Got me in with in 2 days of calling. Had to get an inspection, breaks / break pads. Blown away at how affordable they were and easy to work with. Dropped my car off before work and picked it up same day. I was so worried about cost I put it off longer then I should have, and I had nothing to worry about. Definitely will use them in the future for any needs.
Terrible shop! Dropped my car off on Sunday for Monday appointment. Called them Friday to see when to get the car as that's when they said it would be done, was told to call back at 3 and hopefully it would be done. Got a call from them at 12 saying it needed a while new hood. So the car was sitting at the stop the entire week and they did nothing to it, Not even looked at it! Asked to speak to a manager but was told they are on lunch break but they would call us when they got back in an hour...3 hours later and no call so we Called them 3 times...no answer and full voicemail....Called on a different number and they picked up right away. Was told manager was in "meetings" so we weren't able to talk to them. So unprofessional. Don't waste your time or money, they can't get the job done.
Thieves. They did not have the keys to my vehicle. But the time I retrieved it they broke through the small widow in the rear at took what they wanted, after trashing the whole interior. Do not call these guys at all.
My car was in accident, I had called ahead to see about getting my car fixed and they said they could fix it, when I brought it in they told me it would be about 3 weeks and it took double the amount of time. They would tell me my car would be done on a certain day and when I would call they kept pushing off the time till the 3rd time I called to see if it would be done on the day they said it would be and a very rude lady told me to stop calling and it would be done when it’s done. When I did finally get to pick it up they left my old headlights and a bunch of other random car parts all over the inside of my car and they didn’t fix my cars horn that was damaged in the accident. I’ve been to this garage in the years prior and they use to be fast and have great customer service, was very disappointed in whatever happened over the past couple years to make them go downhill like this.
These guys are sooooo mind-blowing slow. I've had my car sitting there for 2 weeks for an estimate. If they don't give me the estimate by the beginning of next week they lose a high paying customer
Zach at Carrolls was more than helpful with my car when I got into an accident. It was in and out within a few days, and looks brand new. I’d recommend them to anyone!
The service was great and work was done in a timely manner. The staff was friendly and helpful. I had body work done in my vehicle and it looked great!
I popped 2 tires on the highway on 95 south in Pittsfield stranded for almost 4 hours on a Sunday night and they picked me up, drove me to a hotel, dropped the car off at their shop and immediately started working on it the next morning knowing I had to get home. They had me back on the road with brand new tires by 11am the next day. Great service, would definitely recommend!
My son was home on military leave. We had purchased a car for him that needed body work as soon as possible so we could get back to base with his own vehicle. All I can say is this body shop went above and beyond and went the extra mile to make sure my son's car was taken care of. I could not possibly offer a higher recommendation. from timely towing to the shop to qick efficient body work and to making sure my son had a safe repaired vehicle to return to base with ...thank you to all the employees...
I had a timing chain brake, head gasket and other parts changed out in my car over a year ago and it led to having carrolls hold my car for 30 days because of a so called parts shortage. Almost 3000 dollars!!! So present day I'm in the toyota dealership and they tell me my valve cover gasket is leaking. Shotty workmanship from a grease monkey garage!! Avoid this place like a plague.
This company was assigned to my AAA call today and gave an estimated pick up time of 9:30am. By 10:30am, I had no updates so I called AAA back to ask for an updated status. It took them another half hour to get in touch with the tow truck driver who then said another hour before he would arrive. All told I waited four hours. The driver was barely polite, but loaded my car with no trouble. The kicker is the driver unloaded my car in the middle of a bunch of rental cars NEXT DOOR to the garage (he was given the correct address and name of the garage). He never went into the garage to inform them or drop off the keys, but left them over the visor and my car unlocked hidden in the rental cars. The garage had to spend the rest of the afternoon looking for my vehicle as a phone call to Carroll’s only had the driver insisting that he dropped it at the garage. Now I won’t even know what’s going on with my vehicle until tomorrow and will likely miss more work because of the lack of communication and child-like dishonesty of this tow truck driver. DO NOT bother with this place.
I unfortunately had to have my car towed last week.. Carrols showed up in a very timely manner and did a great job! The driver was very friendly and was very careful with loading and unloading my car! Totally recommend these guys!
Got my car towed over sixty miles to Bangor dealer for service...nice young guy originally from Jackson Maine...great service ...original towing outfit contacted by AAA stated to have declined due to dirt road i live on...my place is 1.2 miles from the pavement and is a town road ..
Nick was wonderful through the whole process of my vehicle being fixed. My car was was here for 2 weeks just to fix something that took 10 minutes. Charged me 200 for the service won't be going there again. Was just happy to finally get my car back was cheap compared to the competitors like VIP but you would hope for a better experience when it's the local garages you grew up going to.
