I've been going there for years, started out junking with my Daddy since I was a kid. Bobby has always done right by me but his wife now she will short change me every time! I took over 20 lbs of copper down there and 90 percent of it was #1. Granted I had some fiber optic in there I took back so I could get the Styrofoam out of it, didn't weigh much at all. They paid me for #2 copper and I walked out with $68! Anytime she's in that window I get screwed and she's a smartass as well.I will be finding somewhere else to take my scrap to sadly. Times have been too hard to be loosing money on something I worked hard to get!
Very friendly family owned business of over 40+ years in business. Price matching plus willing to pay more for your scrap with CASH no checks. Employees unload you so you don’t have to do double the work.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion as you can see below. I’ve been going to Harps for 6+ years now because I don’t have to worry about them being dishonest. I dropped a hundred dollar bill on my way out one day and the owner, Bobby, chased me down to return it to me. Harps is, by far, the best scrap yard in this area! They are honest, hard working people just like me! Shelby’s is the reason I started going to Harps and I wouldn’t ever consider going to Shelby’s again!!!
you better call and ask for scrap pricing and know your math before dealing with these people or they will make "mistakes" and short you cash, .

Older red faced lady is making "mistakes" and shorted me 18.
I called to get it corrected and drove all the way back to get my money.
They deal with money and numbers all day. they shouldn't be making mistakes and should know better. They have no contact information for them to admit their mistake so I end up calling to get it corrected. If I did not call or showed up, I'm pretty sure they would pocket the money.. even though they corrected it after the fact that I called it out on them. I still believe they are taking advantage of people. Reconsider going to them and go to Shelby's.. I know I won't be going back. Going to call Better Business Bureau and have them look into them.
