Chris has been wonderful. There had previously been a rather significant misunderstanding during a service visit but Chris went out of his way to make things right for me and really showed me a shining example of humanity. Going above and beyond in the way that he did is unheard of in his industry and I'm grateful to have been so surprised.
Chris has done multiple exhausts for me on multiple vehicles (euro, jeeps, vintage, etc.). He is extremely knowledgeable and always completes the jobs quickly and with quality. I am very happy with his work.
I have a 2025 Tacoma, I needed my side steps put on ASAP. Nate got me right in before work and it took under an hour. Definitely going back in the future.
Today, I called up Gorham Auto Care while I was about to purchase a used car (2015 Ford Fiesta) from a nearby dealer. On short notice, Nate agreed to inspect the car and give me his opinion. He swiftly figured out that the car needed a grand in repairs to be set for a while, something the dealership didn't tell me about. Nate told me about how the vehicle is manufactured cheaply and had the cheapest possible tires, among other very valuable advice.
In short, Gorham Auto Care saved me in a pinch from making a bad financial purchase that would have put me in a tough situation for years.
Great place. Have been going there since 2001, never a problem. Fantastic attitude from the staff. No come backs needed. They don't go on a "hunting expedition" for extra work. A highly recommended shop. They are busy for a reason. Prices seem reasonable and they use apparently quality parts.
I needed my shock spring replaced. I was able to remove the assembly from the car and they accepted to remove the broken spring and compress in the new spring to assembly for me. They even charged less than what they said they would charge. Definitely will choose them again!
Highly recommend. And I’m someone who knows nothing about cars, I’m a bartender. But they put a stop to the horrible screeching and made my car safer at an affordable price so thanks guys!!!!
These guys are great at what they do. Had a huge exhaust leak, they got me in within a few days and had it fixed in under an hour. Will 100% go here for any further issues with my engine or exhaust.
I'm usually very apprehensive about going to car places, because I have been ripped off so many times. My neighbor suggested that I try this place, and I will definitely be coming back! I thought I needed my back brakes done; turns out it just needed the rust taken off. Now most garages probably would have just replaced the brakes and charged me a ton of money, but not this place. They were honest about it, and told me it was only rust, saving me SO much money!! Not to mention, they had given me the cheapest quote for back brakes anyway! :) Thank you so much for your honesty! They squeezed me in. They let me drop my car. The tech talked with me about NOT spending excess money on parts. VERY happy with these guys and will go out of my way to bring my business here.

I recently had Gorham Auto Care replace a broken header on my 2002 F150. They did a fantastic job with a high degree of professionalism and skill. This shop is top notch and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for exhaust work on their vehicle. A+ rating.
Needed to get my car serviced for storage before the first snowfall. I pushed the window a bit. Chris scheduled me promptly for it's annual check out. I have a new sticker and are ready to roll it our next May.
Did the work at the agreed time and agreed price. Also agreed to use customer supplied parts which is important to me and I appreciate this flexibility. However, the car was still in 2wd mode when I picked it up which means the mechanic didn’t pull the fuse to put it back in AWD mode so that they could take a short test drive to make sure everything was ok and the car was ready to return to the customer. I don’t care if someone has 135 years experience; checking that the vehicle is operating as expected after the repair is fundamental. Before payment; before pickup.
Best mechanic I've been to in a long time. The staff were super friendly and helpful. They got me in for an appointment very quickly and explained everything in great detail. Good prices and good, trustworthy people.

There is a reason why I wait for 3 weeks for an appointment!!, Chris is a very hard working, honest mechanic!! You can go your whole life, and not meet a mechanic like these guys!! Chris has done all the work on my first generation expedition, (about $2,500) I refuse to bring her anywhere else!
They checked to be sure it was safe to drive and then got me an appointment for next week. They have always taken good care of my vehicles for 35 years now. I trust them.
Honest mechanics. After my oil change there was an oil leak so I assumed they did something wrong and I took it back in. They found that the oil plug gasket was bad and replaced it. This is probably a $2 part but they charged me $0, despite the part and some labor on their part. That's more generous and honest than most mechanics.
So fast and affordable. I have put a lot of dollars into repairing my 2004 Jeep... Getting the muffler replaced and an exhaust pipe repaired with these guys was one of the simplest/easiest experiences I have had. Looks great!
Friendly staff. Hourly rate is meh, ok. The issue I have is twice I left my car for the entire day for a couple hours labor and both times I got there after work around 3:30 and my car hadn't been touched. Looking for a better place to service my car.
usually good work but had rear brakes done and totally messed up my emergency brake.then charged me 37 dollars to look. at the work they did again.definately not happy as my e brake no longer works.
I have taken my vehicle to these men for 3 separate issues with my car in the past year and a half.. They are all professional, polite, and honest. They never try to sell unnecessary parts or work. So pleased to have a friend recommend them to me.
These guys always provide great service, excellent work, fair and reasonable prices/shop rates. They are usually a week or so out on appointments, but they fix it right with out tacking on unnessary repairs; Chris will call you if he see's something that should be addressed and tell you up front what the expected cost is. My daily driver is a 02 Ford F150 Crew with a 185k on the motor.
While driving home to Vermont from the Maine coast our motor home broke down in Standish/Gorham. The local hardware store directed us to Gorham Auto Care. Although owner Chris Poirier was finishing up work on Friday afternoon he made time to professionally repair my complex broken engine. We were back on the road quickly and inexpensively. I highly recommend this professional and friendly auto care facility.