The first time I used this wrecker service was on Sept. 20, 2019. I had just driven my 97 Neon home from getting the brakes fixed and I realized something was wrong with the brakes. I called AAA and AAA chose to send this company to tow the vehicle back to the repair shop. I was very impressed with the nice young man and the new truck.
Fast forward to Oct 2021, I needed to have my 94 Saturn towed to our repairman to install an alternator and serpentine belt and we asked AAA to send this company. AAA sent a wrecker service (we told them we didn't want) and we turned them away and called Carroll's Wrecker service and they came. On Oct 22, 2021 the vehicle needed to be towed from the repair shop because our repairman said he couldn't fix the stabilizer bar on the driver's side back wheel. My husband called this company on Oct 22, 2021 and they said no problem -- they didn't come. Waited until Monday and called they still didn't show up. He called on Tuesday and my husband gave me the phone and the guy said he could tow the car to their garage and they could fix the stabilizer bar. I said "No" we have a body man that we use. He told my husband to call Wed morning at 8;00 to request the car be picked up. My husband did and they told him he needed to call AAA. I called AAA and they sent a different wrecking company altogether. Thank you AAA. I don't care to have any dealings with this company.
They came out even thigh they hadn't received the call from AAA yet. We called to verify they were on their way and were notified they hadn't been called. They left immediately, were really friendly. They were timely and we're very grateful.
A friend of mine brought his truck to Carroll's for some work, and a sticker. They gave him the run around, finally a week later his truck in. When the work was done this 73 year old over paid happy to have his truck back.. Only to find out they did not put a sticker on it, when he questioned this, they claimed not to have any stickers, and telling him to come back later. Now fast forward a week, they tell him that they never inspected his truck, so he will have to come back.
Great service super nice driver very polite never tipped a driver as much as him lol he deserved it prompt polite clean fair pricing even have us a ride be sure to call them for all your towing needs
My friend went to carrols to have work done on his van. Today he brought his van to another reputable garage and found out they never did the work they said they did. Carrols also did not use the new parts that my friend bought. Its terrible that this business would take advantage of someone like this. If you have recently had work done here you may want to have your vehicle looked at. I will be contacting the better business bureau
First came here in the late 90’s. I’d purchased a salvage Subi, which looked like a football shirt. The car could climb up a telephone pole! Talk about strong?? They did a quick, fast fine inexpensive paint job. The Subi now looked like the great car it Is . Fast track to the present, Took my 2004 Toyota there a few weeks ago, they squeezed me in & gave me courtesy lift back home! Work was done quickly, efficient AND for a reasonable price. Now it’s Christmas Eve, who knew ??? They squeezed in my car for something which could have been low cost, could be budget disaster!
OR they could have totally hosed me! Surprise! They remained their usual top notch, high quality honest family run Auto Repair /Towing shop! A simple quick fix, said Merry Christmas & sent me on my way! Wow. Carroll’s Rocks!
These guys get the job done and at the Best Price Around! I read a couple people's complaints like all businesses get, you can't please everyone and there is always 2 sides. They need to understand this is a family business that works hard and does their best to accommodate everyone. I understand things can take longer and they sometimes get slammed with wreckers calls that slows them down but these guys do their best to take care of everyone! Anyone complaining on here should stop being a keyboard warrior and talk to them and you'll see they are great people! They are always slammed busy, anytime you walk in and there is a reason for it! Go there any day and you will see what I mean. They do one heck of a job and at a price better than the rest! Go visit another garage they won't have the traffic like this place and you'll pay a lot more!
My wife brought her vehicle in to have some rust removed. It came back the first time with overspray covering the entire vehicle and bubbles appearing in the paint within 24 hours. Took it back a week later to have it fixed and I wasn't thrilled in their workmanship at all. Sanding marks could be seen, etc. Now it's been just 3 weeks and the bubbles have reappeared in the paint and now burst showing the rust coming through. I could have done a better job if I sprayed the car with a can of paint and saved myself lots of money. Very poor quality, and to me, shows a lack of craftsmanship and pride on their part.
My dads truck has been here for 3 YEARS for a simple paint job. Think we could get it back??????? Dads too nice of a guy to take action. So I will. Enough is enough.
Absolutely horrible service and work. I took my truck there to get rust work done and they assured me that they could get in done in a day well 2 days later it was what they called “done” when I looked at it for myself it was not done when I talked to the guy in charge he said it was not done and that they needed 2 more days after 2 more days it was actually done when I picked it up it was slightly better when I took it to multiple other mechanics in they area they told me that it was the worst repair job they have seen I talked to 3 mechanics in total and all of them had horrior story’s about the work that comes out of this shop.
Cheap labor isn’t skilled
Also when the owner trashes his customers on these reviews it shows what kind of shop it is a good owner would try to resolve the issue and not trash the customers
My car was on its side about to roll down the embankment and they were able to save my car and protect me. Auto Body pricing is best that I have seen in Maine. Definitely recommend using them. They are always busy but always find a way to squeeze me in.
