I recently had the pleasure of visiting Lost River Cave as a wonderful birthday surprise from my husband, and it was truly a day to remember. Our tour guide, Connor, was simply outstanding. He led the tour with so much heart and knowledge, making the entire experience feel both educational and special. After the cave tour, we spent some time on the hiking trails, which were breathtakingly beautiful and offered such a peaceful, grounding atmosphere. It was the perfect way to soak in the beauty of the area. While we were a little saddened to find the butterfly habitat closed during our visit, the rest of the experience was so lovely that it didn't take away from our day at all. I highly recommend a visit here if you’re looking for a thoughtful and scenic adventure in Bowling Green!

Great outdoor walking trail. I really liked the blue holes. The water was soo clear. It took me about an hour to check out all of the nature trail. There are many parts of the trail that do not have gravel, so it can get muddy. Didn't have time for a boat tour. Plan on coming back for it.

Fun. The tour is short but it is still fun to float the water a bit further into the cave. Our guide Bri was awesome. She was fun and informative. The gift shop is great! Prepare to fall in love with lots of things. It's not just junky, souvenirs but awesome jewelry, gems, stickers and other items. Nice area to walk around before or after your cave tour.

We had a wonderful time! And the tour guide was great! You can really tell that Trevor loves his job ?

Very cool, one little spot right at beginning you have bend down so not to hit your head but was so neat to hear about everything. Our guide was awesome!

What a special place! It is so cool that something this unique from nature is located right in the middle of a neat little city. You really feel like you’re escaping into nature and experiencing something worth protecting. If you care about nature, this is a stop worth making! The non-profit that runs this uses all proceeds to continue to preserve these 72 acres, including the cave’s fragile ecosystem. Our tour guide, Trevor, made the boat ride really entertaining and educational. We learned that there is cool music history here too - Ella Fitzgerald once performed in the former night club! We also really enjoyed the beautiful trails. Worth a visit!!

Ehhhh..... The story of this place is much better than the actual experience. It breaks down to a well informed in-and-back boat ride and a few ziplines (that were actually closed today). Not a terrible experience for $25 a person but honestly not as exciting as I anticipated. The trails are a little boring and short and it was too dark to reach the butterfly garden by the time the tour was over. I would have rather attended the 1930s hop joint. Would make an excellent place for a New Years ever party and I'm glad to be part of the last ride of 2025.

This was a fun tour experience! You will learn a good amount of history. The tour lasts about 50 minutes and you only spend about 15 minutes in the cave.

Very cool place, the wife and I had a great time, and tour guide was extremely knowledgeable!

The water was so beautiful and blue thanks to the high levels of Calcite. The pictures don't do it justice, it was unnatural but in a magical way. A very unique experience overall, I highly recommend. You do have to walk a little ways to the entrance of the cave but the walk isn't steep or difficult. Children are required to wear life jackets, adults have the option to if they want but are not required.

Sophy was our tour guide and she did an amazing job telling us the history of the cave along with unique facts about the cave and it's ecosystem. 10/10 would recommend taking a tour.

This was a great tour. Hopefully you will get tour guide Sophie, as she is phenomenal and so entertaining. There was a lot of history provided. The tour is short, too short, but we'll worth doing at least once. Id suggest planning when the butterfly exhibit is open. There is also a beautiful trail to get in a little exercise.

Well the government shutdown canceled my mammoth cave tour and I was looking for other cave tours when I stumbled across this one, and boy am I glad. First of all the tour guides themselves are hilarious and super knowledgeable, they care about the work they do. The boat ride itself was such a unique and fun experience. As a single adult I was worried it was geared towards kids but I was just as amazed as they were! Would 100% recommend making this a stop in your Mammoth Cave vacation regardless if the government is open or not!

Property has plenty to do and see outside of the boat tour, but that definitely the highlight. Our tour guide/captain was great giving us a lot of history.

Our guide OLIVIA was knowledgeable, fun and made the experience the best memory of our trip (so far). Make sure to sit on a bench on the trail and take in the sights and smells. The gift shop was worth a visit. L HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

First of all, and I cannot emphasize this enough, this is a non-profit cave! I was very worried that this was going to end up being one of those overhyped and under delivered commercial kind of caves because I've been to a lot of them. But that fear was completely unfounded! This cave is the opposite, it is completely under hyped! The entire tour is conducted from the boat. And I'm sure there's probably some variability based on your tour guide, our tour guide was Sophie and she was awesome, but regardless anyone would have a good time here. Where else are you going to get to go underground and float down a river in a boat! On top of that it was just naturally very beautiful. And I've been to a lot of caves but this was totally unique. I would definitely highly recommend everyone to visit.

