I've always had great experiences with them. They know their stuff and always find the problems quickly, without needing to bring the vehicle back multiple times. Trustworthy. Don't try to talk you into a bunch of additional work, and are honest about if something needs to be taken care of right away, or can wait. Also don't charge a huge mark up. I've never felt the costs were the least bit high.
The only "Problem" I've experienced, is that sometimes it takes awhile to be able to get in to have it looked at. Which is because they are very busy. Which is because they are very good.
This is my favorite mechanic in town. They are not super charismatic, but they are super fair on pricing and do good work. And they do not try to repair more than you are asking them to. When we had a year with five different coil repairs they did they extra work of keeping track of each coil repaired and the y checked all spark plugs each time.
Kevin and Brian are excellent mechanics. They are also honest, which I appreciate. I have 68 Camaro and only let them work on it. I also like the laid back and personal atmosphere. They are the first place I recommend to others.
I can't rate these guys high enough!! As the fleet manager for a company they are our first choice for major mechanical work. We've taken trucks to them where other places have "recommended" thousands of dollars of work for these guys to tell us we don't need most of that and fix it for less than $1,000.
For example: most recently we had a truck that was "hemorrhaging oil" according to the driver. Their out of town mechanic said it would be around $5,000 to fix. We took it to AutoTech for a second opinion and they replaced a gasket. For around $120 the oil problem was gone.
We love their blunt approach and rely on their expertise to make financially sound decisions. Thank you Brian and crew!!
The only auto mechanic I will recommend. I've had several issues with my vehicle over the years. Each time I've taken my car there, I've received excellent service. Their prices are fair and the work is top notch. I leave there with a sound running vehicle and peace of mind. Brian is very informative. They will call with their assessment before they do the work, letting me decide if they should proceed. I highly recommend them.
Not only did he not find a solution to my problem. He charged us $100 to try to fix something else on my car (without asking us first) and even then, his fix was way worse than a fix I had already found on my own. Clients shouldn't know more about cars than the mechanic.
AutoTech is the ONLY place I would endorse in Manhattan Kansas! They do great work for very affordable pricing. They don't guess at your expense....they know what's wrong with your vehicle!
My family and me love them! They have always taken care of our cars, especially with mine being older and having problems. I've been screwed over by other places but these guys are honest and basically that's more important than going to someone else. I feel like the low ratings on here are based off of bad attitudes and people who don't know a thing or two about cars. But, that's my personal opinion. :D
I’ve never said this about a mechanic before, but the guys at Autotech must be some of the most reputable guys in the business. I took my car to a dealership that wanted to charge me $450. I got a second opinion at Autotech, and they said there was nothing wrong with my vehicle and charged me nothing. I’ve been driving it for a year now with no issues, so they were totally right. Take your car here!!
If i could put 0 stars i would. And you can tell that friends of the owner Brian is posting bogus experiences there. Friend of mine just went in there today. With an exhaust issue. They first off charged 55$ to even look at it. Next they missed a broken pipe towards the back. Then tried quoted him $1500 for work needed to be done. Took it to Midas. Charged him 129$ to fix the issue. AND ordered an entire exhaust system that only cost $400 and will install for next to nothing. Horrible business practices. Even their neighbor the body shop is stopping sending them business.
These guys know what they are doing. Unlike the car dealerships that just put in new parts, they understand what they are doing and why. They don't send you to the poor house with exorbitant bills.
I heard of AutoTech from a very reliable friend of mine in the auto repair business. They were very upfront, honest, helpful, and reasonable. If I had a question, no matter how many times I asked, they always answered it. No down talking me or giving me the run around. I was very impressed with their work, and I'd go back to them.
