking about these guys. They really did great work for me.

Giving back the same google high marks I saw from Total customers that drew me to Total Automotive. My service was excellent!. AC service for my old truck excellent, and they didn't try to find l/create a problem. Thanks Fernando!

Our daughter lives in Bethesda and her car broke down. We didn’t know what to do. A friend connected us with Total Automotive Maintenance and they saved the day. Great pricing, technical expertise, family friendly service. Send your female friends and family members there. Many people have for decades. They will all be safe with these guys. These people are trust worthy.

This shop provides excellent service at reasonable prices. Ken, the owner, is unfailing polite and friendly, and Fernando, the shop manager, always remembers my name and that of my wife, and details about our cars. We always get clear explanations of what work they recommend, and they make sure we understand and agree to the cost before they do the work. They’ve been accommodating and helpful, dependable and professional, and they’ve gone out of their way to help us when we were in a jam. As long as they are around, they will be my first call for automotive work.

Total Automotive provides honest, affordable and fast service. I recently took in my car bc Jiffy Lube told me I needed new brakes. Total Auto looked at my car and let me know that everything was actually ok. They easily could have charged me for new brakes. This kind of honesty is priceless.

Always great service here, professional atmosphere. The team will break down what needs to be done and your options. They deal with a variety of cars...vans...etc. This is definitely my go to shop since I've been in Maryland. Make sure you call in advance to set an appointment because they can be busy. I've had all my brakes done, oil changes, coolant flush, tires rotated, wheel alignment, serpentine belt, bearings and lights changed here and never had any issues after the job was done. You pay for what you get! Also they have been in business for over a decade! That says a lot about a business. They pride themselves in quality service! The team is diverse and treat everyone equal! Bill Ken and Fernando are the best! Update: still the best mechanic shop in town. Great team. Hands down the only mechanics I use! Can I put more than 5 stars?! If you’re lucky enough to be reading my review and found this mechanic - you’ll never need another. I feel very blessed to have found these honest, hard working, and extremely competent mechanics to help me with my 2012 Subaru Forester. It has had a nightmare of issues, and in a tough financial situation, it’s been even worse - so this place has been a godsend. They replaced my entire cooling system and I’ve been in here several times, always leaving impressed and feeling blessed. They completely cleaned my engine and replaced little screws, and I’m sure lubed where necessary. ASK FOR FERNANDO. He is very honest and truly cares about the vehicle and what is best for it based on all your options ? Good people, good prices, HONEST opinions. They REALLY care about the car and the customer - mechanics are smart, problem solving, and sustainable - they fix what’s needed and address and inform of any recommendations. They’re truly the best.

Always a great experience! In for an engine flush and oil change and a leaky tire…left with a clean engine and a plugged hole from a tire causing the leak! Low cost but amazing value ?? thanks again guys!

My car broke down nearby and I had it towed here. I am so glad I did—the shop was extremely quick and communicative. When I told them I was from out of town and needed the car fixed asap, Ken worked on my car on Sunday, when the shop was closed. I highly recommend going here!

This was my first visit to Total Auto and it was just for an oil change, but I am so happy to have such a fantastic mechanic right down the street from my house! The guys were so responsive and honest, and didn't pressure me to get anything done other than the oil change. They've earned one more loyal customer!

Ken and Fernando are always so sympathetic and helpful. They perform all my regular maintenance, plus any issue that comes up. I just picked up my car after a routine oil change, they checked my car over and found two broken engine mounts, I was surprised. Thank goodness they found the problem and replaced the damaged equipment. I recommend to everyone. Trustworthy service and always friendly and respectful.

I highly recommend this place my wife took our Ford Explorer that is high technology which dealerships & rest would’ve took more then 2 weeks to fix. They fixed in just a day amazing I’m definitely coming back here I’m gonna have them maintain our SUV This is the best and reliable service you can find.

I went to this repair shop before lunchtime for a minor repair and was very satisfied with the help & professionalism of the staff. I called ahead for an appointment and luckily they were able to take me in. They were able to help me quickly and I was able to go back to work within a half hour. This place will not nickel and dime you; rather, they are focused on solutions for the customer before discussing the potential cost.

I've always been satisfied with the excellent service on both my Dakota (1992) and Taurus (2003). I've been a customer since 2004, Bill, Barbara, Jimmy, Chuck, and the rest of the staff have always left me and my vehicles feeling and running well. I have and will continue to recommend Total Automotive. Now that Ken has taken charge, thing have not changed, service continues as top rated for both vehicles and customer.

Appointments are easy to get. They are always accommodating, open, and honest. They call before they begin the work and give you the cost so that you can intelligently decide if you will have all or part of the work completed. They help you understand what is necessary and what could wait if you can not afford to have all the work completed in one session. Work is done quickly and efficiently.

Been here twice. 1st time was good. 2nd time was horrible. Every time I called, gentleman never seemed to have any updates on my car. No urgency at all. Car was there for over a week. After I paid and was ready to go, gentleman brought me into the garage to show me an "expensive oil leak" that would take a lot of labor to fix....a leak I didn't have before. Crooks.

Awsome service and friendly staff. Really helped me out when my car stopped working. They were knowledgeable and honest. They also did very good work and even fix my tail light for free even though it had nothing to do with the thing they fixed. Definitely recommend this shop!