Sophy gave us a great tour through the cave on the boat. She's very funny and informative! This is great for families, the kids would love the entry into the caves, amd lots of stuff for them here.

Attention spelunkers: Family friendly, interesting history, clean visitor center / gift shop, cave tour itself didn't take too long. Our guide, Sophie, kept us informed and entertained plus drove the boat the whole time. (Good job ma'am!) Worth a visit.

The Lost River Cave tour was a fun and interesting stop on our trip. It’s definitely geared toward tourists, and while we enjoyed it, it’s more of a one-time experience—I likely wouldn’t return if we visited the area again. Our guides were friendly, knowledgeable, and shared great insights about the cave’s history and unique features. The surrounding nature area was also enjoyable to explore, and we especially loved the children’s nature scape—it was a hit! Overall, it’s a fun stop if you're nearby, but not necessarily a must-see attraction in the area.

What a beautiful space! How awesome to get to go and look at God's creation and see how caves are formed.. learning history about the cave and the generosity of the man who stepped up to help clean up. It was quiet amazing not to mention our tour guide Trevor was amazing and funny ♥️♥️♥️ its totally worth everything to come here! And you will be helping a nonprofit ♥️♥️♥️

This tour was awesome! Miles was an awesome guide and Isiah, at the front desk, was great. I really enjoyed this experience. I've done the Mammoth Cave tour, which was really good, but lost cave has an easier terrain to walk when the tour is done...plus a boat ride, who doesn't enjoy that!

We had a great time at Lost River Cave and definitely give it 5 stars! The price was very reasonable — just $24.99 for an adult ticket — and well worth it for the experience. The tour starts with a 15–20 minute walk to the cave entrance, guided by someone who shared interesting local history and fun facts along the way. Then we boarded a boat and went into the cave itself, which was such a cool and unique experience! The guide continued sharing stories and history during the ride, making it both fun and educational. After the cave tour, we explored the trails, visited the butterfly garden, and saw three of the natural blue holes on the property — all beautiful and peaceful spots. We ended our visit at the gift shop, which had a great selection and surprisingly reasonable prices. This was such a fun and different stop — perfect for all ages. Highly recommend if you’re in the Bowling Green area! Thankfully, we had purchased our tickets in advance. There was a man at the counter asking for same day, walk-up tickets and they were out, so I do highly recommend purchasing your tickets before arriving and arriving at least 30 minutes before so that you can check in and walk down to the area for the tour to begin.

This cave is a must do if you’re in the area! We have been through many other caves but this is the first one we went through in a boat. They have a nice gift shop and play area. If so inclined, you can also purchase a bag to sift through in the water to search for stones. Although we didn’t hike them, they did have hiking trails as well. The cave tour isn’t too long but it is fascinating!

What a great stop! I wasn't sure but what you can't see can and will surprise you. The tour was awesome. Angie did a great job as a guide. Some of these "smaller stops end up being the best. Plenty of parking, not overly busy, not too strenuous and overall a really really cool tour. My expectations were far exceeded. The little butterfly exhibit and nice walk to it was an added bonus after the tour.

Went here only to find that they halted boat ride due to increased water level. This place is nice for an on-the-way visit, there is a merch shop, butterfly garden and a short trail to spend a few hours. Maybe with boat ride, you can spend the day, exploring the greenery. They also have an event special location where the boat ride starts. Overall it’s a good place to hang out for a short time.

Great trail and great scenery. I loved the cave and the river flowing through the cave, such a beauty to capture. We we got there, the river was flooded therefore we couldn't do boating. Regardless, I enjoyed, natural trails, butterfly habitat and other landscape. Our guide did good job in explaining throughout the trip.

Fun trip and an easy boat ride. My wife gets motion sick really easy and she did great on the tour. The boat is really stable and the trip down and back up the river was enjoyable. It's really interesting to go into a cave that is influenced by regular flooding compared to a lot of the other caves, like mammoth cave, where that isn't a problem. Learning it was also a jazz club at one time, confederate hideout, and used by the Jesse James gang was also really cool to learn. The guides are super friendly and do a great job. All the staff was really a pleasure to interact with.

If you’re planning to visit mammoth cave this is a must. Lost river cave is hidden gem of Kentucky! It’s a very small tour but it is totally worth doing it. Fun fact you can actually plan your wedding here, check out the pictures and its gorgeous location to get married!!

This place was absolutely gorgeous. Our tour guide was really funny and super engaging from the start. She was informative and took the opportunity to offer questions and made the experience super lively and fun. I’d definitely go back if I’m in the area again. It was truly worth it! Also found it was a great area to host events as well.
